Okay. I don't know if you still read reviews or are active on this site, but I'm leaving one anyways. This story was absolutely stunning. Very concise; you don't let your writing get in the way of the story, which I like a lot. The characters are so well-developed and the way the story unfolded . . . it just really drew me in, from the first word to the last. Thanks for writing.
Author's Response: I do indeed still read reviews, though I certainly haven\'t been very active of late. Thank you so much for the kind words; you make me want to finally finish something again...
Whoa. That was intense! I'm really enjoying your fiction; glad I stumbled upon it. Seriously great writing; you manage to convey so much so concisely.
Awesome. Seriously, fantastic. So good I had to read it twice.
Fantastic. I loved this; wouldn't change a word of it. The characterizations are perfect and it was really, really hot. Thank you for writing.
Whoa! The last two lines of this completely blew my mind. Damn! Really sad subject matter, but great writing.
Whew. I've gotta admit, this was dark/non-con enough to squick me at a few points, but damn, overall, a very hot and very psychologically compelling story. Great job.
Wow. Wow. First off, thanks for the dedication in your chapter. I don't see how my story could even hold a candle to this, but glad you found it inspiring in some way =D.
Okay, so I had to go back and read Kristine's 'Anything' and it was close enough to non-con to be pretty squicky for me. That made me reluctant to continue on with your story at first...
But damn, am I glad I did. There were still a couple of parts that were tough to read. But you really managed to 'humanize' this dark Logan. His motivations, while sometimes disturbing, are understandable and very real, y'know?
And aside from the INSANELY melt-your-computer-screen-hot sex scenes, (literally, hottest fic I've ever read, hands-down), this story is really psychologically compelling, too. The balance of power between these two is so intriguing; I mean, sure, Logan is dominant, no doubt about that, but I don't think he even realizes just how much he's getting himself wrapped around Marie's finger. It's already clear he'd do just about anything to keep her safe and cared for.
Marie's backstory was great. I still feel that Logan has somewhat taken advantage of this young vulnerable girl's situation and blah blah (and you've brilliantly shown moments where he feels those twinges of guilt too, which I appreciate). But at the same time, she's getting things she wants/needs out of their relationship, and she's weighed her options and made the very clear-headed choice to stay.
Sorry if this review didn't completely make sense. I'm still a little shell-shocked from reading most of this in one sitting. But uh, to sum up: Wow. Hot. More. Soon. Please. I can't even imagine what's going to happen when/if Logan takes her back to Westchester, but I'm sure it will be an Uh-mazing read.
This was just chilling and perfect. I love the outsider's perspective given by the POV. Really, really good. I look forward to digging into more of your stories . . . If I ever get the time /sigh :)
Laughed until I cried. Seriously. Awesome.
Author's Response: glad you liked it love, and thanks for the review
LOL so cute! I'm glad I stumbled on this story. The whole interaction between them was great, especially the twist ending.
I'm kinda new to this fandom, but this has definitely been my fav W/R story thus far. Really, really good. You kept me riveted, with the plot and the action and their relationship unfolding and just--guh :). Great take on these two characters. Thanks for writing!
Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I\'m so glad you liked the story. I got sucked into this fandom fairly recently too, but it is crazy-addictive and there are some amazing writers on this site. Thanks again for your review, it means a lot!
Wow. That was.... pretty horrific, even a little stomach-churning at times, but a very compelling read. The oddly broken chapters confused me, but the story itself is really, really well-written. I look forward to seeing where you go with this.
Author's Response: Thank you for pointing that out. I\'ve gone back and fixed a lot of the formatting that was lost when I pasted over the chapter... I hope that\'s what you were referring to :( But, I\'m glad to hear that I\'ve got you interested. :)
Yeah, that formatting makes for a much easier read. Also since I was reading it on my phone, the paragraphs really ran together. Still, great story. The situation's so realistic, and the character development is perfect.
Awww Wolverine & Logan in her head are cute. I like Norbert, but it's good to see Rogue back in control of herself. Didn't seem convoluted or difficult to follow to me. Xavier's insights about blue fuzzy's origins were interesting . . . And kinda heartbreaking. Poor girl. I bet she's gonna take a liking to Beast. Would be a dream come true to find a big real life version of your imaginary friend who also has a tendency to quote the Bard :P
Author's Response: You want to know what\'s funny? I honestly didn\'t think about that until you just pointed it out... hmmm. Something to think about. I\'m feeling better with Rogue back in control too. Thanks for the review.
This story is so good. I sat down to start the first chapter, and ended up going straight through to the end of chapter 9, heh. I'm loving this slightly crazy Rogue, the wonder twins, Wolverine, Norbert. Really great character dynamics all around.
Jubilee's "Can we keep her?" Priceless. So many laugh-out-loud lines from her and Kitty.
Looking forward to the next chapter, for sure. I'm excited to see how Rogue's character develops, and I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but Xavier turning to Logan for the decision about Rogue intrigued me. Does Xavier know something Logan doesn't know???
Ah, naked Logan. Perfect way to end any chapter, really ;). I'm curious to see how things will develop now that everyone's all . . . neighborly. Feels like things are starting to come together for Rogue--she didn't even have to speak through The Bard this chapter *gasp*. And, this really goes without saying, but Logan carrying her? Awwwwww. Can't wait to read more.
Oh wow. I'm only on chapter 3, but had to stop and review. I'm really loving this story so far. Well, that might be the wrong word. This isn't the kind of story you love. It's the kind you sort of grit your teeth through, then sit back in awe. The character development is so great, and the dialogue and the flashbacks. Um, yes, more please. Perfectly dark and edgy.
Author's Response: So glad you are enjoying it - that\'s only fair, really, since I\'m enjoying yours so much!
Ah! I love the twist ending. Really good mix of sweet and sexy and angsty. And the very idea of lumberjack Logan--hmmmm. :)
Oh my goodness. *Fans self*. Hell of a story you got going here. Really steamy, and I love your take on the characters, as well as the concise writing style with the short paragraphs--really makes every word count.
Yay! Role reversal story. There are two plot bunnies that for some reason never fail to capture my interest: role reversal and going undercover. *Shrug* call it a fic fetish or something. Anywho, interesting start. I just finished the first chapter and am going on to ch2. I like your take on feral!Rogue, and damn, you're right untouchable Logan is strangely hot. Love the chapter titles by the way--made me laugh :)
Yes, Logan, take her back to your lair ;). The image of him sinking knee-deep in the snow from her weight is amusing. I like how you've handled this more empathetic side of Logan--makes sense given his mutation. I'm curious to see where this'll lead.
Cool to see the infamous nightmare-clawing scene reversed, heh. Man, now I'm wondering exactly what happened 'that day' when Logan discovered his mutation. Hrmm hope we find out.
Sigh. Poor Logan. That self-control's gotta be snapped to the breaking point. Five years is a loooooong time. I love Rogue's simple certainty, like "Hm, he smells like mine. I wanna mate with him. And that's that." Can't wait for the next installment :)
Author's Response: Wow! Thanks for taking the time to review *each* and every chapter!! Rest assured, there\'s nothing wrong with fic fetish; I think I have one or two of my own (don\'t ask me which, though...).\r\nI have a pretty good idea about where I want this fic to go, but thanks for the hints dropped (inadvertently?) here and there throughout your different reviews. It might add to the plot (yay!).\r\n\r\nEnjoy the on coming chapters!\r\nFree
LOL. Oh my goodness. "Chuckles" alone had me laughing out loud. I love the humor and that underlying self-deprecation in Logan's voice. off to read ch2 :)
"In the end, there would only be one man standing (and obviously it would be Logan)." Bwahaha! You're wicked. I love it.
Author's Response: I really liked that line too :D
