Umm.... okay. Me. I'm a science student who spends a disgusting amount of time reading and writing technical material. I love giving my brain a little rest by indulging in poetry, fiction, and of course fanfic. It's nice to write something without the goal of sounding like an overeducated, pompous ass, as seems to be requisite in all academia ;).

W/R is an appealing ship to me because there are so many fascinating complications with the characters' mutations and personalities. I hope you enjoy reading. Feedback is always appreciated, whether it's praise, comments, or suggestions to improve!

Sometimes love is the unrequited kind. Rogue is growing up. Logan is in love with Jean. And nothing is simple.

This. Hurt.

You hurt my heart :(.

I told myself I wasn't gonna read this story, because you were up front about what it was gonna be and I'll be damned if there ain't enough of the unrequited kind in the real world that I sure as heck don't wanna read about it in the fanfic world too.

But gah. You did such a great job with this. Just . . . tragic and real and hurtful. I certainly don't regret reading it, and the way you ended it was completely appropriate and fitting, and seemed like it came from a very emotionally real place.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know you've got a new fan, and I look forward to reading your story 'More Than a Rogue'. It seems pretty legendary in this fandom, heh. Can't wait.

Author's Response: I\'m sorry it hurt *guilt*. I\'m glad that you don\'t regret reading it, though. And I love that you felt the ending was fitting - I was quite nervous about it, so thank you! Hope you enjoy More Than a Rogue as well :o)

Taking the cure was almost the hardest thing Marie had ever done. The hardest came soon after, when she left the X-men to build a life for herself in the "baseline" world. But years later, when her mutation returns—along with some unwelcome and unethical scientists—she has to turn to the X-Men once more.

That is, if they can find her.

I really enjoyed this. Your writing style is smooth and very present-moment. I felt completely drawn in, to the point that it was even a bit difficult to read when Marie was getting prodded and jabbed! But the scene with Logan was very interesting. Can't wait to see where you take this.

Wow. The first chapter piqued my interest. But this one absolutely blew me away. I can't tell you the number of lines that drew a smile to my face, but especially these two: "While during the school year, he was perpetually annoyed, during the summer months, he was only inclined towards annoyance." and "gauging Kurt's emotions was about like contemplating the contents of a blueberry pie."

You've got a devoted reader here. I like this cocky, snarky, sarcastic Logan. Fun times! If the story stays this good, I'll even grit my teeth through a little femmeslash, heh ;)

If good karma means you writing more, I'm all on board with that. So many threads being woven into this, I'm curious to see whatnyou end up weaving with them. Even your OCs are intriguing. I especially like the interaction between Logan and Storm, though she's my favorite X-man so that ain't too surprising. Still, you wrote it very well & hinted at a lot of depth and subtleties in the characters' feelings towards each other. Please keep up the good writing. I'm enjoying this story and look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Wah. I am now depressed, you bad person! Interestingly written though. I like how it kind of hits you as a series of impressions, but taken together they tell a whole story. Uhmmm but now I need to go find a happy ending somewhere to wash away this angsty aftertaste ;).

Author's Response: Oh no! I\'m sorry you are depressed! *hands you a Logan shaped candy bar*. I\'m glad you liked the style of the story I was experimenting with a new form of writing :) Thanks so much for reviewing!

A great start. I enjoyed the first two chapters very much and look forward to reading the rest. I like the concept as well as your writing style and grasp of the characters. This promises to be a great story :).

"I thought I recognized those surly brainwaves." Hee! I liked the interaction between Logan and Jean. I just never tire of seeing her make a total bitch out of herself *sighs happily*. The scene between Scott and Rogue was interesting too. The only thing that could've made it better was jealous!Logan storming in and claiming Rogue for his own in a whirl of muscles, piercing hazel eyes, and yummy growly sounds. Alas, I will be patient. *runs off to read the next chapter*

Author's Response: Oh, don\'t worry, there\'s plenty of growly, possessive Logan in future chapters. ;) Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Aw. And in the span of 3000 words you take me from schadenfreude to genuine sympathy. Poor Jean =/. I do like how dynamic the characters are in this--Jean, Scott, Rogue, Logan--all of them changing and trying to cope with that change. Good stuff. Your dialogue is great too, easy to read and I can really hear their voices come through. Can't wait to read more soon :)

Author's Response: Thank you! And you taught me a new word. :p I\'m glad you like it, I\'m really enjoying writing this and I\'m happy you all are likeing where it\'s going. :)

Ooh I liked the Rogue & Wolverine vs. Carol fight scene. Intense. "Take me to bed, cowboy." "Fuckin' hell yeah" Yeehaw, forgive me for not leaving a longer review, but I'm pretty eager to get on to the next chapter *smirk*. Great writing.

Author's Response: Well, thanks for taking time to review in the middle! :)

I ain't a slick talker like Scott and I sure as hell ain't a brain like Hank. This…you and me right now…that's how I can show you how much I love you.

*Melts into a puddle*

Guh. Um it took me a minute to pick myself up off the floor. So achingly sweet. And then that hint of Jean at the end =/. Gah, you've really got me feeling for her. I hope she gets some measure of control over the Phoenix. Uh preferably without maiming Rogue in the process. I'm on the edge of my seat--but alas, work to do. I'll have to read the next chap tonight. Great writing, as usual!

Author's Response: You know, I did enjoy writing that line a lot. I thought it just kind of captured Logan for me. Hope you like where the story is going! :)

I loved this chapter. Hard to believe this story hasn't gotten more reviews. The pacing is great. There's never been a dull moment. I'm really intrigued to see what happens with Jean now. Hopefully Rogue doesn't have to kill her to stop her =/. Eep! Now I gotta go read and find out. Oh, btw, "All he wanted right now was a shower and Marie. And not necessarily in that order." Loved that line.

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you! Really glad you\'re enjoying it. :) Sure, I\'d love more reviews, but I write them for me and the reviews are a plus. ;)

Well, that was intense. I'm glad to see Jean's okay, but YIKES for naked, battered, and severely burned Rogue. Gah, I wish I could think of a more thoughtful review, but I'm too eager to get to the next chapter and see what happens.

Author's Response: Yeah, not a fun one to write, either. :(

WOE. I got like, two sentences into this chapter last night when a drunk-ass stupid friend called me to give her a ride 'cause she didn't have the sense to save cab fare. Uh lame. Aaaannnyyywayyy....

Okay. So reading this was kinda traumatic, heh. Not really in a bad way, I just mean you portrayed everything so vividly, it really drew me in. Definitely feeling Logan's pain :(.

And then that cliffhanger at the end! Gah--wha--she's got amnesia or somethin'?! Oh gosh, okay, I gotta go read the *next* chapter now. Thanks a lot, you evil author, ruining what was supposed to be a productive half-hour :P

"Don't push it. Don't scare her. Don't say she looks fucking incredible because she's alive and she's here and you want her more in this second than you've ever wanted anyone in your life."

Awww! Gah, so many great moments in this chapter. Loved the conversation with Jubilee. I don't usually like fan fic Jubes, but you did her justice :).

The very thought of Hank, Logan, and Rogue high on nitrous oxide had me giggling.

Gosh dangit woman! You finally had me smiling through a chapter, and you go and end it with another damned cliffhanger. Hmpf. Oh well. It's worth it. I'm still lovin' this story :P.

Author's Response: I know, I really am kind of ending with cliffhangers. It\'s an evil habit. :p

"Jean, this is…"
"Really damn awkward, Scott."
"Well…yeah."

Loved the interaction there. I have a soft spot for your Jean. She's such a sweetheart. I hope Scott sees the light and chooses her. You've got me shipping those two as much as Rogan :P.

Cookie monster. LOL. I definitely snorted at that. It was rather unladylike. Hee.

Ah. No. Bad dreams. Bad bad bad. Dangit, Marie, you stubborn ass. Let Logan be there for you.

Oh. Hm. Firecracker and Blue, huh? I can't decide whether to be weirded out or intrigued. Intrigued is winning so far. This story's just getting better and better. Sad to think it's winding down. I dunno how you're gonna resolve all this in two more chapters 0_0;;.

Author's Response: Yeah, I never was one to put Jean on a cross and completely villify her - although I don\'t mind the Jean is a bitch storylines too much. :p I read one fanfic with Jubilee and Hank as an item and it was so fabulous so I thought I\'d hint at one here. I did wind it down although I debated just keeping it going but I didn\'t want to get bored and have the readers say, \'oh just end it already!\'. ;)

Aw. Pout. Bitter, dark, cynical Logan is no fun. But you write him well. Him thinking it would be easier if she just died...*shudder*. Hope that was the booze talkin'.

"Hey, when I need to be a pain in the ass, I pull out all the stops." Ha! Damn straight. That's like, Jubilee's other mutant power or something :P. Great line.

Oh God. No. *scrubs eyes* I don't wanna think about his fuzzy blue posterior. I'm sorry Hank. You're frickin' awesome. But I don't wanna think about ya nekkid, big guy.

Awwwwww. Yay. That was a perfect way to resolve everything. You really brought out their bond to each other, and I loved the playful banter at the end. "Yeah, yeah. You and what army." Ha! Right. Hummm. I'm almost sad to see it end. Oh well, there's still the epilogue at least.

Author's Response: Thank you. :) I didn\'t want people to feel cheated at the end but I did want to wrap it up so it didn\'t go on forever. So glad you liked it. :)

"No sweat, baby. You've earned it." Bwaaahahaha. I'll just bet she has ;).

No. Belize. That place evokes a visceral response. The last time I was there was sifting through Mayan ruins, getting pestered by monkeys, and ate up by bugs the size o' your fuckin' hand. But I'll try not to let my own bad memories of it screw up my enjoyment of the story LOL. *scrolls back up to finish reading*

Aw. I love 'spectacular ever after'. Hee. Perfect sweet fluffy ending. Thanks for writing. I really look forward to whatever you write next!

Author's Response: Ha! Well, I was going to go with Hawaii but I wanted something more exotic. So just pretend I wrote that instead! I appreciate your wonderful reviews and following this along to the end. :) Now, get back to writing some more of feral so I can indulge there!

Now COMPLETE! Logan goes undercover to investigate Sebastian Shaw after Jean disappears. He finds Rogue there, but what is her connection to Shaw, and can the two of them form an unlikely alliance? Of course they can, it's me! Pure Rogan, don't worry, Jean is just a plot device. ;-)

My usual, which means AU, with drama, action, angst, hot Rogan sex, and a happy ending. And I promise never to leave a story unfinished.

Awwwww *melts*. From the opening scene at the poker table to the last line, really, really good. Poor Rogue. That would be confusing and disorienting as hell. Love how he helped calm her down--also love that he has no hesitancy thinking of another man's wife as "mine". Heh. He knows what's what.

Can't wait to see how the rest of the plot unfolds, and what Logan uncovers when he runs her prints. Gotta wonder how the heck she got mixed up with a guy like Shaw in the first place. Update. Soon. Please =D.

Author's Response: Aw, I\'m so glad you found it melt-worthy. Yeah, Shaw\'s \"gaslighting\" of Rogue is pretty diabolical. I actually had a moment in there where Logan wonders where the \"mine\" came from, but it seemed to break the sexual tension, and honestly I don\'t think he has to question it. He knows what\'s his. ;-) Thanks so much for reviewing!

Okay. I officially love this Logan. His thoughts, his dialogue, picking up the young professional at the bar, waking up disoriented--just perfect, perfect characterization.

Whew. That last scene was intense. I can't wait to see how this plays out, and what the heck Jean has to do with it all! Eagerly awaiting the next chapter :).

Grr. I'm so pegging Emma for the sudden onslaught of voices when Rogue tries to leave (I know, brilliant deductive reasoning, right?).

Aw. Her uncertainty about her own sanity, and her fear that she's just being paranoid when there really is some crazy conspiracy going on . . . so sad. But hopeful, too, now that Logan's there to help her get to the bottom of all this.

Great update. I can't wait to learn what Frost and Shaw are planning, and how Rogue's power fits into all of it.

Author's Response: She might have something to do with it. ;-) Yeah, I think it was hard to capture how scary it must be to have no compass as to whether you are sane or not, and only the word of someone you distrust to try to guide you. I am glad as well that she and Logan found each other. :-)

Yayeeeee. I still haven't read most of your already-completed stories, but this was an interesting start and I definitely look forward to following along as you write it. And I'll get around to those other stories too, someday, lol. Nice to see the First Class mutants brought in. I look forward to seeing what you do with them.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I have no problems with you not reading my prior stuff if that\'s what keeps you updating \"Feral.\" It is an awesome fic, and I do a little happy dance every time there\'s a new chapter. I\'m glad you like the mash-up of First Class mutants with the X-Men from the other movies. There\'s some issues with age there, but what the heck. If Mystique turns out to be smokin\' hot at 60, everyone has an excuse for not aging, right? Besides, AU covers all manner of sins.

I like the way you write; you really pull your readers into the characters' heads and take us along on the experience with them. You've got me on pins and needles; can't wait to see what happens next.

The interaction between Rogue and Shaw was just haunting. Perfectly tense and creepy. Such a realistic dynamic there, and I love how this mystery is just unfolding like a flower--no exposition, no fantastical leaps, just layers being slowly peeled away. Can't wait to see what it eventually reveals.

The idea of Logan's lockpicking prowess was totally cool, and definitely believable. One of those 'Huh, wish I'd thoughta that' ideas :P.

That moment in Shaw's office, when he bursts in on Rogue also snooping around--Ha! I could just picture it, made me laugh out loud.

Thanks for the speedy update. Don't try to rush genius or anything, but I do look forward eagerly to the next update. Especially curious about Azazel's role in all of this *eyebrow raise*

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked the interaction between Rogue and Shaw. I was worried that it was getting a little soap-opera-esque...he\'s just so *evil*. I\'m glad you found it falling on the more realistic emotionally-abusive-dirtbag side, which is what I was going for. I\'m especially glad to hear you like the pace of things...I was so tempted to just spill the whole plot in the first chapter it\'s good to know I\'m letting details out in a way that seems natural. And yes, there will definitely be more Azazel coming up!

I think it's normal to feel rushed, particularly in the beginning when you're introducing & developing the characters, but in my opinion the pacing on this is excellent. There has not been a single scene so far that has seemed to drag or tax my patience as a reader (and that's something of a rareity for me).

Have to agree with Sera that the connection is so there already, and there's something incredibly intriguing about the tension, the way they're dancing around each other. And as for the last scene, really well done as well. Felt very in-character. Ugh, Emma, that bitch. I just have this visceral hatred towards her character, the likes of which I haven't felt since Cruella DeVille ;). She and Shaw are a perfect match--can't wait to see them get taken the fuck down, preferably Wolverine-style ;).

Great update! Mas, rapidamente, por favor :D :D :D

Author's Response: Thanks so much...that\'s very reassuring. Usually I start with an idea of certain \"character moments\", and this is the first story where the plot idea was kind of formed in advance. So I feel a lot of pressure to get the plot out there, but you\'re right, it\'s not going to matter if the characters haven\'t connected. Yeah, Emma is a stone-cold bitch in this, and my dislike of January Jones in First Class gives me great joy in making her a truly awful individual. More soon, I promise!

"...choking back the Wolverine’s sudden desire to tear Azazel’s throat out with his teeth."

Glad he managed to choke back that desire. That would be . . . yucky.

The tension, the tension! I'm really liking the character dynamics here. Is it an insult to say that you write scummy lowlifes really well? 'Cause I mean it as a compliment. Seriously. They're so . . . hateable.

What does Jean have to do with all this?! *bites nails* Oh well. Guess I'll wait 'til the next chapter to find out. Thanks for getting this out in spite of the crazy weather. You actually made me smile, reading this during the genetics lab from hell . . . my labmates must think I'm nuts =D

Author's Response: Yeah, that would have been pretty gross. ;-) I\'m glad you like my scummy lowlifes. That\'s definitely a compliment. I think your questions about Jean were at least partially answered in the next chapter. So glad to have made you smile in a bad lab. Thanks again for being such a great reviewer!
