Something I noticed: I'm not sure if you did it on purpose, but you hop from present to past tense in one scene, and then back to present again. It's a bit confusing, because it makes you wonder where they are now when you suddenly read in past tense. Anyway, I'm still on it. I wonder what X's going to do now. Heh.

This is a very sad one. No emotions whatsoever. He takes her, doesn't ask what she needs. What she wants. And she lets him. Just like that. He's draining her warmth until, one day, she will be just as cold, and they will end up bitter and hating each other. She has to wake up and get through to him, or else.... very sad. Powerful, though.

Wow. This really was a rollercoaster. I couldn't sleep and found this fic, Figured I might as well start reading until I was sleepy enough to go back to bed and finish the next morning. It's almost 4:30 AM now and I'm still awake. I quietly celebrated during the happy parts, my stomach did weird things during the sad parts. I loved it very VERY much. Thank you for sharing. <3

Oh, the wonderful tension. Love it love it love it. Love how Logan's torn and fooling himself into thinking that he really doesn't care. Wonderfully done. One minor point: watch out for switching tenses. Or maybe it's a typo. The sentence 'The girl studies him, visibly weighing her options' suddenly went present instead of past. Other than that: oh, I really need to read more! (Don't mean to offend you and I hope you don't take it that way?)

Next morning. I was supposed to work but I jumped straigh back to this story instead. Screw work. I'll do it this weekend. This fic is too good to pass up and I'm sure I won't be able to concentrate knowing there's such an awesome fic out there just waiting to be read.

Poor Marie. I wanna hug her. I wanna hug Logan, too. They're all so lonely, although Logan would never admit that.

Logan has never, ever in his few remembered years genuinely apologized to anyone. Never seriously considered it until now.

He apoligizes in X1 quite a lot. To Jean, to Scott, to Rogue... but they were all sorta off-hand. Like, 'hey, that thing I did? Yeah, sorry about that - or something.' I never really felt that he meant it, altough I'd like to think that he meant it when he said sorry to Rogue in the train. :)

Anyway, this fic was wonderful. I could here the rain, I saw the gray and darkness, I felt their frustration. I loved how they inched together again, and I loved Logan's thoughts.

The earth greedily welcomed the precipitation. Here in the city, it was all so…gray. All of it.

I love this. He doesn't belong there. He belongs in the woods. I loved the contrast of the green and gray, and I love that he thought about that.

Anyway, I'm glad I got the message that you posted a fic again. Thank you for sharing!

Author's Response: Yeah I had to think about that line when I put in in there because, as you mentioned, there are times in X1 where he throws out an \"I\'m sorry\" - like after the Prof is taken out of commission by the tampered with Cerebro - but it didn\'t feel \"heartfelt\". I have to say I didn\'t recall him apologizing to Rogue on the train, so I probably would have reworked that line if I had remembered that at the time. Another wonderful story. I remember starting this one, but then it was still WIP. I read it in one go, and it was very entertaining. Your stories remind of of JJBlazer's fics. She was one of my favorite writers, so I hope you'll take it as a compliment. The way the characters have such a deep and believable connection so early in the story... you manage to pull if off just like she did, and it's one of the things that makes my old shipper heart happy.
