Comments: Started off well, but quickly degenerated into OTT melodrama. The disturbingly classist portrayal of people living in poverty (Rogue doesn't know what a toothbrush is because she's poor? SERIOUSLY?) and casual racism in the description of one of Rogue's rapists ruins much of the story, and the lack of research done regarding human trafficking is obvious and irritating.
The first few chapters are still a nice, quiet character piece, full of insights into Logan's particular brand of dysfunction, and I recommend reading them. But the rest of the story is difficult to stomach and should only be read if one has a "helpless, wounded Rogue" kink.
Marie thought she'd left her life as an X-Man (and Logan) behind when she left the Mansion. But now Wolverine is missing and she may be his only hope. But can she afford to step back into the Mansion, back into the lifestyle and most importantly back into Logan's life?
