Hey Wendie! Well, you've definitely got my attention with this one, and you know I'm not one to ignore a challenge! I've already got one or two ideas running around in my head, so I'll shake them up and see what comes out!
Incidentally, I love your first offering! Very hot and with a quirky strangeness, to boot!
Author's Response: Thanks! I am so glad you liked this and are excited about taking up the challenge. I\'d love to have your \'head/idea shaker\', if \'Rock\' is any indication of the stuff that rolls around in there! --Wendie
I love this! You do a wonderful Logan - manfully intense with a hint of feral hotness! And I really like your writing style - it's easy on the eyes and full of detail.
I would really like to read more from you - either in the form of a continuation of this story, or another offering. I'm not fussy! Just give us more!!
Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked my version of Logan... I struggled a little initially with how reserved, intense, etc to write him. He can be a tough cookie to crack, huh? :) Thank you very much for the great comment!
Loving this! Please continue!
Was so pleased to see your update - and what a great chapter! So innocent in deed, yet so hot in intent! And the best line by far had to be Logan's comment about the first couple of inches! Please keep this coming - I'm hooked!
Excellent chapter - and so hot and spicy! More sexual tension than an episode of True Blood! (Can I say that on here?!) Please continue soon!
Author's Response: Thanks for the review...and ah yes, the sexual tension. Isn\'t what this story\'s all about? ;)
Oooh, I love this! I've just sat and laughed like a crazy person over the last four chapters! Poor Logan! He's really got it bad, hasn't he? And you've got him pegged so well - the humour is just spot on! Please say you're gonna continue this - and soon!
Author's Response: Thanks :oD Glad you liked it! I\'m gonna try and get the last part of it posted tonight (sorry - I know I am so hideously slow on replying to comments & posting new chapters!)
God, I just love this story! So beautifully written and full of emotion! I am so glad Logan didn't give in to Jean - she's such a cold-hearted bitch!
Please, please continue - my life is bereft without this story!
Author's Response: Lol! >screams happily at computer< I think thats one of the most awesome things I\'ve ever been told. You made my day. Thanks.
I absolutely love this story! God, I wish I could write like this - it's so beautifully written and full of everything that makes the relationship between Logan and Marie so special. The words you use are so descriptive that I actually feel as though I'm there - and that I could just reach out and touch the characters. Amazing talent! Please continue, because I really need to know why Logan stopped - the fool!!
Author's Response: I had been kinda worried/unsatisfied with this chapter. Im so glad you liked it. >hugs< Thank you. This made me feel alot better.
Wow! A story with two halves! First half - intense, shocking and incredibly strong. Poor Logan - I really felt for him. Second half - sweet, touching and sexually powerful. Logan in love makes for one of the best story-lines! I am so loving this story - please continue!
Author's Response: I know. As you can see from the first chapter, each chapter is supposed to have two halves. But I would have been bleeding out my eyes if I had tried to type up the previous segments together-they were just too long. But anyhoo, thank you so, so much for this. >hugs, gives cupcake with white chocolate & sprinkles<
Wow! Incredible! You write their scenes together with such tenderness and beauty - I bow before your superior talent! Please don't leave us too long before updating this. I don't want to rush you - perfection takes time, I know - but I am having withdrawal symptoms!
Author's Response: Okay, so I had to wipe my eyes after reading this review. Wimpy, I know, but there you have it. Thank you so much. And its too early for me to be positive, but Im reasonably sure/hopeful itll be up by Saturday...>wince< Im probably jinxing myself. But I promise: I wont forget about it, and I write as much as I can every day. :-)
Wonderful story! So beautifully written and full of emotion. I'm so sorry it's complete because I would love to read more. How about a sequel? Or a continuation?
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I\'m glad you enjoyed it as much as you did. I said above that I\'ll give it some thought. I hadn\'t really planned on anything else being added, but if I can come up with a decent enough storyline, it won\'t be a chore to write it out.
Would love to read more of this so please continue!
I could kick myself that I didn't leave a review for the last chapter - I meant to, but I guess I got distracted. Anyway, better late than never!
Y'know, this story is beginning to remind me of a recent series from the Wolverine comic, in which Logan, hiding out in a shabby tenement, meets a young girl - (not Rogue, I hasten to add.) She calls him 'Mean Man' and a kind of grudging respect develops between them, but when she's murdered Logan sets off to avenge her, spreading blood and mayhem across the country. Please don't kill Rogue off in your story, because I'm beginning to like her!
Chapter four - awesome as always! Looking forward to finding out why Marie was missing from her usual place on the step!
Author's Response: Really? Wow. Whats the name of that? Ive never read the comics (certainly not that one;Im no copycat!) but lately Ive had the urge to try them. Especially the ones where on the cover you can squint and pretend he\'s Hugh Jackman...Mmmh...Hugh...Anyway, thank you!!!! >hugs<
I knew there was a reason you are on my list of favourite authors, and this story is definitely it! Awesome first chapter - this really has potential and I'm looking forward to reading more! Loved the way you have portrayed Logan - his introduction is suitably chilling!
Hope you continue soon!
Author's Response: Oh! I cant begin to tell you how great that is to hear. Im so glad you like it. Thank you! >hugs< The next chapter should be up by Wednesday......Btw, (and I was just curious, it doesnt bother me at all) did you know how the star ratings work? I just figured them out. Each number equals a half star. So 6=3 stars.
Another powerful chapter. Too many writers try to skirt away from what Logan does best - he's a killer through and through, however reluctantly he does it - but you have captured this side of him perfectly without being too melodramatic or over the top.
I am loving this story! Hope you continue soon.
Author's Response: Oh, dear lord thank you! I was worried that people would not like the gorier parts of this. Your review helped me finish the scene I was struggling with; thanks to you the third chapter will be up tomorrow. >hugs< Thankyouthankyouthankyou!
Sorry for not replying and letting you know the number of the Wolverine comic you asked for, but once again life intruded upon my fantasy world! (We're decorating!!) Anyway, thankfully annie77 sorted out the issue number problem! It's a great story, check it out!
Once again, this was an awesome chapter and I feel hugely sorry for Marie. You managed to fill her back-story with such detail that it was easy to see the grubby little apartment with the mind's-eye and to imagine her horror at what her father has been doing to her. You have incredible talent and I am in awe!
Looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Oh, its fine. I was in no particular hurry. :~) I am so glad you liked the chapter. Thank you, as always, for reviewing. >hugs<
I must have been holding my breath through most of this chapter because when I finished reading I let it all out in a rush. That was a seriously awesome chapter - such a terrible thing has been done to Marie and yet you handled the situation with such tenderness. You have never written Logan better than in this chapter - honestly you should be proud of yourself.
And yes, I'll take the offer of the naked Hugh Jackman! Forget the puppy and candy though - I've got cats and a too-fat husband!!
Author's Response: >wild screaming & jumping up and down< Thank you. This was wonderful to hear. Your Hugh is on his way.
Like I said over on the other site, this is an amazingly awesome story. I just love how you write - your style is so easy, yet incredibly descriptive - some of your sentences bring actual tears to the eyes. God, I wish I could write like this!!
I love your Logan to bits - he's so manly and grrrr - but then Marie brings out his softer side so well and this is where you really excell. Their scenes together are nothing short of perfect.
Keep writing, 'cos I'm hooked!!
Author's Response: I didn\'t think I could be happier than after your last review. This has wonderfully proven me wrong. Thank you so much!!! >dancing<
Another awesome chapter, beautifully written and so full of agony for the pair of them that I just want to cry myself to sleep. But wait, what's this? Oh, she's gone into his room! And wow, she actually trusts him enough to lie beside him in bed. I am now so full of hope that I just cannot wait for the next chapter! Please update soon!!
Author's Response: Not quite fineshed agony-wise just yet. Hang tight, and thank you a billion times for this.
Wow, that was a seriously intent chapter - and I loved it! Rogue's power is obviously beginning to manifest and I can't wait to find out the ramifications of this.
As for the length of your story - one long story is okay as far as I'm concerned. I think if you spilt it up and put the rest in a sequel the idea as a whole will lose some of its impact. So I'm for keeping it as one. Although whatever you decide to do will be okay with me as long as I get to read the rest of this amazing tale!
Author's Response: I\'m so glad!! Supercalifragilisticmambouber-thank you. >bouncing<
I tend to alternate between reviewing your story here and on the other site you write for - (no particular reason, it just depends where I happen to be when your notification comes in!) - but my adoration for your story never wanes. I love this chapter - your description of the city towards the end is especially poignant and I love Logan's thoughts about fainting. He's dropped by one of the most powerful mutants on the planet and he considers it 'fainting'! Bless him!!
And now I presume he's off home to Xavier's? Looking forward to the rest of the team meeting 'his girl'!!
Author's Response: I\'m ubberly grateful for it, on both sites (though the WRFA is my favorite; it never screws up my format). Thank you very much. I\'m always excited to hear from you.
When the notification of your story came in I was busy reorganising my Farmville farm! But dropped everything in order to read the latest chapter!!
And what a chapter!! In reality, a transition of sorts, between leaving and arriving, but so full of the incredible eye for detail I have come to know you possess. Once again, I am almost moved to tears with your words.
Incidentally, it's Hugh Jackman's birthday today!! Time to celebrate!!
Author's Response: I thought it was on the 17th!!!!! >stamps foot, throws tantrum< Damnitdamnitdamnit! I was going to bake creepy little cupcakes to celebrate. >sigh< Next year. :~P Im sorry to pull you away from your farm, but I swear I\'m much more grateful than the virtual horses. Thank you+a hug+cookies.
Well, I never expected to see Erik in the last scene! Kudos to you for taking me by surprise!
You say you like lines to be quoted back to you? Well, my favourite in this chapter is something so simple that it probably hasn't occurred to anyone else, but which I absolutely loved - "The glass was so shimmery with moisture that it appeared as water that had merely decided to stand up." So descriptive!! How the heck do you do it?!!
Loved this latest chapter as always - intrigued by Erik's involvement in the school and looking forward to finding out how Marie fits in! Keep going!!
Author's Response: Am so, so happy you feel that way. >does Happy Dance-cross between Irish jig and Oompa Loompa theme< >hugs< You\'re wonderful.
I loved this! Yes, it's dark but beautifully written and brings out Logan's feral side perfectly. Very original ending with Rogue falling prey to the animal side of his nature, but also very thought-provoking. Would love to read more!
Author's Response: i suppose i couldn\'t see it ending any other way. also can\'t see there being more to it. It is a fairytale, after all. glad you enjoyed it though (your review is much appreciated, lol)and thanks
Well, you've definitely got my interest piqued with this first chapter - looking forward to reading more!
