Oh my...this is horribly sad. Especially that last bit of Marie praying. Just wanting to be told she was somebody. ::sniffle:: I just finished watching a sad movie that made me cry and this is just compounding the emotion. Where's Logan when you need him?

Author's Response: Aww sorry for contributing to your sadfest :(. I think Marie will find that she\'s someone though. She may not have been able to see it in that moment, but in the end she\'ll look back at what happened to her and actually won\'t regret it. And yeah, where the hell is Logan when you need him? At the Statehouse Convention Center thinking of strategies to woo Marie, of course ;)

(I hate to say it, but I was a little confused why wounds would open on his skin since they only do that if he's recently been in a fight and then encounters her power...has Logan been doing some fighting I don't know about?? Hmmm???)

Also, LOVE that he already knows she's his mate. Amazing.

Whoa, that is intensely sad. I actually love this story and am so happy you've include Steve Rogers in it. But I'm so torn! I want her with Logan because they are just so....them. But I also want her with Steve because he's sweet and caring and appreciates her and not only that but is willing to overtly show it.

I've been admonishing myself, telling myself not to start reading a new story- too much homework, too much work, too much everything left undone. But when I came to catch up on some things, I saw your name in the byline and had to do it. There was no resisting. Of course, the start is just as good as I could have expected. Off to read the next chapter!

Marie to save the day! Okay, I really like that twist. It's kind of like they're saving each other. Without him, she wouldn't have gotten free and now without her he won't. I really, really hope that they don't both end up in a lab somewhere or something. I'd love for them to go on a quest to find Jubilee and Kitty. And OW. Oh, Logan. What a horrible man Marco is. ::shudder::

I know you said it'll be slow going and I'll try to be patient, but I hope the next chapter squeezes its way out swiftly. Otherwise I'll just imagine all manner of horridness that I hope won't happen.

So many good things happened in this chapter (not the least of which was the return of the eyeball because, to be honest, that was really squicking me out. ew). I LOVE this story. I think it actually might be turning out to be one of my very favorites. Stupid next chapters, causing trouble.
