The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Awww, these two are so heartbreakingly wounded. Both wanting to be accepted by the other so so badly. I really love this story. And the pace is perfect.
And I really like Frost. Wonderful poem choice. Every time I see woods with freshly fallen snow I think: the woods are lovely, dark and deep. And I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep. (or something like that)
Author's Response: Yes, you have perfectly described the delicious angst that is Rogan. I'm so glad you like the pace, I was worried that people would get impatient. Yes, the Robert Frost thing was a total coincidence. I thought of the "mortal stakes" stanza when she was wood-chopping...I just wanted some kind of stream-of-consciousness for Marie's thoughts. And then, when she was taking a book to read, it made sense since she thought about looking for it. Then I wanted to show Logan mooning over something of hers, and decided I'd look online to figure out what other poems were in the first edition of that collection. It was really hard to find the info, but I found a brief description, and that one sounded just perfect. It really fit the whole "winter is coming" creepy theme I was trying to set in motion, for reasons that are already probably obvious if you're caught up.
Their interaction makes me melt in happiness a little.
Okay. A lot. ;)
Loved this chapter. I'm ready for him to move in!
Author's Response: Ha, I got you there...what, five chapters later? ;-) Thanks for reviewing!
oh please don't ever stop writing
you are a WRFA jewel
i love every story
and would be sad if you stopped
Author's Response: Aw, you wrote me a poem! Thanks so much...I will definitely try to keep writing! Thanks for the review.
Yowsers! I LOVE IT!!! This has to be the best chappie yet :D They're each SO sure that the other couldn't POSSIBLY care two bits for them, they don't deserve it, blah blah, and the way you just snuck it up them was delicious! And Marie is finally starting to achieve her goal of forgetting her skin, which is after all why she dumped her ass out there in the middle of nowhere in the first place! And throwing 'Desert Places' in just made it all the more awesome. If ever a poem sums up Logan AND Marie it's that one. And it's so easy to think of a desert in conventional sense, sand sun and no water, but really a desert is merely a 'place' where life cannot flourish. In their most fundamental incarnations, both Marie and Logan fit that bill to a T, they live in the physical sense, their bodies breathe and they eat etc, but their souls are a desert, they are bereft of life, they merely exist. I really think that is one of the most primitive appeals for me with this pairing, that it is a joining of two emptiness-es, to create a wonderful and vibrant fulfillment. Kiyaa, look at me waxing all philosophical LOL!
I can't wait for more. You're spoiling me, my dear, utterly spoiling me with the yumminess that is this story!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it. Yes, I knew right from the start that their actual interactions with each other would be kind of limited, so a lot of the character development (regarding how they feel about each other) has to take place through their inner monologues. A very different style for me. I was also really excited about "Desert Places" -- see my response to the other review, it was total serendipity that I ran across that (just looking for whatever poem was in the same first edition volume as "Two Tramps...") and I was so excited! Thanks again for your lovely review...you are definitely spoiling me as well!
Update! Yay! I about squealed with happiness when I saw there were 2 updates!
Author's Response: Then we're even, I squeal with happiness when I see I have a review! :-) Thanks!
"You like him." hehe, I like him, too :D
Awesome. I love that Marie finally managed to lure Logan out of the woods and onto her porch. And the ending is priceless: "Not for beer. For you." *swoon* They'll make beautiful babies.
Yeah, another chapter! I really like how easy they are together. And the bit about badgers... does the Washington Zoo really not have them? :) Thanks for the update!
Author's Response: Yes, apparently the Washington Zoo does NOT have badgers! I had to look it up. ;-) I was prepared to write it that she went to the zoo but the badgers didn't come out so she never saw them. Thanks for the review!
oooooo! ;D
Author's Response: Ahhhhhh! :-D
Great Chapter! I love how you have them coming together.
Author's Response: So glad you're liking it! Thanks for reviewing!
I love this chapter! I know I sound like a broken record but it's really true. It's not rushed or frantic or anything, but it sure doesn't feel like "filler", it feels like finally these two mostly untamed individuals are comfortable enough with each other to just BE with each other. Don't have to have big, deep meaningful convo, but they are just content to sit in silence with each other, and ask the occasional question as it occurs to them. Really nice. I'm loving the pacing of the story and the slow unraveling of the mystery that is Logan. Very happy with this. And Syrin should be a happy camper: no dumpsters for miles! LOL! ;)
Author's Response: Well, if it's a broken record, it's playing my tune. ;-) I'm so glad you liked the pace of this. I get very insecure when there's neither action or smut. :-D
Omg, best update ever!!!!
They are so awesome together. *melts*
On a side note, I'm so glad that annoying stuff is off the top of the screen now.
Author's Response: Aw, so glad you liked it. And yes -- mad props to springbok for fixing the error messages! Thanks for reviewing!
Absolutely love the progression, You have become one of those authors that all I have to do is see your name and I know I'll love the story
Author's Response: Aw, such a compliment! Thanks so much for reviewing!
I LOVE your fic! Put Rogue and Wolverine in the woods alone, and I'm a happy camper. You've really touched on their personalities wonderfully and this alternative meeting is great! It creates so much potential in regards to the plot. Keep up the awesome work! I avidly await each and every update!
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it! Yes, you pretty much can't go wrong with Rogue and Wolverine hold up in the woods together, huh? Thanks for the review!
Wahoo! A new chapter! I've been checking the site obsessively for this story (and a couple others-- it seems like everyone's got really busy all of a sudden and don't remember that there are people out there in fan-dom who are anxiously waiting to learn What Happens Next), and I was thrilled when I saw you'd updated. The new chapter was very satisfying. I enjoyed reading Logan's perspective, and learning a bit more about his murky past. I think my favorite part is when Rogue says, "I know that other name -- Wolverine. And I know that it’s not really who you are. I mean it is, but it isn’t. Just like I’m not Rogue, but I am." Awkward, just like she must feel, but so apt and telling. Great!
Author's Response: :-D So glad you liked the chapter. Thanks so much for reviewing!
Oh my....
I havent been able to keep my mind off of this fic. So glad you are keeping steady updates!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for being such a great reviewer!

Author's Response: Yes, beer is a great motivator. Or bait when you are hunting the wild Wolverine. Thanks for reviewing!
Heh. Excellent. You getem' girl! (more soon please ;)
Author's Response: :-D Oh, she will. Trust me, she will. Thanks for reviewing!
OMG! You have no idea how excited I was to see an update!!!! Lol, I should be preparing to photograph a client's wedding, but just had to read this first. I love this story!!!! Can't wait for the next part!
Author's Response: :-D Hope the bride had lovely weather. Thanks for reviewing!
Great chapter!
Author's Response: So glad you liked it. Thanks for reviewing!
I'm really enjoying this. How funny -- I thought I'd added this to my Favorites way back when you first posted it. So it was a treat to come back and find six whole chapters to read when I'd only seen the first one. Glad the site's at least letting people post in the right field now.
Author's Response: Yes, so happy to have the WRFA back in action. Glad I was able to give you a good chunk of chapters. :-) Thanks for reviewing!
Awesome premise for your fic! Hope you update soon! Can't wait for the next chapter!
Author's Response: I'm glad you are liking it...this was a pretty pivotal chapter. Thanks for reviewing!
