Barely Legal Since 2000
Oh, the yearning for the thing you're afraid to admit to out loud; to the person you want so much to want you back...it does make you tired, hopeless. Glad this road trip can continue on a happier note. And, with thanks to Hank and his magic ring.
This has always been one of my all-time favorites. So sad; so tragic; and yet a realistic look at in coping with grief and loss. This is so well-written with its short vignettes of emotionally-charged dialog...the girl...and the ghost...and one damask rose...
"Mincing like an extra from Greece?" Is that the nation or the musical ("Grease")?
Author's Response: Heh heh - well spotted! That\'s why I should use a beta more often. Most of the time I don\'t think before I type!
The curse of his healing factor...his lovers age - and eventually die; he doesn't - and time stretches on unrelenting. In this beautiful story, he always comes back to her, even though the sight of him reminds her of her frailty. There are other good stories from his point of view on this sad fact of their existence.
Funneee stuff, kiddies! Although, "prancing" and "happy to see it this small" should never, ever be attributed to Logan! One quibble...the story ends all too abruptly!
Aw...this was going so well until that OOC "Boy from Oz" reference. So NOT Logan!
Beautiful...just beautiful.
Nice little interlude here as well as a brief study on the sense of smell! Lovely!
I so enjoy stories featuring feral Logan, but this one glossed over his situation and seemed almost too easy for Marie to get him back...also this ended too soon. Oh, well....
Damn me for getting involved in yet another **bleeping** WIP that hasn't been updated in a couple of years and probably never will be finished!
Be ye warned, readers!!
Beautiful story...great character sketches of both Logan and Marie...some fine hotness...and a promising finish.
Agree with ct xfan ... Marie has Logan in her head and knows how sick and twisted Mystique is to do something like this to him...even at the cost of her own life.
Simply no words, but...oh, what beautiful words you used to craft this.
This is a powerful glimpse into Logan's constant inner pain and frustration, and doesn't really need to be spun out into a longer story. Marie is so brave here, and takes away an intimate look into Logan's true nature along with that little bit of his healing factor. I've enjoyed this story for a long time. My bad for not leaving a review before now.
Love this Logan...can't get enough of the wild animal connecting to she who sees through it all and still accepts him.
Tease...Tease? You're the tease, Bailey! Terrific fic!
Logan's hands are as sensual as the rest of him. Just because his manner might be rough, doesn't mean his hands are! I've always been surprised by writers who describe his hands as 'rough' or 'callused,' completely ignoring or forgetting that his healing factor would keep the skin of his hands as unblemished as the rest of his body. Good bit of writing here!
Very nice treatment of the whole Logan-Jean-Marie issue...
Awww,no...so, Logan winds up with Remy! Awwww, no!
Great reframing of the enduring classic, "Casablanca" and great recasting of all the main characters. Wonderful retaining of most of the original dialog! Just an imaginitive treatment, all around...congrats!
This is a fantastically imaginative, exciting, and character-driven story, nearly ruined by some occasionally awkward writing, poor grammar in spots - especially with proper usage of verbs and tenses- sometimes misleading use of pronouns, and the usual confusion in the correct use of contractions so many writers are guilty of -- your, you're, their, they're, there, etc. The nagging mistakes which continuously litter the text throughout detract from even a terrific story like this one, especially when one is gobbling it up like a starving person. I really loved the characters and the action, but too often was brought to a screeching halt with every technical glitch or awkward construction encountered. It is too good a story not to have another serious beta read and just a little judicious editing to really tighten it up. For all my criticism, however, I congratulate you on a wonderful story!
Aaaahhhh...........
...and it's all right here.
Nicely done.
Such good writing for a tough topic...admitting to himself that he really is in love; getting her to believe it. All the characters so well-written.
These first few scenes of their meeting never get old for me. Very good piece of writing!
This is a different take on how Logan's regenerative powers affected Marie. We usually just read about his saving her life and his psyche running around in her head; we don't usually think about the other little scars that are identifying marks and souvenirs of her past life going away, too. Interesting piece.
