Author's Response: Thanks! Poor Rogue. Lying was a bad decision. Without her lies, they at least would've been a solid unit. As it is, Logan is at a loss.

So close to the original, but so much better. Your Rogue is wonderful. She's got the attitude she always should have had with the rest of the world. I also like the underlying disapproval you have going on with the "grownups" and the dynamic duo. Thanks for the update!
Author's Response: You're very welcome! I like to think the writers would've given her the attitude if they hadn't had to cram in fifteen hundred characters in two hours. The disapproval angle is a thin line, so it's good to hear it worked for you. :)

great roller coaster ride.. Logan wanting to protect her from the helicopter people, then getting angry that she lied to him, then feeling sorry for her when she says she's a monster, then Marie wanting to save him from 'Fangs', and being loyal to him when he's unconscious. Great stuff!
and gotta love that nickname.. 'Fangs' ;o)

Really liking this story.. your characterisation and descriptions are very good!
Great opening chapter, i like how Logan takes it personal when Marie flinches from him and tries to push her boundaris later by asking for a kiss, then feels like a right old letch when he finds out her real age. Ha ha.
Then in the 3rd chapter he moves on to smacking on Jean 'cause at least she's old enough. Brilliant!
The only thing I didn't like so much was the amount of extracts from the movie in the 3rd chapter, seemed a bit much, but I guess you want to weave your own story into it.
Looking forward to reading more..
Author's Response: The weaving is something I was hesitating over. On one hand, I want to keep that AU feel. On the other...there are just parts of the movie I've always wanted to turn Rogan. So by placing them in the context of this story, I can totally do that. *g* I can understand how it feels repetitive, though. But glad you don't mind the Logan/Jean so much. She is a necessary evil -- er, I mean distraction. Hee.

Author's Response: Very true. But, unfortunately, I have to admit it's kind of a good social norm that we're trained to be squicked out by the idea of a 35(ish) man and a 17 year-old girl. But then if the 17 year-old happens to have the life experience of, say, a dozen older people and just happens to have grown up faster than usual due to some hard knocks...Well, then we need to start calling off the bets. ;)

Another great start to what I know will be a wonderful story. It's quite possible this is my favorite chapter of the series thus far. I was interested to see how Marie was going to handle holding herself back from touching Logan, and you've done a masterful job portraying the difficulty both parties have in restraining themselves. Love it. Looking forward to the next chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you! Rogue has a lot of restraint in X2, telling Bobby that she doesn't want to hurt him, etc., so I definitely wanted to show sort of the psychosis behind that fear. But, since it's Logan we're talking about here, she's more willing to push the envelope. *g* More soon!

Awesome continuation! I'm just going to assume that Rogue is going to get her chance to tease Logan again... otherwise her leaving would have been a sad scene. Good writing on your part.
Author's Response: Haha, Rogue will always tease Logan. From that "Suddenly, my life doesn't look so bad," in the truck in X1 to that "Aren't you going to tell me to go upstairs?" in X3, giving Logan crap is just what Rogue does. ;)
