The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
I like the dark Logan. I like it even more when he shows a bit affection. Be sure to finish this! :)
Author's Response: Don\'t worry, it is back underway, I will get there if you guys bare with me.
Better late than never, eh?
Just when I think Logan's not being an ass, then he does/says something that proves me wrong. But you know what? I don't mind. This is a very different Logan. I've read many fics with a "submissive" Marie/Rogue. But Logan hasn't been this dark in any of em. So, keep it coming. I for one, is enjoying this immensely.
A question tho.. will the smut ever end? Or there will be some in every chapter?
Love,
Tammy
Author's Response: Tammy - Logan is a bit of an SOB, isn\'t he? When Kristine created this Dark!Logan in \'Anything\', I knew he was just too complex to ignore. He fascinates me and trying to determine what might be too far and what isn\'t has been great fun. I am glad you are enjoying reading him. It is going to be an interesting ride.
(Please don't freak out by this review)
First of all, I squealed like a little girl (i'm 20 though) when I saw the new chapter was up.
Then I read it. Then I fell in love with you. All over again.
So... I love you.
I have a girl-crush on you. Is that weird? It certainly isn't weird for me, because.... well... why wouldn't I fall for someone like you? You amaze me every single time you put up a new chapter. You almost attack me with all these surprises that I hit the ground so hard I pass out! Just as I think (and secretly hope) that everything's gonna be OK, you complicate things! You annoy me by your over complicated changes and twists. You're so annoying. And so annoyingly good at writing! Ugh!! I hate you. But I also love you.
I don't know how I feel about this fic. I used to love it. I think I still do. But its sad to know that this will end soon. So I'm confused, because a part of me wants you to update so I get all the answers I want, like "will everything be ok? will Marie know how much Logan likes her? will Marie ever be comfortable with *those* kinda activities?"
Then, there's the other part of me who doesn't want you to update for a long time.. cause then I can enjoy this for a lil longer.
Nonetheless, this was an amazing chapter. I love how you're portrayed Logan in this one. That its not easy for him to stop doing what he's doing; you've made him look so human - despite the fact that he's anything but that. I mean, even though he's so buff and strong and stubborn and confident, around Marie he's so not all that.. he's so human. And the fact that the girl is still afraid of those kinda touches etc. is so realistic. I can't imagine a better way to have described that.
Now back to my girl-crush.. I don't even know you, but I'm so proud of you. I'm so damn happy that I got to experience your stories - particularly this one. You, ma'am, are a VERY talented writer. Have you considered publishing works outside fanfics? Cause if you do, I'm 99% sure that you'll do a great job!
To answer your question, YES; it was worth waiting :) oh and did I mention that I love you? hahaha :D
Author's Response: Freaked out? I am incandescently happy. Completely understand what you mean, though I\'m skeptical that my writing could honestly produce that response--it\'s how I always feel toward reviews and reviewers as spectacular as this and you. I\'ll be rereading this for the next decade or so (more or less). Thank you, a thousand times and fifty or so more after that.
I love this fic! I love how you've portrayed Logan; always swearing and annoyed, yet kind. I also love how you have developed the relationship between Marie and Logan.
In chapter 18 (I think? It was Marie's birthday) I think what Logan did for Marie was a little out of character.. I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I thought it was a bit too soft for Logan. Anyway, overall, a great fic.
-Tamana
Author's Response: Soft, huh? I\'m sorry to hear that, but am glad to hear that you\'ve enjoyed everything else. :~D
I have four things to say:
1. I thank you.
I've said it before and I say it again: this is The best fic I have ever (and probably ever will) read. I am sad that this has come to an end, but so darn grateful that you've finished this incredible story! So, thank you for that, and more importantly thank you for a phenomenal ending.
2. I admire you.
You are an amazing writer; your skills, your style of writing, your wording, your use of figurative language, your descriptive writing. You are very, very talented. I wish I could be half as good as you are. When I saw the Epilogue was up, I had my expectations, but you surprised me again. I've noticed that you didn't refer to Marie as "the girl" anymore, but you used her name. It's a great symbolism for her character development; that she's not just "the girl" anymore, she's becoming stronger and independent (even though she sometimes needs Logan, but to be fair we all need our loved ones to be close to us). I admire you deeply.
3. I respect you.
A lot of people told you -begged you even! that they want a happy ending, perhaps a little smut included. But your ending is anything but that. The Epilogue is so short, you've wrapped up things rather quickly - but neatly nonetheless, and so realistically. You've proven that you're a bold story-teller; you have the guts to do things your own way, you don't give people/your fans everything they want. I think that's how a true artist should be like and I respect you for that. (and btw, that's what distinguishes you from Stephenie Meyer!)
4. I love you.
My favorite line is "Which of the two men had been the one to hurt her, change her in a way that could not be forgotten with a few words and a happy ending?" This is such a great line! It's so heart-breaking, so good, so deep! So simply wow! I love how you've developed Logan's character throughout this story; from being a dark man/killer who gave "the Girl" sandwiches wrapped in paper, to someone who makes her bookshelves. The bookshelves were so lovely. I know I said I don't like a soft Logan, but I feel like now is the right time for Logan to be soft. You know, this reminded me of a quote by Samuel T. Coleridg "All men, even the most surly, are influenced by affection." I'm sending my love to you.
PS. if I had a Gift Certificate to "One Night with Hugh Jackman", I would most definitely give it to you, because you deserve it :D
Author's Response: I was so thrilled to see this--had a big, stupid grin on my face for hours any time I even began to think of it. Though I could not be more flattered/honored/euphoric/everyhappyadjectiveintheEnglishlanguage that you think so, there are numerous writers on this site that leave my story and me coughing on their dust--you might want to check out jjblazer, or Aranenumanesse, or Jenn. They are the masters........Very glad you liked the use of her name; I was worried about how effective that would turn out to be. And the bookshelves, which I almost cut out. Thank you for this very inspirational/lovely/generous/ego-stroking review. I\'ll be walking on air for a long time because of it.
I like it. I'm curious to see how you will continue this, because as you've mentioned, the other X-Men do not exist, yet you've mentioned the news on Mutant matters. Anyway, as I said I like this fic. But make me love it :)
Author's Response: When I said the X-Men didn\'t exist, I simply meant the team. Mutants are real, but Professor Xavier never started the X-Men. I\'m glad you liked it so far :)
Oh Lord... I'm blushing so hard. You have a deliciously filthy mind, doc! -giggles-
Now if you don't mind, more please!
Author's Response: Yeah, I definitely blushed writing it! Thanks for the review!
Uhhhh, whatsgonnahappen whatsgonnahappen whatsgonnahappen?????? ican'twait ican'twait ican'twait ican'twait!!!!!
Thanksforupdating thanksforupdating thanksforupdating!!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! See, you didn\'t have to wait very long! ;-)
Aww :) Your version of Logan is so shweet!
Thanks!
Author's Response: So glad you liked it! I thought he was quite sweet in the previous chapter, but I was worried that he came across a little cold in this one. In my mind he was just trying not to fall all over Marie when he first saw her, and it was his self-doubt/fear that was makign him play it so cool, but it\'s hard to convey that even though it was written from his point of view. And I had no idea before I wrote it that Marie would fall apart so completely...I\'m finding it very odd how the characters surprise me. Thanks so much for your review!
Hmm go on. I like it so far. One thing I didn't like was the pace; you rushed through the flashback and other places. I think you could have elaborated a little.
But I like it :)
Author's Response: I\'ll pay a bit more attention to pacing ... but don\'t think the flashback part is over. Oh no. There will be quite a bit of revisiting the past in this one ... it\'s as much about the journey to where they are now as what\'s happening in the now.
Happy to see you here again! I'm intrigued to see where this is going, cause it's vey different than what you usually write. Definitely different in a good way! Do I need to say more? Just keep it coming.
Favorite line "and her locks--streaked white through yet another fashion beyond his comprehension or patience"
Lots of love from Denmark
Author's Response: Happy to see *you* again. Hafta say, you\'re kinda my hero after your last reviews. Thank you very much; I hope you continue to enjoy this piece.
So, I'm having Maths higher level right now, and since I'm not so good at it one would think I'm paying attention to the professor. But no. I'm reading this. Bahaha. (seriously, I shouldn't laugh. And don't worry, I'm not blaming your either.)
Anyway, Logan isn't the only one wondering about the word "again"... whatever the reason is, I'm sure it's a gasp-oh-my-god one.
Favorite line: "--more on the mutant activists linked to Al Qaida when we return to FOX--" hahaha made me laugh cause I can seriously picture this. If mutants were real, I'm 99% sure that they would somehow be linked to "terrorism"
Btw, I love your version of Rogue; she's so cheeky and bold. Good for her.
Author's Response: Math? Bllegh. I\'m happy I could give you the slightest incentive--if death by boredom wasn\'t enough-- to ignore that class. Thank you, as ever--you have a knack for reviewing just as I\'m coming back from a crappy day. >hugs<...And I\'m glad you liked the FOX-thing. ;~)
Wow! Could these two be any crankier? I love your version of Logan. He's so... annoying. So not domestic! I really wanna know how these two will bond? But I also like your pace; taking things slowly - very realistic.
I love this part: "He did not notice when the Blackbird lifted its wings to meet the sky,.." It's very clever how you've used Logan's phobia of flying. That he's so taken by her that he doesn't even notice his "fear". Excellent!
And yes, my favorite author, I will send (if I have any) my questions to you. Okay, here's a question: when will you upload chapter 5?? :-D
Author's Response: Annoying....in a gritty, dark, realistic way or an obnoxious way? Because I was totally shooting for obnoxious. ;~D Things will speed up semi-sorta-soon. I hope you will enjoy it just as much then. Thank you for this. I always walk around with on air after reading one of your reviews.
Yes, definitely an odd chapter. I got a little confused while reading it. If it were anyone else's story, I probably would have skipped it. But it's You. So, no can do. But everyone else seems to get it? It's probably me then? Anyway, I'm looking forward to read chapter 4. Hurry, willya?? xD
Love,
Tamana
Author's Response: Oh no! I\'m so sorry. If you let me know what you were unsure about, I\'d be happy to try to explain/apologize emphatically for whatever was unclear. Send me any questions you have, okay?
Whoa... so, where to start? First, thanks for the update (and that was not meant as a sarcasm, but gratitude)
You know what I like about you? You're so bold. So unpredictable. Like this chapter. I really, really, really loved it. The twist was so good! Wasn't something I expected or thought of. Although it was kinda obvious, now that I think about it. Anyway, there are many good things to say about this chapter. I love how you've portrayed Logan/Wolverine. And yes, I meant obnoxious. Gotta love him. One last thing, it's a great way to make these two bond. I think now Logan's gonna be more understanding of her pain and what she's going through. Before, Logan was just an ass, but I feel like in this chapter we see a new side of him. A softer side. Anyway, I really like it. I admire you so much.
Now, you have a great Easter.
Lots of love, Tamana
Author's Response: ***WHOMP***<--That\'s the sound of me throwing myself at you. One hundred and thirty pounds of ecstatic rogan fan giving you a bear hug--no, a wolverine hug because, let\'s face it, Logan would take down Yogi in a single punch. You\'re unbelievable. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and I hope this holiday and all the ones that follow bring you everything you could ever want. >hugs<
Okay, so I know you have a life. Like, you know.. other things to take care of. And you don't have much time to post awesome fics. But hey.. I got a heart? I want to know how this ends! It has almost been a month. Will you update if I return your Wolverine-hug? Cause I got nothing else to offer :(
Author's Response: Ohmygod, heartbreak!! I am so, so sorry. I\'ve been going through a horrible period of distraction--completely my fault. But tonight I am going to stay up until it is almost or all complete. Please, please, please forgive me for a lateness I never, ever expected to apologize for.
Hey, I'm using my phone. Before, I couldn't log on, but now I can - which is great.
So, thanks for a wonderful chapter. Everything was great about it, especially regarding our favorite girl Marie's mutation.
I'm dying to find out about Iceboy and the last part - Scott thing! And I hate you for making me wait! Please, upload the new chapter as soon as you can.
Now, because you did an excellent job on this chapter, I'm gonna wish you a sweet dream (cause its night in here) involving a certain hairy feral mutant :D enjoy!
Love,
Tamana
Author's Response: Interesting! I wonder if they changed the site\'s mobile access up in a way that fixed your phone access and torpedoed mine. :-P I\'m so glad you liked the chapter. I\'ll do my best to be quick with the updates! Thanks for the dream wishes, and right back atcha. ;-)
Uuuuh I'm VERY excited about this fic. I cannot wait to read the next chapter.
I love the contrast between your story and the movies. In the movie, it is Logan who helps Marie and they're sitting in his car. But in your story it is the reverse. Refreshing. Also, I love that you didn't allow Logan to spot Marie right away. You did it very elegantly -- letting Logan think it is Blondie who's the target. It was very smart. Excellent job. More please!
Oh and I will gladly take the risk to read your work-in-progress.
Lots of love from Denmark
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you like it. Yeah, I think I\'m made for AU in quite a few ways. Even though I\'ve re-watched the movies since I joined the ranks of Rogan shippers, I don\'t feel like I know them inside-and-out enough to not piss someone off if I try to stay within the guidelines of movie lore. Plus, I like having Logan and Marie meet for the first time, it gives me something for them to do until I think of the rest of the plot. :-D And finally, I\'m just not patient enough to write the years until Marie turns into an adult, and I definitely have a preference for a stronger, more adult, and not-to-mention \"legal\" Marie. Not that there aren\'t great stories that start out with a very young Marie, but I think she\'s more of a match for Logan when she\'s a little more mature. This one started with just the idea of Logan and Marie fighting side by side before they even really knew each other. And then I added a built-in reason for Logan to want to stick with Marie, since that gave me such trouble in \"The Prisoner.\" Oh well, more than you wanted to know, I\'m sure!
Aarrrgh! I was hoping you would give us some answers. What did she do to Iceman??! Why won't she talk about him?? Is he dead?? Did she kill him? Is that why she has nightmares?! Does Logan know about Bobby?? Is it somehow connected to Scott?? Logan's gotta know something, right?? Aaargh so many questions! Btw, Marie's gonna be SO mad when she finds out about Logans motives.
MOOOOOORRRRRRRRREEEEEEE please :)
Author's Response: Ha. I\'m sorry, I\'m not trying to be mean. You\'ll get some answers soon, I promise. I just finished writing chapter 5. In chapter 4 you find out the favor Logan asked of Xavier (\"not Scott...\"). In chapter 6 you\'ll find out what happened to Bobby. In chapter probably 7 you\'ll find out what happens when Marie finds out about Logan. Stay with me! ;-)
Thanks for the quick updates!
So.. Hold on a sec.. Did I misunderstand anything or did you make Bobby gay?? He was hot for Pyro??
I'm a little confused. But I loved the Bobby meeting Marie accidentally. I wonder how Logan's gonna make things right when Marie realizes Logan's just like Bobby!
Author's Response: Yep, Bobby and Pyro, sittin\' in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. I\'ll totally blame the fanfic world for that, I never really thought that about them from the movies but I\'ve read so many fics where it was the case that I just assume now. ;-) Plus, I like having an explanation for why Pyro is so sullen. He\'s just hiding his wounded feelings, poor little firebug.
As much as I love Wolverine (and Rogan) I loved when he got his a** kicked! He deserved it - feeling guilt or not - he really DID deserve it. I'm on team Rogue. But please post the new chapter soon - I hate seeing Marie and Logan seperated.
Sending my love (and a chocolate Easter egg), because this was an awesome chapter :-)
And have a great Easter!
Author's Response: Yum! Reviews, love, and chocolate! What better combination could there be? ;-) Yes, poor Logan did deserve his set-down, but hopefully he\'ll prove his worth and still get the girl in the end. ;-) Luckily I got them back under the same roof at least in the next chapter, so you didn\'t have to wait long. :-D
Ummm best chapter ever?? Loved it, as usual. I like how you've managed to develop Logan and Marie's relationship. Doc, you're doing an awesome job. And if you don't update soon, I'm gonna have Wolverine make YOU his next "Target" :-D
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you liked it! Thanks so much for the encouragement. And (he he), given what Wolverine does to his \"target\" in the next chapter, your threat is not exactly the deterrent you might suppose it to be... ;-)
:) Thanks for finishing this.
I for one, enjoyed it immensely! I loved your "corny" ending. It's not really corny, it's sweet; it's you-y :)
Love,
Tamana
Author's Response: Thanks for reading it! :-D I\'m glad you liked it, and I\'ll take it as a compliment that a sweet ending is me-y. ;-)
First of all, I'm so happy the "complete?" box is ticked NO. I want more of this!
Loved it. Logan/Wolverine calling himself "we" wow, I thought that was pretty deep. And to bring Kayla into this.. very well done.
"He was older than sin, older than dirt..." Really good. You've made Logan/Wolverine look so human despite their animalistic side.
I also enjoyed Logan's foul language -- very Wolverine-y.
Love and support,
Tammy
Author's Response: Thanks, Tamana. And I have a lot of fun when Logan gets mouthy :D
Not what I'm used to read. Which is good.
I can see myself reading this fic and always waiting for an update.
