Man's hubris knows no bounds. A perfect example of this hubris was to think the "cure" administered to the mutant population would actually work. Life, Logan, and circumstances out of her control show Rogue that a cure is only as lasting as she wants it to be.

Author's Response: Sorry. Like I explained earlier, this was the first, or at least one of the first fics I have ever written, and has been just sitting in the archives. Decided to brush it up a bit, but this is it. The end. You can decide yourself is it a happy one or sad.
Logan and Rogue get together but are met with misunderstanding and even resentment from the team members. They run away but things go beyond wrong when they discover Rogue is pregnant and that they will have to go back to a place they hoped to never see again.
