The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Oh mah gooshness! I can't wait for you to get back to working on this baby. I've managed to accidentally re-read it about four times since I stumbled onto it over the weekend. I really truly love the way you set up your dialog and the playful-and-not-playful interactions between Rogue and Wolverine&Logan, and the interactions between Marie and Logan. I'm an absolute sucker for ferals in any form, and I am head over heels fr both of yours. The details you have in here with respect to body language and "wolf-think" are just marvelous.
And please, do not berate yourself for the "Logan/Marie moments that turn into entire chapters", they are wonderful to read and really allow us readers to get into the heart and soul of these two people. Love what you are doing, just LOVE it! I cannot wait for more of this. Really lovely!!!!
~ommmm.... must-be-patient.... ommmm~
~ommmm.... must-be-patient.... ommmm~
~ommmm.... must-meditate-on-how-to-bribe-author-into-updating.... ommmm~
(dunno if that mantra is gonna help me or kill me ;) HAHAHAH!)
Hmmmm poke poke! Please don't tell me this has been forgotten, it's one of my favourite fics (even unfinished) but I really really wanna see how it turns out!!! Pretty please?! With sugar on top? :D (See? I was good, I gave you space, I waited three whole months before I started begging again =P)
Love this story, but this (chap 16 - Instinct) is def my fav :) love your interpretation of feral Rogue.
Just gotta say, I really enjoy all your fics. Love the detail level you have and the characterization is great. Thanks for writing such good stuff :D
Author's Response: Thanks so much! I\'m so glad you liked it. I\'ve written a feral Logan a few times before, but this was my first attempt at a feral Rogue. Glad you thought it worked. Thanks so much for your review! :-D
HAHAH I love the ending :D Must say, Jack is my fav character in this fic, followed very closely by the two leads but still, Jack steals the show in every scene he deigns to enter :D
Author's Response: Yeah, I love Jack. He\'s the perfect dog in my head. Thanks for the review!
Maybe it's your compulsive need to tie up loose ends telling you to write one more chapter, but my compulsive neediness to read more of your awesome story says you HAVE to write at least one more chapter! LOL! I wanna see how scott and jean reconcile themselves with each other. I wanna see how marie threatens to kick logan's ass if he ever does something that dipshit stupid again. i wanna see how ororo and the others manage to forgive jean AND logan for making a muckup of things.... oops, have i mentioned i'm having a problem with neediness? :D anyway, loving this baby, just like I love all your fics. Thanks for writing it and for feeding my needing :D
yah! liking this! managed to munch thru all of "Class Four" yesterday much to hubby's disgust ("i wanna go bed nooooow!"; "I'm A-L-M-O-S-T done dangit!!! Leave me alone!!!" LOL!) Looking forward to more. And yay for getting rid of pesky Victor! I like this Marie! She's a softie, sometimes, and a "hardie" when she has to be, just like the rest of us women. We might bend and compromise when it comes to ourselves, but man don't mess with our mates or our kids, the fangs WILL come out! Looking forward to further updatage! :D
Author's Response: That conversation sounds a lot like the one I have with my husband often. LOL. I\'m glad you enjoyed and hope you continue to do so. Victor... was fun to get rid of! As for Marie, I really rather her be like this, then the blubbering idiot I see in so many fics. : ) We\'re all different, though. I just had to stop bitching about it and DO something!
well all i can say is DANG i'm glad you DID do something about it, cause it sure makes ME happy :D
You're right about the variety of Rogues that are floating around out there. But my favs are the ones that I could actually see myself running into at the grocery store... or the military armory LOL! I mean, let's be completely honest with ourselves, people are a mix. We have things about which we are weak or compromising or just don't care, and we also have things about which we care very much and will put up a heck of a fight to protect. We also have moments when we let our yappers go without thinking fully through what is coming out of them, and then we have to deal with the consequences of those yappings. The fics that I really really love the most are the ones where the characters are developed and complex enough that they feel like people to me. I'm not a hugely emotional person (i.e. i don't generally cry at movies etc) but if I'm tied into their feelings enough that I smile when they do and get teary eyed when they cry, then I think the author has done his or her job of portraying their characters perfectly.
Yours fall into that category. I can't wait for more. Not that I'm putting pressure on you, god forbid, but... yeah... update soon please? =P
Lol, mustard on chocolate isn't as out there as one might think. Our local chocolatier sells "chili choco" bars with chili pepper extract/oils and actual bits of cili pepper mixed into the chocolate. I've also seen wasabi bars, similar concept (wasabi = horse radish in heat). I'm not a big fan of it personally but they're popular enough among all sorts of folks that the items are still on the market many moons after first appearing :D
I like it, I like it! I love the interplay between Rogue and Victor. This is definitely a take on him that you don't usually see and I'm loving every bit of it. He's still an arrogant, full-of-himself asshole but you're showing him as a multidimensional person, and ALL people have crappy parts and not-so-crappy parts to them. Most portrayals of him are extremely one-dimensional so it's really nice to see this side.
I also love that Rogue is her own person. So many fics paint her as a person very dependent on the emotional support of another, usually Logan. Your Rogue knows what she wants, has taken steps to obtain it, and ain't about to take shit from anyone, not even Victor, about it. Not that there's anything wrong with an emotionally needy Rogue but it's lovely to see a different take on her from time to time, and yours fits that to a tee :D
No pressure but... can't wait for next update! LOL!
(And don't worry about the language thing, your writing works and it's perfectly understandable, so it's all good!)
Thanks for another great update! Looking forward to Victor getting a good scolding from Marie and getting forced to buy her replacement underwear LOLOL!
Oh ho ho ho! I am looking forward to seeing where you take this one! All your fics take me places I wasn't necessarily expecting, but no matter what I love the ride. And heck, the journey is 99% of the fun, isn't it? :D
Author's Response: :-D Hope you liked what I did with the place. ;-) Thanks for being my first review, and sorry for being the last review I responded to!
>:) cross-posting this here, minus the bits that wouldn't make sense =P
You are, currently, posting up the next chappie right? Right? RIGHT? ~whimper whimper~ you're not? excuse me while I go sit in the shadows behind Logan's nest of blankets and cry. Seriously dude, you're killing me here!
~~~~wipes away tears and tries to think of yummy things with which to bribe Ms Doc-aka-torturer-of-her-readers into posting up the rest of this story like, NOW!~~~
Author's Response: Ha, hope the next chapter came fast enough for ya! Thanks again for being such a lovely reviewer!
ok i confess i totally cheated and peaked. it is ALL YOUR FAULT! I couldn't wait to see the next bit (and i LOVE it! Love this take!) LOL! You've got me addicted already. Can't wait for you to get more up :D
And here's hoping that this site gets sorted quick so ppl can go back to posting normally!)
Author's Response: :-) Peek away, my friend. Thanks again for fixing the site for us! And thanks for all the lovely reviews!
i love the bracelet idea, I think it's great, and who in the heat of the moment would think to note it as a weapon on a sweet lil' thang like Marie? >:D evil grinning occurring here!
Author's Response: :-D Glad you liked it! Wouldn\'t it be fun to be able to make your own jewelry at the drop of a hat? Thanks for reviewing!
gravies, growly Logan is just.... :D yum yum! And poor Marie, now she gotta wash blood out of all her stuff again, she's supposed to be relaxing and skin-controlling! not being ms x-man! LOL!
I have to force myself to think about something else, and not manually check for updates "just in case the email didn't come in" SIGH! can't wait for the next update!
Author's Response: I\'m so excited to hear how anxious you are for updates. That\'s the best compliment ever! Thanks for reviewing!
I love this chapter! I know I sound like a broken record but it's really true. It's not rushed or frantic or anything, but it sure doesn't feel like "filler", it feels like finally these two mostly untamed individuals are comfortable enough with each other to just BE with each other. Don't have to have big, deep meaningful convo, but they are just content to sit in silence with each other, and ask the occasional question as it occurs to them. Really nice. I'm loving the pacing of the story and the slow unraveling of the mystery that is Logan. Very happy with this. And Syrin should be a happy camper: no dumpsters for miles! LOL! ;)
Author's Response: Well, if it\'s a broken record, it\'s playing my tune. ;-) I\'m so glad you liked the pace of this. I get very insecure when there\'s neither action or smut. :-D
Yowsers! I LOVE IT!!! This has to be the best chappie yet :D They're each SO sure that the other couldn't POSSIBLY care two bits for them, they don't deserve it, blah blah, and the way you just snuck it up them was delicious! And Marie is finally starting to achieve her goal of forgetting her skin, which is after all why she dumped her ass out there in the middle of nowhere in the first place! And throwing 'Desert Places' in just made it all the more awesome. If ever a poem sums up Logan AND Marie it's that one. And it's so easy to think of a desert in conventional sense, sand sun and no water, but really a desert is merely a 'place' where life cannot flourish. In their most fundamental incarnations, both Marie and Logan fit that bill to a T, they live in the physical sense, their bodies breathe and they eat etc, but their souls are a desert, they are bereft of life, they merely exist. I really think that is one of the most primitive appeals for me with this pairing, that it is a joining of two emptiness-es, to create a wonderful and vibrant fulfillment. Kiyaa, look at me waxing all philosophical LOL!
I can't wait for more. You're spoiling me, my dear, utterly spoiling me with the yumminess that is this story!
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you liked it. Yes, I knew right from the start that their actual interactions with each other would be kind of limited, so a lot of the character development (regarding how they feel about each other) has to take place through their inner monologues. A very different style for me. I was also really excited about \"Desert Places\" -- see my response to the other review, it was total serendipity that I ran across that (just looking for whatever poem was in the same first edition volume as \"Two Tramps...\") and I was so excited! Thanks again for your lovely review...you are definitely spoiling me as well!
Aw, Marie's not the only one with a swell of emotion choking her throat at the end of this. That was very nice. I think Logan put together more words at once in that interchange than he has in his entire three years of remembered life! :D me likie!!!
Author's Response: Aw, glad you liked it! It\'s the ultimate compliment to know that I choked you up a little bit too. Yeah, I keep going back over Logan\'s dialogue, trying to cut it down more more, but at a certain point if it\'s TOO curt he just sounds like he\'s being an asshole. We\'ll just say that Marie is drawing it out of him. Thanks for reviewing!
Aiyayaiyai! I haven't had time to comment on the last two chappies so this one's a three-fer-one.
I really enjoyed the dinner and the haircut. It was the right mix of challenge and mundane, and Logan totally made me think of a ginormous puppy getting his tummy rubbed LOL! :)
I'm glad Logan is pushing, 'cause Marie is far too used to being Ms Ultra-Cautious, afraid and careful (and of course, who can blame her) to push herself more than a little bit. He's holding out this marvelous carrot and offering her a piece, and making her stretch like crazy to reach it. And each stretch brings her closer to him and closer to her goal. I am thoroughly enjoying the journey. And boy oh boy did I just KNOW where Ch 14/15 are going when I read him leaving into the snow storm. Silly Logan and your silly pride! Shoulda just asked for a spot on the couch instead of trying to commit suicide by snow!!!!
Can't wait for 15! Though honestly I'd rather have slow chappies than a sick Doc.... but since you are trying to be "productive" who am I to deny you? =P
Get well soon!!!
Author's Response: Awww...a three-fer! Glad you liked the dinner and haircut. Yeah, I think at the same time Logan comes across as all lusty-animal-rawr, simple physical tenderness is something equally foreign to him, and something he would just kind of revel in. And yes...he\'s a smart cookie, making Marie get over her fear of touching. I think they\'re both gonna be happy with the results. I did broadcast the freezing thing a little bit, but I don\'t think many people picked up on it. You did totally call it, though! I really don\'t think he knew what was going to happen, though. In my mind if something like that happened, he just woke up when he woke up and figured not much time had passed. Thanks for prioritizing my health over updates...hopefully we\'ll achieve both. Thanks so much for reviewing!
OOOO me loves it! GREAT chapter! You captured the snow struggle perfectly. It's hell to slough through snow, and to do it while hauling a Logan-weight along too, wow I can imagine all the muscles Marie has just pulled, strained, or otherwise done a nasty to! Love that she finally realised that he needs her body heat, that he hasn't got any of his own to warm up with. For once you ended at a spot where I am content to let them be for a while, all snuggly buggly warm and coy :D.
Hopefully you are feeling better, though based on the speed of this update I fear not.
Author's Response: Aw, thanks. Yeah, poor Marie, but then luckily Logan was there to rub it and make it better. :-D Thanks for your review!
:D this was great! I hope you're feeling much better now!
Really enjoyed these two chapters. The tender moments, and how they are opening themselves up to each other, and yet how they always seem to instantly assume the worst when either one of them pulls back or says something lol! The bodies are trusting each other but the minds are still stuck in the habits of a lifetime. I really liked your take on how Bobby's constant nerves made Marie's nerves a hundred times worse. It became a self-fulfilling prophesy with those two. Thank goodness she found someone infinitely better for her >:D
Author's Response: Ugh, I keep hoping this damn chest cold is on its way out, but I\'m on week 3 and it\'s hanging around. Bleargh. But reviews cheer me up tremendously! ;-) Yes, you\'re so right about these two. They both know to trust each other implicitly, and yet their insecurities are lurking so close to the surface. And yes, we can all send up a big cheer that Rogue and Bobby didn\'t work out. Seriously, is there a single Bobby/Rogue fanfic? What would they even be -- Robby? Bogue? :-)
damnit girlfriend, how do you always get me to go from oohing and aahing over mischievous or naughty marie or logan to having tears in my eyes from their insecurities with each other. Though logan's right. He DOES have a lot to be thankful for, and so does marie... and so do we cause you're putting this great fic up for all of us to enjoy LOL! hope you continue to kick chest cough's butt! Keep toddlers away from you. Everyone knows toddlers and preschoolers are the world's best germ-magnets! huggles!
Boy this chappie had me sniggering like a teenager when the class genius gets the mental smack-down from the kid no one thinks can cut it. Assuming just cause he's Logan, just cause he's got all that fightin know-how he'll wipe the floor with lil' Marie. BWAHAHAH! Good job Marie, showing him not to be so damn cocky :D And LOLLERS at neither one of them fighting fair HAHAHA!
I like how Marie is trying to show Logan (since Wolverine already knows it) that he can be truly himself with her, that he doesn't have to lock part of himself away. She loves the light and the dark, the gentle and the fierce, and it's LOGAN that has to mentally come to gripes with that, not Marie. She knew it from the time she touched him, but he just can't get his human mind wrapped around the concept.
Thanks for the great pressie, and sorry I've been delinquent in the commentary. I been reading each time, just life been a bitch and smacking me with 10-12 hour work days and getting sick and all that fun and games, so haven't been doing the comments like I should. Bad me!
Spring: ARGH! You're EVIL! Where's the rest of it?!
DocG: ...
Spring: What's that you said? I should be grateful I got this much? Yeah I know but...
DocG: ...
Spring: Waddaya mean no buts? it's true! you get me all excited and then POW it's over!
DocG: ...
SPring: I am NOT giving you guff... I'm just saying that you stopped at a bad spot, that you missed a few crucial bits... like the REST OF THE CHAPTER!
DocG: ...
Spring: I am NOT whining! I most certainly do NO sound just like your two-year-old! Nyah-nyah-nyah fine, whatever, BE like that. I'm going to my room to sulk until I get more story!
DocG: FINALLY! peace and quiet! sheesh!
HAHAHAH! Loved it. Can't wait to find out what got Logan all freaked out and what/who he was talking about.
I love both versions, and both Rogues. One sweet and tender, one kick ass and still tender LOL! Thanks for a twofer (two for the price of one :D)
Author's Response: Thanks so much. :)
