Barely Legal Since 2000
I love the depth of this story--- so much going on in people's heads, hearts, histories. And I will absolutely forgive the long delay... as soon as there's another chapter up! :)
No crap, trouble! Boy, this has the T-word written all over it backwards, forwards and diagonally. Yippee! :) Thanks for the intriguing plot twist. And don't feel you have to hold out on us! I am always very grateful for swift-posters, having little self-discipline and an over abundance of curiosity myself.
Author's Response: Yep, I think there will be complications. And see, you proved my theory, though, by only reviewing the second chapter! You get more reviews if you hold out between updates, but I just don\'t have the fortitude. ;-) Thanks so much for reviewing, and I\'m happy to satisfy your curiosity as quickly as I can!
Hobbits do do it better. Damn. Good story. I like the differing points of view, the fairly sympathetic rendition of Jean (because, yeah, you want what you want, you know?), and the inclusion of one of my new favorite characters-- Captain America. Thanks for this story... now, where's the next? :)
Author's Response: hey hun, good to hear from you. glad to hear you liked this, and also glad you liked the jean sympathy which isn\'t always apparent among us WRFAers, lol. have to say Cap is one of my new favourite characters too. and as for where my other stories are- i\'m in the middle of 3 at the mo\', cut me some slack! ;-) hobbits away, hey!
Whoop! What a wild ride, and a very satisfying ending. :) Thanks for the great story! Looking forward to the next one...
Author's Response: So glad you liked it! Thanks so much for reviewing! You didn\'t have to wait long for the next one, did you? ;-)
Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!! This story is *so* good! I've been trying to login to review it for a week, but wasn't able to manage it till tonight. And this chapter is my favorite!!! Victor is definitely the scary dude from her memory, and I am seriously intrigued by the mob angle. Please, please, PUH-LEEZ update soon!!!
Author's Response: I will try! Thank you so much for the review - especially after all you went through to get it written!
Hooray! That's about as happy-ever-after as you can get with those two. Thank goodness. One thing I don't understand is, why did Marie's dad want her back? It didn't seem to me that he really cared about her all that much. So what good would it have done for her to be back? Maybe I just didn't read closely enough; I'll just go back and reread their happy-ever-after. :)
Author's Response: I debated whether or not to put some in there from Owen\'s perspective - maybe I\'ll add something. As I saw it, in this moment, Owen is remorseful for what Victor did but, deep down, he feels more responsible for making a made a bad judgement call putting Victor in the place he did. Owen is a posessive man and Marie is more his property than a beloved daughter. He loves her, but he also sees her value in terms of securing his empire by marrying her to someone who can take over. He wanted her to come back so that he could maintain face and have her back in the fold. Thank you so much for reviewing!
YES! I love kick-ass, more than anything probably. I wonder how poor Warren's gonna respond to this latest revelation. Puh-LEEZ update soon!
Author's Response: I\'m not sure I\'m going to address the issue with Warren and his father....I\'ll have to think about that. It seems like a whole different story in and of itself. lol..GLad you enjoyed!
I am so grateful that you update pretty fast, cuz seriously here folks, this is *intense*. INTENSE. I want to add my voice to the chorus on how awesome Jubilee is. SO sharp, that girl. Thanks for bringing her sassiness into the mix.
Author's Response: Jubilee is all kinds of fun! And I do appreciate everyone enjoying how quickly the chapters are going up, believe me. I hope you\'re up for the next couple of chapters. Because they are going FULL!
Oh that's perfect! I love how Rogue makes the conscious choice to take Creed's healing. Very strategic, particularly considering her escape. I love kick-ass Rogue.
Author's Response: That\'s the key to a Four, that\'s what I wanted to show. How she had to make the choice, as tough as it is...as dangerous. Thanks so much for the review! I love kick-ass Rogue too!
Sigh. Thanks. I love closure. And how you had Rogue save herself, but Logan still come to the rescue. Sigh.
Author's Response: Best of both worlds, yes. Swoon worthy and empowering at the same time....my fav! Thanks!
Intriguing. I particularly like how Marie's checking around to see what she can skewer Victor with. This is a Victor I'm going to have to get used to--- unaccustomed to his being all responsible. :) Looking forward to the next installment!
Wahoo! A new chapter! I've been checking the site obsessively for this story (and a couple others-- it seems like everyone's got really busy all of a sudden and don't remember that there are people out there in fan-dom who are anxiously waiting to learn What Happens Next), and I was thrilled when I saw you'd updated. The new chapter was very satisfying. I enjoyed reading Logan's perspective, and learning a bit more about his murky past. I think my favorite part is when Rogue says, "I know that other name -- Wolverine. And I know that it’s not really who you are. I mean it is, but it isn’t. Just like I’m not Rogue, but I am." Awkward, just like she must feel, but so apt and telling. Great!
Author's Response: :-D So glad you liked the chapter. Thanks so much for reviewing!
Yeah, another chapter! I really like how easy they are together. And the bit about badgers... does the Washington Zoo really not have them? :) Thanks for the update!
Author's Response: Yes, apparently the Washington Zoo does NOT have badgers! I had to look it up. ;-) I was prepared to write it that she went to the zoo but the badgers didn\'t come out so she never saw them. Thanks for the review!
Another great chapter. I think my favorite part is when she's trying to figure out what kind of animal the carcasses are. :) I would have no clue! Thanks for the quick update and keep them coming!
Author's Response: Yeah. It was funny, I had this scene in mind pretty much from the time I thought of the story concept. The badger stuff just came up spur of the moment. So while I was writing this chapter Syrin was reading it and was like, \"NO! He killed the badgers!?\" i hadn\'t even thought of that. True enough, without their skin who knows what a bunny looks like? Thanks for reviewing!
"Do you want this?" Heck yeah! :) Thanks heaps for the update!
Author's Response: I know, right?! If Marie had been like, \"Um, no thanks,\" we would have all hunted her down mercilessly. Luckily, the girl has sense. Thanks heaps for the review!
Go, Rogue, go! Go save Logan! Write, Doctorg, write! I'm going on a roadtrip in a coupla days and won't have access to the internet, and it will be so hard to wait SOOO long to read an update. :)
Author's Response: Aw, have a great time on your road trip! I\'ll look forward to your reaction to the updates, whenever you\'re able to read them. :-) Thanks for reviewing!
I've been keeping up with your story and eagerly awaiting updates, but seem to have slacked in my reviewing-- sorry! I just wanted to tell you that I really liked this chapter. You did a great job of illustrating how in tune with Logan Rogue is, and how she's dealing with a past of her own. Well done!
Oh no! Something is intruding on lovely, warm, Christmasy goodness! (Okay, so I like drama and action, and I think I'm ready for them, but you painted such a lovely, peaceful picture it's hard to give it up.) Thanks for the quick update. I wouldn't mind another one. :)
Awesome, awesome, awesome! I did *not* see the whole Proteus thing coming and I love the drama and action. Can't wait for more!
So, I haven't reviewed in forever, but I've definitely been following the story and am so satisfied with the happy ending. I'm especially glad that the return to the mansion didn't become a whole new drama, but instead allowed for a resolution of the Proteus issue and a happy-ever-after way for Rogue and Wolverine to stay at the mansion without actually having to live there. Thanks for the great story!
Yeah, something new by tinhutlady! I really enjoy your stories, and was happy to see this today. I love how you characterize Logan and Rogue, but in this story, I think Xavier is my favorite. :)
Author's Response: LOL Yes, he was miserably adorable and quite the matchmaker in this one.
