Barely Legal Since 2000
Hey there! Okay, I'm a Brit - I admit it freely! - and the quips about the Queen didn't offend me in the slightest. But strangely, I've been left with this image about pinkies and cups of tea that I can't seem to shake......
Anyway, awesome one-shot! I loved this when it was part of the whole and I still love it as a short story! Especially the proceedure being likened by Logan to a military campaign!! He's been through plenty of those, so anything else should just be a walk in the park! (More strange visuals on the way!!!!)
Good work - keep it up!! (Oh darn ......)
Oh my! It's suddenly gone very warm in here - must open a window!
Seriously, your story is one of the best I've read in ages! You have a wonderful way with words, transporting us so easily into the world you have created and letting us see everything so perfectly through your eyes. Honestly, it was so beautifully written that I swear I could smell the woods around me as I read!
Please don't let your talent go to waste! Write more, or else!!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Glad I could warm things up for you...it\'s freezing here today!
Great story! Looking forward to finding out what happens when Marie accesses Logan's memories! Please update soon!!!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! It may be a few chapters before Rogue dips into Logan\'s memories (well, two to be exact). Can\'t have things resolve *too* soon, right? Thanks for reviewing!
Oh my, what a beautifully written chapter! I simply loved the words you used here, each and every sentence perfectly crafted to tug at the heartstrings. I would almost swear I could hear the sounds of the night in that final section along with Rogue - and when Wolverine appeared at the doorway behind her I held my breath, hardly daring to read on for fear she would reject him and yet needing to know the outcome. Not many stories affect me so deeply and I am impressed!
Yes, a truly beautifully written chapter and now I find myself counting the hours until the next one........ Please update soon!!
Author's Response: I\'m so glad you liked the chapter, and that you found it moving. Your review moved me! :-D I\'ll try to update as soon as I can...hopefully by the end of this week at the latest. Next chapter has smut, which always takes me longer to write, but hopefully it\'ll be worth the wait. ;-)
Oh my .... *fans self* ...... A-hem! Before I dash off for a cold shower, there's just enough time to say a heartfelt 'well done'!!! I really enjoyed your latest chapter and can't wait for the next! Evil cliffie! You have me at the edge of my seat here!
Author's Response: :-D So glad you liked it! Sorry about the cliffhanger. :-)
Excellent chapter! Loved how Magneto managed to control Logan so easily - reminded me of an event in one of the comics when he ripped all Wolvie's adamantium out. Ouch! Magneto is probably one of the few mutants who could really do some serious damage to our favourite feral - Rogue herself being another. But she's not gonna hurt her Logan, is she? Not likely! Not when there's a cell to get out of and a power-mad rival to take care of! Looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Ha...go read the last chapter, and then come back to read my response to your totally prescient review. I\'ll wait here. ::whistling::\r\n\r\nYeah, it was sad that Rogue had to hurt Logan, but it was really the only way. I did try to throw a few breadcrumbs into earlier chapters about how oppressive the metal is, so that it would be believable that Logan would actually be relieved to find it gone. I guess in the comicverse he\'s lost and regained the metal at least a few times, huh? I read in a wiki that his healing factor was much improved without it, but not sure if he was ever relieved to have it gone or not.
Wow, I can't believe I mentioned the adamantium-removal in my last review! How spooky is that? To my knowledge, Wolvie has only had the metal removed once - the adamantium he is bonded with now used to be inside Sabertooth and was put there by Apocalypse when he needed a new Horseman. Phew! Anyway, excellent final chapter and I, for one, enjoyed the 'corny' ending! Incidentally, Happy Anniversary! You are not alone - my husband and I celebrated our own 17th wedding anniversary yesterday!!
Author's Response: Yeah, I was like, \"Oops, I better get the last chapter up fast so she doesn\'t think I stole her idea!\" You\'re right, I was confused...it was removed only once but apparently two different people tried to put it back -- first Cable\'s son Genesis (unsuccessfully) and then Apocalypse (successfully). I\'m glad you liked the chapter, and the ending. Happy anniversary to you guys too!
Aw, that was so sweet! Thank you for sharing this - and for opening my eyes to the magic of flowers!
Author's Response: That was very kind. Thank you!
