I've read this on fanfiction.net, and decided, on a whim, to re-read it here. I've forgotten how wonderful this story is! This chapter was just hot (yes!) but the whole story is just perfectly written, plotted, spaced, etc. etc. etc. I'm so glad I found it again. I'm in awe of your talent!

"“And maybe a little bit of Rogue, because let me tell you, sugar, the two of us are all kinds of pissed off.”

and

"
“Convincing you that you’re not the Big Bad Wolf may be a little harder, so let’s start with the easy one. The part where I’m not a little girl, skippin’ through the forest, takin’ cookies to Grandma.”

Are just wonderful, absolutely brilliant. You do Logan/Marie dialogue superbly, as natural as skin, with such ease avoiding the stilted effect that plagues even the most talented of writers.

...this time in a delicious slick invasion. Ohhhh, sweet jesusflippinpancakes. I cannot tell you how much I love this scene, especially this line snippet. I'm head-over-heels-Tiffany-ring-first-flight-to-Vegas-and-the-quickest-appointment-with-an-Elvis-impersonating-priest in love.

"...the words dissolved into excited huffs and gasps.. That "dissolved" was just perfect, really making the line.

Waaaaaaaay too many more that deserves it's place in this little text box, so lets just say that every line after the last is worship-worthy. Definitely in my top ten of smut scenes.

Author's Response: So glad you liked it! Smut is definitely the hardest thing for me to write, I feel like I'm writing in cliches no matter what, so it's great to hear that it ended up okay.

I completely agree with Shuttlelauncher. Ignore the rare negative comments or take them with a huge mountain of salt. Personally, I've enjoyed every single chapter of this story. I'm hoping that when you finish this one, you'll have more stories that you'll share on this site. You're a talented writer and I give you ton of credit for putting your work out there for others to read and comment on. Hell, I have a hard enough time writing a review, I can't imagine trying to write a story! So thanks for sharing your talent with us. Oh, and for what it's worth, I set you up as a favorite author so I can get alerts when you post new stuff.

Author's Response: Aw, you guys are the best! I have no idea about more stories, but then again I didn't know I had ideas for the three I've done so far until I had them, so I guess we'll see! And the first one I never actually planned to post anywhere -- it was more "therapy" for me to write "Full Circle" as an epilogue to RoseSumner's brilliant "Overlap," and then when I emailed it to her stalker-style she led me here and encouraged me to post it. It's hard to find time to write, but I've really enjoyed it, so if I have another story idea I'll try to write it. In the meantime, I'll be happy just reading some of the amazing stuff that is being posted by other authors right now. It's so exciting to be on someone's favorite author list -- that just makes my day. And writing reviews may be hard for you, but they are appreciated more than you can ever know!

I hate that there are only a few chapters left but I hope that means we can look forward to new and exciting stories from you! I've loved this story and I hope you don't let any of the unneeded criticism ( yeah, You know who you are! ) get into your head. Out of over 100 reviews for this story, the same few people have mostly negative
comments...I say, if you've got the guts to write something and put it out there for other people to enjoy, then I can't criticize you even if the story isn't to my taste ( which this one definitely is! )! Keep up the great work! End of rant ; )

Author's Response: Aw, that's really sweet of you to say. I'll admit, the negative comments do affect me *way* more than they should, but only for a short time and then I'm able to shake them off. And although I may not love the tone of them sometimes, when people who post a bad review tell you *what* they don't like it does give valuable insight into potential pitfalls for the story, and probably did on some level cause me to rethink a few chapters in a way that turned out better for the experience. Everyone on this site has been so incredibly receptive to my little baby steps into fanfic, I definitely don't expect all positive feedback. I actually just wrote the last scene -- a little bit of foof that might be surprising change of tone given the rest of the story, and I've written the first scene after The Showdown, so now I just have to get from point A to point D. I don't know about other stories, but I had no idea I had the first three in me either, so I guess we'll see. Thanks again for all your kind words...I'd weather 100 bad reviews to hear something like that!

So, I just reread the chapter to refresh my memory- fine, ok, I'll admit it, it also had somethin to do with that yummy smut- and I gotta say, it's something that doesn't deteriorate when you reread it. That was an awkward sentence, but I can't seem to bother to make it un-awkward, I still have thoughts of spooning... With Logan... And all that comes (hehe I'm so punny) before, fresh in my mind.

I love Marie saying she trusts him not to get her pregnant.

You ever think how lucky it is he has that healing factor? Besides the obvious reasons of not-dying and more sex, he would probably have at least a couple of STDs at this point, considering how many barflies he's done. Just a thought

Author's Response: Aw, thanks! So sweet of you to leave another (!) review. :-D Yeah, I was wondering if I should make it more clear that Logan is disease-free by mutation because I sure know condoms aren't just to prevent babies, but I figured in the world where superhealer is a common term that kind of thing is taken for granted. And he did buy condoms for the barflies, but I figured it was mostly because he knew it would save explanations he wouldn't be willing to make anyway. Yeah, I've spent way too much time thinking about the details of Logan's sex life. Tough job.

Hotness and tenderness at the same time. I like how Marie didn't let me get away with the leaving business, ha.

I really liked how you effectively mixed the two types of Logan/Wolverine in one smutty chapter as few writers do. It's realistic in that no one is just one type, especially Logan.

I love the line, "She met his eyes, startled, and saw the hint of shame they always held when he spoke of his more animal side." It really speaks to the true comic book character.

I also like that although it's from Marie's POV, you can tell what Logan's feeling by his emotive eyes and how he reacts to Marie. well done. continue by all means ;)

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it!

ok,this is my new favoritest chapter! the bit where he says 'don't leave me'? le sigh!!! and him licking her shoulder bite, like a mating mark or something, so sweet and smexy! i love possessive logan! can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Glad you liked it! I have developed a plan, and I think we're about three chapters from the end. Both sad and exciting (for me at least!).

You said that you were worried that you had Logan talking too much but I think it really works here. He's doing things that he wouldn't do because of Marie. Like telling her that he's trash and that she shouldn't tie herself to him, or telling her that he's a monster so she can deal with absorbing Sabertooth. I think the other telling things like contacting Xavier and letting him read his mind show how devoted he is to Marie and how he'd do anything for her - even if it goes against his instincts and takes him out of his comfort zone. So the fact that he opens up to her and puts himself in emotional/physical harm for her makes perfect sense to me. Doing all of this doesn't seem out character to me because of how he feels about her. It seems very real and believable to me.

Author's Response: I'm so glad that came across, that's exactly what I was going for! :-D

I'm still high from this chapter...I will provide a proper review when I come back down to earth.

Author's Response: I think it was WitchBaby who said that I'm not a tease if I eventually deliver...with all the teasing I've been doing, I figured you guys deserved a big ol' special delivery of Roganliciousness. :-D So glad you liked it.

Shit damn fuck hell YES!!! Also? Guh...and drool. And maybe a whimper or ten. It's your own fault you know. If you wanted coherent reviews you shouldn't have written such perfect schmexiness. I am guhhhhhhhh.

~Mia

P.S. The fact that this was dedicated to me made me feel all sorts of guilty for not having been on my computer for a few days and not reviewing the last chapter because I was intent on devouring this one. Thank you, btw. I'm still blushing. From all manner of things. Oh, and I nearly never rate a chapter as a 10. But guess what? Yeah.

Author's Response: Ha! I guess you liked it then? ;-) Um, don't feel guilty because you actually have a life and weren't hanging around the computer on New Year's Eve like lame old me. :-D Besides, as some of my wonderful reviewers today show, it's never too late to review old chapters (hint, hint). I don't have a solid plan for the next chapter, maybe I'll throw in a little morning-after sex just for you. I mean, we all know what we would do if we woke up with naked Logan, right? ;-)

Aww I realize now that this is the last chapter so far! But I gotta say, what a great time to stop! Lol. So I will be anxiously awaiting the next chapter as I recover from the puddle I'm in.
How much longer do you plan to make this story?

Author's Response: Aw, glad you liked it -- and made it all the way to the end without getting bored! I would have been quite devastated if you had been like, "Okay, enough of this story already, bye!" halfway through! I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't have the whole story planned out from the start. I first had the idea of it and that made me think it up pretty much through "The Beer." Then I had to throw some obstacles their way to keep them together, and that along with the idea of Feral!Marie smut carried me through to "The Stranger." Since then I've been making it up a few chapters at a time. I realize it's getting ridiculously long, though, so I think a few more chapters should tie it up. I do have some idea why the military and Magneto are after Logan, but how that's going to play out exactly will be news to me. :-)

Yeah, like you said in your response, Marie is more mature and understands inner demons. I love that about your story. They are both strong and mature enough to understand each and try to work things out. Like in The Drive, he is strong enough to give her some space but also to confront her. I especially liked the line where he asks her try and explain anyway because it's better than what he's guessing she's thinking. And her explanation to him is great. Two mature adults talking it through. The same goes for this chapter. She confronts him with the "did you want to leave me or just think you should" line. And his response to her back is so perfect and sweet. This emotion, maturity and intense connection is fantastic and keeps me avidly reading this story and anxiously waiting for updates!

Author's Response: That's such a compliment, that's exactly what I'm trying to convey. They both have their demons/insecurities/baggage, but they are calling each other on it at different times. It's been especially hard to do that for Logan, since he's not a big talker. I was worried about that part in "The Drive" you mention when he talks about himself, because it's like five sentences in a row for Logan, and I was thinking, "That's too much talking for him!" :-D But I like that he'll do something out of character, like talk about himself, or seek out help from others, if it's to help Marie. It makes me all warm and fuzzy. ;-)

Wow! Awesome chapter! Very very hot! Love how Marie confronted Logan and how he broke down and begged her not to leave him. Again Awesome chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks! I was worried that it would seem a little too sudden of a switcharound for Logan, but in my mind he had already realized how much he needed Marie and had f*cked it up in the previous chapter, so he didn't really need much convincing when she showed up to give him a second chance.

Oh no, another update ALREADY?!? That means I finally have to review *sighs the lazy reader*.
Another great Rogue here, yayy for the strong ladies at last! And yes, deep from my own experience: understanding doesn't equal accepting. Cheers to Marie for understanding that.
And cheers to you for a GREAT stor, good plot, great character writing, and not least good English (much gratified with that... )

Author's Response: Yay for a new reviewer! Yeah, I think Rogue knows Logan is being so obtuse because he really sees himself as "unlovable", but she still wants to smack him upside the head for ditching her. :-) I'm glad you are liking the "strong Rogue." I feel like the chapters kind of flip back and forth between a very gutsy Rogue and a very vulnerable one, but I'm hoping to convey that she's both -- some of it true guts, some of it Rogue-style bravado, and then underneath there's still vulnerable Marie. I think these characters are both so interesting because of their contradictions -- Rogue's mutation has the potential for incredible power and yet she is incredibly vulnerable because of the way it works and how it isolated her from others. And then of course all the contradictions that make up Logan/Wolverine. Okay, this is turning into an essay, I'll stop now. Thanks for your review!

Wonderful smut, the image of Scott ckutching his pearls came this close to having me spew my drink on the moniter!Really enjoying the role reversal. I always thought Rogue was tougher than the movie portrayed her.

Author's Response: Glad you liked the chapter! Yeah, I wasn't sure if people would be familiar enough with that phrase, but I just had to use it because it cracked me up. In my mind, this Rogue is in a very different place from the movie one -- I'm repeating my response to the previous review, but she's older, she's survived the lab, she's gained control over her own power and those of others, she's been in the role of rescuer rather than the rescued for several years. I do love reading stories where Rogue is very vulnerable and Logan is very protective, but for this story I'm trying to strike a balance where they both take the stronger role at different times.

Damn! That was smokin' hot. Actually, smokin' hot is an understatement! ..faints..

I'm glad she understands him so well and can see that he really cares about her and doesn't want to hurt her. Awesome!

Author's Response: Yay! Glad you liked it. Yeah, it's been interesting writing Rogue *without* her absorbing Logan's personality to give her some guide, but hopefully he's been bad-mouthing himself enough to give her an idea why he's so prone to running. And in my mind this Rogue, especially with the background of her lab experiences, age, and greater control of powers is a little more mature and insightful regarding inner demons.

That was hotter and had a better jolt then my two cups of coffee this morning. If you could produce a chapter like this every morning, you may just put Starbucks out of business. More please.

Author's Response: Aw, thanks! :-) That one took me all long weekend, so one a day might be a bit much. :-) I'll work on more, though. I never expected this story to be so long, but I guess that's what happens when you start something without knowing where you're taking it...
