Barely Legal Since 2000
You might like Jean but Not me. lol I never liked her. I always love with the story makes her a bitch. lol. That being said, LOL on Marie and her need to have Logan threaten to claw everyone. And uh-oh, Jean causing Marie pain or distress is NOT a good way to introduce her to the x-men. Reminds me of the Eighteen series by Terri when Marie looses her memory and then Jean causes her injury by trying to get into her head. Anyway, Love the chapter! Update soon!!!
Author's Response: I don't think I read that far into the eighteen series. But I might have. I have issues with amnesia fics. It's not the amnesia itself, it's the pain that it causes those left behind who know. Jean is going to come across as... she can't help helping despite if it causes problems or not, because it's still helping. I can enjoy Jean as a bitch as much as the next fangirl, but I think she suffers from her Comic persona much worse than Logan does. If you look to an authors note below this one, two I think, I wrote a rant-book on the comic verse and how I think that effects them in the movie-verse.
Thanks for reviewing though. I'm glad you're enjoying the story.
Jean is just Jean so she can't help being overly....while something I could never put my finger on but made me not like her, how's that?
Author's Response: See, I've liked her for as long as I remember. I always felt that Logan perused her very aggressively, and that, more than anything (excluding the Phoenix force obviously) was one of the reasons she eventually buckled. Imagine having a man, a handsome, dangerous, sexually attractive powerful man completely opposite of your husband/boyfriend/fiancee trying wanting you every chance he got. Constantly trying to persuade you into giving in to your basest instincts, your wants no matter what your rational mind tells you. One who looks for you at your weakest and tries to manipulate your feelings. Now add to that a reckless alien psychic force, a husband who is sometimes gone for weeks on end, and a healthy sexual appetite. You have Jean and Logan's relationship. A convoluted mess that they tried to add the overtones to in the moves. Logan loves Jean. LOves her so much that it's probably unhealthy. Then we find out that the only reason he was ever attracted to her was because he killed the green eyes red haired girl he first love by accident but doesn't remember it. So he's constantly trying tget her back. I can't believe Rose wasn't in Origins. Brah! I've ranted. That was all comic funk. I feel that Movie-verse Jean is stuck with the stigma of her comic counterpart. But Movie-verse Logan doesn't suffer at all from his Comic persona. So, in short, I like Jean. In comic verse she fought Logan off for years only deciding to admit she had feelings for Logan when Scott was pushing her away after dealing with a very traumatic experience. She told Logan she didn't want to explore her feelings until Scott was better. Then Scott had an emotional/psychic affair with Emma, whose been in love with him for years. It's all crazy. But I think that Jean just can't keep her nose out of others people's business. She convinces herself its ok because she's trying to help, or protect others or whatever. It's her downfall. And now I've written a rant book. Sorry. Thanks for reading!
So sorry you lost all your reviews! I am really liking this -- the chemistry is awesome, and I love half-mad Rogue. Please keep updating!
Author's Response: *shrugs*Eh, it's not a big deal anymore. I'm over it. *grin* Besides, I'm getting lots of loveys from everyone now, but I do suppose that things are getting more interesting. I'm trying to keep them both in the specific backgrounds that I've created for them, and have them act accordingly. I wanted to set the president early on, Logan does what he wants, when he wants, who he wants, and how he wants and doesn't take any shit from anyone about it. Marie is completely adaptable and saner than everyone believes, but it's by choice that she lives inside her head most of the time.rnrnThanks for taking the time to review, I'm so glad to be back in the fandom!
Love, love, love this. Can't wait for more!
Author's Response: I thought to myself, if Marie keeps most of the old her trapped and safe and just exists on the little bit she's let out to hang with the others (the many many others) she won't remember the outside will she? And then I imagined that her world has been pretty much grey and pain and hurt up until now... and what would things look like? And who wouldn't become obsessed with it and everything else she pays attention to in this scene? So, I wrote it. Wow, that was winded. I'm glad you like it!
Oh yeah, you tell 'em she's yours! Poor Logan. I bet he's harder than a rock. I can't wait to read more!
I got an email you responded to my last review, but when I went to look the link was bad. Just thought you'd want to know.
Author's Response: It's probably from when WRFA ate the story and you couldn't see the review. Bleh.rnrnI know, he's all possessive. It's wonderful. I love how these just keep writing themselves. LOLrn
Awwww.... I love the image of Marie just experiencing the outside. It was really sweet. and of course at the end Marie kissing Logan as the X-men got there is a really good image. More soon please.
Author's Response: *grin* More to come later today! I thought it was about time we moved the setting to someplace without chains and bars. *grin* I'm glad you liked it, and it's about time Scott got on board with the X-Jet.
Ha! love that he is crazy about Marie. lol and ROTFL on the crazy as a mad hatter line. Loving this story so far!!!
Author's Response: I know, it's so awesome. I'm working on another one now!rn*grin* Thanks for the review! You're the first for the repost!
