Rogue could almost taste his presence. Feel his hands as he guided her through the postures, see the bead of sweat making its way down the planes of his back as he turned away from her. She had to blink to chase away the fantasy: he wasn’t here yet. He might not want to come with them. With her. She had left him for dead, after all.

Oh my Ms Jaq, you spin quite a tale of rip'em, tear'em Wolverine sexy goodness. Is it okay for me to just absolutely love the brutality of his love"marking"?

I shall pick this line as my favourite since it pretty much wraps up to me how Logan is feeling towards the woman he is in love with:

“Mine. Whoever you are. Whoever you become. Always mine.”

Now pass me a swatch of that red silk scarf please. Pronto. :)

Author's Response: It\'s definitely okay. Isn\'t that the most basic appeal of the feral? That possessiveness, that potential for wildness? Not necessarily brutality, but an absolute loss of control? Glad you liked the red silk :D

***flinging CDN Funds - RSP's, bonds, security box contents***

So the plot thickens (amongst other things...ahem).

That scene with Scott? So very, very hot. I love it because all I kept thinking as I read it was DAMN STRAIGHT. Jean ain't the only woman that can drive a man wild with desire, thank you very much.

And what the fuck was in his eye?

I knew there was going to be some heartbreak, but it won't be pretty.

Can I just tell you that the last scene made me all kinds of happy? More because it shows that good ole Chuck is more resourceful than some of us make him out to be. Lots of different players in your story.

I am SO hooked on this story. It's my dry martini of the day. :)

Author's Response: Ooh, all the pretty paper ... I\'ll accept cash too, you know ;) I\'m glad you enjoyed the scene with Jean and Rogue - I wasn\'t sure how people would take it, but it had a logic in the context I couldn\'t deny. I wonder if Jean\'s as clueless as he thinks she is, though ...

“He said 'start the war'. He told us to start the war.”

Hands are covering my eyes in horror but I'm peeking through fingers...ohboyohboyohboy...

Author's Response: I could apologise for doing that to you, but ... not sorry! I\'ll try not to leave you on the edge off that seat for too much longer :)

"It is harder to love than to find someone to love."

...The path of the Xmen has become much darker in recent years. Rogue finds her way to the mansion one night and meets our favorite surly Canadian--but has she been there before? And what exactly do they want with her?

I just wanted to let you know that you are the reason why I'm trying at this fanfiction stuff - I have read every story you have written and each and every time, I just sit there, mouth open. You're like a chef, the way you effortlessly throw words together to convey emotion and atmosphere, it's just so PERFECT. Even though I take my time reading each word, I still go back to re-read it, just to experience everything all over again. I love this story, and no matter how long you need to put up another chapter, I will always read it, and re-read it. Everyone who has reviewed this latest chapter already pretty much nailed every line I loved, so if I may, "Ditto" to what they said! :)

Author's Response: Effortlessly? Only if that word\'s definition has been altered to involve ripping your hair out. But thank you, thank you so much I have tears in my eyes and have reread this a shameful number of times. This means so much to me--I\'ll be looking to this after a bad day for a long time. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I can\'t say it enough.

I have NOT forgotten this story.

I devoured each and every word. I can't cut and paste my favourite lines of your delicious chapter - I don't think this tiny review box could handle it - but I'll choose one (though many, many others run parallel to it for top spot):

Vague pity, but no particular interest in doing so. This was nothing, after all, but the casing of a bullet that had long been discharged.

I am so glad you are back.

Author's Response: Oh lord. There is no way for me to express how happy this made me. I wish I could hug you, wish I could give you a pony. Would you like a pony? Thank you for your kind, wonderful words. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Takes place after X1, X2&X3 never happened. Rogue's life is drastically changed after being captured and forced to kill her friends. Logan & Jean come back to the mansion engaged after leaving to explore a relastionship, to discover a lot has changed.

Where have I been that I missed this update?!

I love how Logan is becoming determined to make up for his behaviour with Marie and how he's stepping up to the plate to help her with baby James. A man who's willing to change diapers is good enough for me! :) Great chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks serafim for your review. I totally agree, that a man willing to help take care of all the babies needs is worth his weight in gold. \r\nEspecially in Logan\'s condition, with his sensitive nose and ears. And I think he definitely needed to make up for his sharp tongue and nasty attidute. Thanks again for reading and reviewing. I hope you keep reading and keep enjoying.

It's terrible that Marie isn't able to truly trust Logan's love for her - I have to tell you, my fingers are crossed that he'll be forgiving, especially after everything he's put her through.

Ororo is just a gentle soul, the way you have portrayed her is perfect. Love it. :)

Author's Response: Hey there. I always liked Ororo. To me, she is a loving and caring soul, just don\'t cross her or hurt anyone she loves. As for Marie, I think she finds it hard to believe anyone can truly love her after everything she\'s been through and done. I hope you continue to read, and enjoy. I\'m glad to know a fellow aurthor that I enjoying reading their stories are enjoying mine. Thanks for your kind review.

EEP.

I agree with WhiteDove...you can't leave it there!

But in the meantime, can you send your Logan over here so he can give some pointers to my hubby?)

:) Great chapter. I can hardly wait for the "Conversation."

Author's Response: Hey serafim,\r\nI know, I know. Evil me. I just couldn\'t resist. I\'d be happy to lend you my Logan, just make sure to send him back. I\'m rather partial to him. ;D. Thanks for sticking with me, and reviewing.

I found this utterly perfect.

I don't think your Logan is over the top - in fact - after everything they have been through and him trying to make it up to Marie, I can see how supportive and loving he would be - especially because he's discovered that James is his biological son. I think he's allowed a little happiness, don't you think?

Plus, he's getting all possessive (mee-yow) of his little family.

Great story - I am so happy you updated, I was a little worried there! :)

Author's Response: Thanks, I\'m glad it wasn\'t over the top. I\'m trying to update more often now, but it seems that Real Life just doesn\'t won\'t to let up. I get a few minutes here and there to read, but not a lot to write, edit, and post. Thanks for your kind words and support. It brings a big smile to my face. :-D

You have me all worried now! What is gong on with that evil b*tch Jean?

As much as I love a territorial Logan (Marie-wise), a territorial daddy Logan is just as delicious! Nice to see Rogue not alone anymore when it comes to little James.

Thanks for updating, and great, great work! :)

Author's Response: Grrr! I can\'t help but love a territorial Logan, especailly over his little family. Thanks for your continued support on this story. I\'m glad to know there are a few still reading and enjoying it.

Aw!!! Thank you darling TB, but quite frankly, it's you that is so wonderful!!!

;)

As for Jean? That. Bitch. Honestly, I am so ready for Rogue to just slap her, lol! Poor thing though - she has so much on her plate. And I just love how Logan sought out his son and breathed him in. I could just see those burly arms holding that little baby... *sigh*

Great story!

Author's Response: I do have my Jean issues, that need to come out some times. She needs a good butt kicking every once in awhile. *Grin*. I love the thought of Logan connecting with his son, after learning about Creed. Logan is to possessive not to need to reaffirm his claim on those he considers his. Thanks again for all your support. I do so love to read your reviews. I get a kick out of them. :D

Big wave right back at you! :)

So, like...WOW. Revelation after revelation here. Poor, poor Rogue. How brutal, how horrible. This chapter had a mixture of tragedy and joy, only in that Logan got to learn his real name and that the person responsible for turning him into a weapon was dead. But Kayla? Oh man. That's rough.

As for Rogue telling Logan that Victor raped her, it was good that she got it out there. Its realistic that he would have while she was captured and Logan needs to know just how much she suffered while he was away.

You did manage to make me laugh though, I never noticed that you had Sam Lee, instead of Stan Lee in your disclaimers! Just goes to show how quickly I like to dive into your stories! :) Now, on to the next chapter because I see that you have gone into overdrive!!!

Author's Response: I have my Jean issues, but it would seem I was more mean to Rogue in this story than I was to Jean. I agree, poor, poor Rogue. \r\n\r\nI couldn\'t believe I wrote Sam Lee, instead of Stan Lee. I am just so embarrassed to be a X-men fan, and get that wrong. (Hide my face in shame.) LOL\r\n\r\nThanks for sticking with me, and review. I enjoy hearing from you about your thoughts on each and every chapter.

:(

On no, poor, poor Rogue! Here I thought the last chapter was brutal! God, how horrible - slashing away at her body to get the nightmare induced Sabretooth to stop hurting her. Thinking she needed to kill herself to do it...

Logan really stepped up to the place here. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks. I just hope it wasn\'t to brutal. Logan will always have Rogue\'s back in my stories. Even if he can be a jerk sometimes. Love the reviews.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this. Beautiful dialogue between Logan and Rogue - his understanding that she needs time to heal and his declaration that he would wait. *sigh*

As for Jean? Beautiful as well. The way he sent out images of what he would do if she ever tried to hurt Rogue again was picture-perfect (literally, lol). Yes, he is a feral - a killer when he needs to be and I loved how you had him show it to her. Take THAT, b@itch. :)

Aww..epilogue? I'm bracing myself for the end of this great story...

Author's Response: Logan knows how to be vulnerable while still being manly. He also knows what his Marie needs and he will do everything in his power to give it to her. As for Jean, I think she got what she deserved. She needed to realize Logan wasn\'t someone she could manipulate or lead around by his penis. He\'s got his feral killer side that few ever see, but the quickest way for someone to see it would be to mess with his family. I have to admit, I did so enjoy the feral menacing chuckle at the end he projected along with his thoughts. I think I might have my own little feral side. ;)

Perfect ending.

Thank you for having Marie deal with what had happened to her with counselling - someone bouncing back easily from trauma from that just couldn't wash with me without some major healing time. And you showed that.

Too sweet, love how it was a group effort when they got married and then the ending? Again, I have to tell you. PERFECT. Your little James is edible, lol

That's two in less that one week that you've ended! Holy cow, woman. Now I shall have to bug you to get cracking on your next one. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much for all your support and sticking with me on this wild ride. I\'ve enjoyed each review. As for Marie, I don\'t know anyone who could suffer such hell, and not need serious counselling and support to even start taking the steps to recovering. The others had come to mean so much to Marie and had been there for her through thich and thin, that were truly her family now. After everything she had suffered, I think she deserved to have a special day surrounded by her family. I thought James for adorable too. ;)We\'ll see about the next one.

Now COMPLETE!

Yes, another AU. :-D Logan is on a mission to contact a powerful mutant and convince her to join the X-Men. Things go awry, of course. ;-) Here's an excerpt: “You’ve been shot before,” she said, and he could practically see her mind piecing it together. “And you don’t want to go to the authorities.” He saw that icy calmness creep back into her demeanor as her scent changed sharply. She was no longer afraid for him, now she was afraid of him. “Who do you work for? Did he send you to find me?”

That twist about Bobby not saving himself to save her? BRILLIANT. So, so sad! The guilt poor Marie has, its painful to read. Logan is sweet, very giving, I almost want you to be gentle when she finds out he's mislead her. Almost. ;) Great story so far!

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked the thing with Bobby. Yeah, I\'m surprised how much I\'m feeling for both Logan and Marie in this fic. Especially in the next chapter...they\'re just in such a difficult situation. :-/ I\'m so mean to my poor characters! I really enjoyed this chapter, the sense of Logan's torment, Professor's guilt and Ororo's empathy really rang true to me. You did such a wonderful job with the interaction between Rogue and Ororo, and that bit about Bobby coming out more because of the familiarity of the mansion was just perfect. This wasn't a slow chapter at all, it really fleshed out who Rogue is and what she means to Logan. Bravo. :)

This is truly such a beautiful story - I love how you are always able to convey how the both of them are feeling, making my sympathetic to both.

I wish there was a button for 100 stars!!!! k, now I have to calm down and do a proper review, lol!

She had touched him with her bare hand, and touch to Marie meant everything.

Truer words could not have been written about Rogue...

Hold on, darlin’, I’ll be coming for you...

Here was where I was like, go get her Logan, go save your Marie!!!

“Now, goddammit.”

AMEN, sister...

Then, you throw in that fantastic twist at the end, a la MAGNETO. Unbelievable, I am telling you, you had me completely rivetted. As I was reading (and believe me, I was reading as slowly as I could,) I kept looking at the side bar of my computer screen, giddy because I could tell there was so much more to go.

Now, I shall go re-read your chapter because that's just the way I roll. :)

When I read your summary stating that this was the end of your story, I got a little sad but then excitement raced through me because, hey, it's another chapter LOL!

I read your story again from start to finish, and I must tell you - fantastic writing, fantastic characterization, fantastic protagonist interaction - just FANTASTIC everything! :) Having Marie and Logan swimming playfully in the water (him being free from the tremendous weight of his adamantium-coated skeleton) was perfect and really illustrated to me their relationship.

So Happy anniversary as well to you and your "Wolverine", and again, thanks so much for sharing your story with us! :)

Author's Response: Aw, I know what you mean, I get so sad when I find out a good story is in the last few chapters! Talk about eyeing that side scroll bar.... I\'m so honored that you read the story again, and that you liked it the second time around. ;-) I\'m glad you liked the ending -- I was expecting at least some flames for keeping Logan adamantium-free. Thanks for the anniversary wishes!
