The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
You definitely bring the yum with this line: Heat radiating through his skin with every point of contact, the urge to shut her up using only his mouth and tongue and tonsils suddenly over-powering in that hot, sticky room.
This caused me to snort water out my nose: It was strange, but he looked like the type of man who laughed easily and often, a far cry from the Wolverine and his death-and-me-are-Molson-buddies stoicism.
Okay, pretty much everything Jubilee says here is awesome, but especially this:
“So let me get this straight,” Jubes was saying, “You tried to warn Marie that Remy LeBeau is a no-good, honour-free horn-dog? And yet you somehow managed to turn that into You are Unattractive and Too Emotionally Frail To Deal With Adult Life? That about cover it, bub?”
“We must move beyond the Era of Logan the Growler, of Logan the Semi- Stalker,” She thundered. “We must even move beyond the Era of Logan, the Scruffy Sex God Who May or May Not Turn Up If You and He Make A Date! We must move ourselves into the Era of Logan, the Considerate. Of Logan, the Coordinated. Of Logan, The Only Man Marie Wants To Date. In short, we must move into the Era of Logan The Dancer!
Didn't even have to think about this one, I think it's the best line in the whole fic:
Didn’t help that the moment she’d spoken he and Parker had leapt apart with the limberness of spring lambs,
What a visual!
Did I mention the yum?: She launched herself at his throat, teeth breaking the surface and as she did so she heard him make a sound she couldn’t identify, somewhere between a snarl and a moan. Felt his big, heavy hand thread roughly through her hair to hold her mouth in place. “Right there,” he hissed as she bit again, “Right there, darlin’- Just like I like it-”
:-D: What Marie and Logan shared wasn’t so much a mutual affection as mutual brain-damage
Awesome: “Look,” he said, “I ain’t Hank so I’ll leave out all the big words and just cut to the chase: What The Fuck, Marie?” And he swept a hand behind him, as if to encompass all that might be The Fuck.
This was a very deep thought for Remy in the middle of a fluffy chapter. It's great: Girl spent so much time trying to distract the feral from his darkness that she never thought to find someone to distract her from her own.
It took me a minute, but when I decoded it I laughed out loud. Poor Bobby!: Not that Marie had ever been persuaded to watch that stuff with Bobby before he finally renounced his Narnia-seeking ways.
Mmmmm: Despite herself Marie felt heat rising to her cheeks, felt herself taking in every wet, dirty, scuffed, perfect inch of him.
Two great phrases here: Something sixties and dreamy and honey-toned. and: Making eye contact the entire time, whispering soft, hot things that made her feel dizzy and wanted, that made her toes curl and her blood practically sing.
You can make even the most innocuous sentences so evocative and lovely!: He’d ghosted into place beside her, an unlit cigarette between his lips, the look he was throwing the newly-clued-in honeys unreadable.
I will ignore how you made Logan three and a half feet tall here! ;-) I know he can be short, but...
Best line: And without a moment’s hesitation the Asgardian reached down and smacked Kit soundly on the ass. Grinning. As if she kept her supply of drunken bridesmaids in there.
Aw. Thanks for a great story!
Author's Response: hey hun, just wanted to thank you for all the kind reviews! i normally only respond to reviews when i\'m writing the fic (everyone gets a shout-out at the beginning of each new chapter)but you started me thinking that it was kinda rude not to say thanks if someone only discovers the story after it finishes and then reviews. so thank you, i\'m really glad you enjoyed \"jitters,\" and i\'m really looking forward to your next chapter... \r\nhobbits away, hey!
Awesome! And hilarious. And yes I would like my calendar, please. ;-)
Author's Response: Hmmm, MANimals calendar? I hadn\'t considered that...Maybe a \"MANimals Magazine Presents: Fantastic Feral 2011 Calendar\"!!! I\'ll put you on the recipient list. Thanks!
Oops -- sorry shuttlelauncher, I meant to delete my response and write a new one, but instead I deleted your review. My bad. And all for a lame joke about how instead of my updates being early Christmas presents I'm on the Hanukkah schedule, because at the rate I'm going I'll probably have posted 8 in a week's time... ;-)
Aw, I loved this one. Good job!
Author's Response: Thank you!
Wow, I can't believe I missed reading this earlier. I absolutely loved it. I'm going to have to open it in another window to quote all the parts I love, but these in particular got me:
"she’s up on coltish legs, tangled in the length of her cloak."
"he rises as slowly as any man who knows too well how things work in the wild"
"He’s damned sure his reinforced frame is going to crack with it."
Just great. I can't wait to read the rest of it!
Author's Response: Oh gosh you just did my most favorite thing ever: QUOTING. I dunno, it just makes me bounce & squee a bit when reviewers quote things. I love, love, love knowing which lines stood out to people. Right now I don\'t think I\'m going to continue this. I can sort of see a cloudy impression of where I could take it, but there\'s another monster that I\'m working on. It\'s really good to know that the interest is there in case I do decide to uncheck the \"finished\" box. Thanks so much for reading, rating, and reviewing! The *new* 3 Rs!
I'm so glad to see you writing new stuff! I'm new to the site (and the general world of Rogan fanfic) and I looooved your Dark Side series -- it was so great! I loved the explanation of why the cure was so vital to Rogue (especially how the Freak Out intensified her power/curse). And her interaction with John. Even her interaction with Scott when she takes his powers is so brief but moving. I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: Welcome to Rogan! There\'s a lot of great stuff going on over here. :) Glad you liked the interactions with John and Scott. Secondary characters are really important to me. More soon.
Love this chapter, and appreciate how thoughtful you are about tying things together. But poor, poor, Marie. That just hurt to read! Anxiously awaiting more...
Author's Response: I appreciate your appreciation. Much more to come, inshallah.
Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about this story, and would really love to see an update some day!
I liked this a lot! Can't wait to see more!
Author's Response: Thanks!
Yay! I love your crazy/resourceful Marie!
Author's Response: I\'m starting to like her a whole lot too. I could never stand the Marie of the movies because she just stood around helpless all the time waiting for someone else to come save her. Totally not the Rogue of the comics or the cartoons or of my brain for that matter. Anyway, thanks for reviewing! I know it\'s hard sometimes to take the time when you\'re writing your own stories and I appreciate it. Kiss Kiss.
Still loving it! Lots of great lines, but I'll pick one I particularly loved:
The goddess inclines her head and unlike so many of the nonverbal head gestures she had been given in the past few days, this is more of a “won’t you accompany me?” and less of a “hop to, underling.” Marie appreciates that now that she has experienced the difference.
Author's Response: Thanks! I love when reviewers point out what they loved. And honestly, just the simple \"keep writing!\" was enough to brighten my day!
Squeeee! I don't know what thrilled me more, seeing a new story by you or seeing that the "complete" box was unchecked knowing there would be more. I am totally hooked already. I think you did a great job of establishing the circumstances of the AU without having to spell them out in an intrusive way. I was a little confused at first but all was clear by the end. I know you've had other offers, but add me to the list of those who would be thrilled to beta for you. You have my email. :-)
Author's Response: Oh gosh there\'s a lot of squeeing going on these days, huh? I think you\'re one of the only people on this site who *likes* the unchecked complete box. Usually that\'s a sign of doom to readers. I\'ve got plenty more already written & unless something unfortunate occurs *knock on wood* I\'ll be delivering it. With a side of Nearly Nekkid Logans for everyone. Okay, you\'re all just going to have to use your imaginations on that one. I can\'t actually deliver that. Thanks for this :D
