Some how I can hear the Professor's voice saying that he wanted Logan to remember on his own, that it couldn't be the military that had taken his memory but that the Wolverine was protecting Logan and that is why Logan needed to remember on his own.

I love what you are doing here. I have always enjoyed L/M stories where the Professor is involved. (Good or bad).

I can't wait to hear what Hank has to say.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review. The Professor did say that I think in X-1 and in X-2 there is the Stryker convo that pretty much said he was protecting Logan from his past. However, I have never felt it was justified to with hold personal facts from Logan. I am not seeking to make the Professor into a bad man so much as a man who feels that he is justified in controling everyone around him. It has to be a real ego-trip to be able to read minds and force everyone to do as you say. Xavier is a game player...A stratigest and you know I bet he gets a high from manipulating people around him the hard way. Not with his gift, but through machinations and subterfuge. Thanks again for the comment.

Author's Response: Maybe I was a little obscure there ... Eric and the Professor went up against Emma and whoever it was Kevin Bacon played in the Xmen First Class. So this is basically looping right back to that.

I am really interested to understand what Rogue did to be 'punished' as she is by the Xmen, especially since they are obviously asking/expecting/demanding that she use her mutation as they deem fit. It is good, I like it and I want to know more.

I would NEVER have expected Logan to have lied to Marie about who trashed the bike. Marie is going to be way PISSED. This is going to be fun to watch. It will be interesting to see if the people who Marie referred to as looking for her aren't the baddy Brotherhood as we all assumed but our angelic little X-men. This is going to be really interesting.

Author's Response: Yeah, it\'s been hard, because I think Logan is not a sneaky guy by nature. That said, he is a professional badass, and I don\'t think it\'s like him to get squeamish if there\'s something that needs to get done to achieve an objective. I think in a situation like this, he\'ll play it as straight as he can, but if he has doubts he\'ll keep them to himself until it\'s time to act. As for whether it\'s the Brotherhood she\'s running from or not... Chapter Six will tell ya.

Okay first chapter 6 - I love the way you so elegantly made Bobby both a hero and a villian. It was excellent. Second, we knew this was going to get worse before it got better so I am not overly distraut. I do find a little bit of hope in the fact that Marie did touch Logan and will hopefully get some of what he was feeling and going through. Wouldn't it be funny if his bite mark didn't heal even after she got his healing ability? (but see I am an evil Fate that way.)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! Yes, poor Bobby. It seemed to me to fit his personality -- that he\'d get caught up in the cops-and-robbers drama of the Brotherhood but not really understand what Magneto was meaning when he spoke generally of sacrifices, etc. I\'m glad you\'re not overly distraught about Logan and Marie\'s estrangement. I promised y\'all a happy ending, so that takes some of the edge off. ;-)

I adore the way you had Xavier not be completely clueless. He is so often - when written in WR fics at all either perfect, a fool or a villain. To find a writer willing to let Xavier have flaws, realize them and learn from them is extremely refreshing. I hadn't ever heard that story of 'Ro's parents but it fits perfectly into her story and fears. I really like the conversation with Logan and Xavier - it was insightful and the conversation between Rogue and 'Ro was incredibility sweet. :)

I was not happy with how he was coming across in the beginning of the fic, because he was seeming a little villain-y, but it was really just my attempt to make Logan\'s perfidy a little more understandable. In my mind Xavier was just misjudging the situation because of his single-minded focus on the Brotherhood and because he lacked telepathy in this instance. I was glad to give him a chance to explain some of that, I really like Xavier and can\'t imagine Marie being happy at a mansion run by Jerk Xavier. Yeah, it\'s actually \'Ro\'s official (as of wikipedia) backstory that she was orphaned during an Suez-Crisis aircraft attack, and that her parents were killed and she was buried under the rubble and subsequently claustrophobic. I kinda added the part about them shielding her with their own bodies, but I\'m a parent and I know if they could they would have.

oh Erik is SUCH a pain in the ass sometimes!! Wonderful last two chapters. The moments between Bobby and John were very sweet. Now Marie has to touch Mags again to fix Logan. No way she is leaving him.

What? Marie can\'t just run off and leave Logan behind? Excuse me, I gotta go frantically rewrite... ;-)
