I love this. I love the idea that Logan would freak because of the past. I am glad you didn't brag it out though, Marie figured it out and they will work forward. The Smut from Marie's perspective will be excellent I am sure. I really like the way you have put together the structure of the chapter.

I read this once last night and again this morning. I don't know if you planned it or not but the cadence and language of this chapter fits its mood. It's smoky, dark and on the edge of scary but oddly comforting. I am highly intrigued as to what Ro is up to. She is obviously Logan's friend and a trusted one if she is in the cave. I am guessing that's Kurt but I can't help but wonder what Hank would be like.

So I had great fun with the vocabulary you chose for this chapter. I had to look up both cariad and termagant. I think cariad is my new favorite term of affection. I really enjoyed the tempo of this chapter. Logan and Stray's relationship progresses before our eyes and Logan does it out of instinct. I love playing "spot the X-men". I am assuming Gold is Phoenix being Red's twin and all. The entrance of Emma completely turns the story on its ear. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

Okay so I am not completely sure who just grabbed Stray. I love the idea that it was the Phoenix that wanted Logan or that Logan was interested in (at one time) and not Jean. The gold feathers were really cool and your descriptions of that enchanted were really compelling.
One question, was it Shaw who attacked Stray? That is who I thought it was but when Gold made the comment about her pet I started to wonder?
Author's Response: hey hun, glad you enjoyed the last chapter. i have this theory (completely film-cannon based) that the phoenix and the wolverine were the two really attracted to one another; two people\'s collective ids were trying to get it on rather than the whole love-that-spans-the-ages notion. If that\'s the case then it stands to reason that the phoenix would be interested in the wolverine- or in this story\'s case- his inner beast. as for who attacked stray, this chapter answers that very question- and hopefully poses some others. so i hope you enjoy it :-) oh, and don\'t worry. Logan\'s not far away...

I know a lot of people think he\'s a light sleeper and spends every night tossing and turning with nightmares, but I kind of think he has the capacity to hunker down like a grumpy bear if he feels comfortable enough ;).
