OH MY GOD! This is one of the BEST stories I ever read on this site! It is SO heartbreaking and moving, yet so hopeful. And it's wonderfully written, expressing Marie's pain and confusion and it also show what the men in a abuse survivor's life go though, with feelings of powerlessness.
"I was just thinking." He gets up and sits next to me on the bed.
"Oh yeah? What were you thinking?"
"I wish I could touch you and everything would be better. I wish I could heal you." I smile at him and grab his hand.
"You are healing me.'
Those are the most moving words in the story.
Bravo!

Oh My GOD!!! This is beyond heartbreaking. Beyond tragic. You captured the complete devastation that Logan feels at the loss of the most important person in his life beautifully. And the fact that her skin was off because of what was supposed to be the greatest thing to happen to them, their baby, brought tears to my eyes. What a well written story.
