The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
Aw, this chapter was so poignant. Logan, Logan, Logan. How can you be so sweet and so damn dense at the same time? Of course Rogue would be horrified to know you snooped in her file, even if it resulted in meaningful sparkly jewelry. And, her getting Logan through touch, and the lure of the powers. Just a great chapter all around.
Author's Response: Thanks a bunch! Poor Logan...trying to be helpful and making a mess of things....: )
Aw...I love how they can talk things through. And how Logan acknowledges that he barely knew Jean, it's amazing how little time they actually have together. This is a nice slow build to the Rogan relationship.
Author's Response: Yeah, when I sat down and thought about it...I noticed that the two barely spent time together so it couldn\'t have been a deep kind of love...made me feel MUCH better... : )
You do such a good job describing Remy's power here, I can almost feel it. And I like Logan's reaction...not over-the-top (except for his threats, of course) but you can sense how discomfited he is by her taking in some of Remy.
Author's Response: Marie with glowing red Gambit eyes.......not acceptable....not at all...tee hee
Yum. Love possessive Logan. But still, this was my favorite part of this chapter.
“Maybe he'll learn,” he muttered as he walked back into the bedroom.
“To what? Fly?”
Author's Response: Love me a sarcastic Rogue! : )
Whoops! Getting so into the story I clicked through to the next chapter and almost forgot to review! I really like this insight into Logan's thoughts. This moment was just spectacular:
He turned his head and slowly swooped down, wanting to taste her mouth, wanting to drink her in. She wanted him!
“Don't,” she whispered.
Or not. He stopped his movement but didn't pull away. He brought his eyes up from her lips to her suddenly terrified eyes.
“My skin...” she added. And he could breathe again.
“Was never a problem...” he finished.
Love seeing Logan's momentary doubt, and his reassurance.
Holy fucking WOW, I'm so glad you're back! You are one of my all-time favorite authors, and this story is looking to be more of the same. You did an amazing job of setting an evocative, creepy scene. I was constantly guessing as to what you were going for...if there was going to be a more sci-fi angle (time travel? Groundhog Day? Memento?) or what. And now I am dying to know the backstory between them. Poor Marie, living out her memories in 59-minute interactions. Please, please, please write more!
VERY intriguing! I love the Logan/Marie interplay. Yes, he was impulsive but appropriately repentant afterwards. :-) I like how they're able to talk about stuff now, you can really see how their relationship built after the events of their last story.
Author's Response: Thanks! Their relationship is going to have to build and develop if they\'re gonna make it together! : ) Thanks for the review!
Aw...very cute.
Author's Response: :) Thank you!
It's such a pain, but for now you have to paste the story text into the chapter notes or end notes. You still have to put something in the story text field, but it doesn't show up. :-( Feel free to also post it to the wrbeta list!
Author's Response: Oh for the love of Pete. Thanks for the heads up. I thought it showed when I check it but that must have been right after I posted. Argh.
Marie returns to the mansion at the end of X3 after getting the cure. A conversation with Bobby leaves Marie feeling a little lost, so she turns to a friend she can always count on.
Another very sweet story! You do a great job with these little moments between them.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the lovely review! Sometimes I find those little moments are some of the greatest ones to explore. I\'m glad you liked it.
After Bobby dumps Marie for Kitty, Logan has some ideas of his own, on how his best friend can get herself some payback! After which, Marie is left questioning, what is her relationship with Logan really? Friends? Or more than that?
Aw...very sweet!
Author's Response:
Thanks! I\'m glad you enjoyed it :)
LOVED it. Well-written, creepy as hell, but still very tender and emotionally wrenching. But now, of course, I'm greedy, I want to know what happened right before and right after! Any chance of it being more than a one-shot? Pretty please?
Author's Response: Thank you so much! That\'s high praise coming from one of my favorite Rogan authors :D. My muse has always been a fickle, flighty thing, so we\'ll have to see if it cooperates with me to write more. I\'m definitely not opposed to it, though!
::sniff sniff:: Dysfunctional Rogue and Wolverine are always so sad. This story was really great. Wolverine is a bastard, but an irresistible one. I love the last line. Just perfect. This reminds me a lot of the story "Kitchen Chair" by M. Jules which is so poignant as well that I love and hate to read it.
Author's Response: Yes, I have to admit Kitchen Chair was in the back of my mind when I wrote it ... It\'s always been one of my favourites. I couldn\'t help sneaking in that little allusion to it ... \"his spot\" as M Jules says. And I\'ve always wanted thought that Wolverine too young would ruin you for life, and this is just the story where I finally got round to putting it on paper.\r\n
Wow. Your writing is always so raw and vivid and visceral, and then you sneak in that little soft touch that makes my Rogan heart go all squishy. I really liked the Twelfth Tattoo, but this was so great to get Logan's perspective and see that he's not quite the cold, using bastard he seemed in that story. These two hurt each other because they may hide who they are with other people, but not with each other. And who they are is kind of rough, but it's them.
Author's Response: This song really spoke to me on that level (raw, visceral etc) and you know I just love jonesing on Logan\'s self-hate and trying to get him past that. And I did feel this had to be more hopeful than The Twelfth Tattoo, because Rogue is the one really at fault here; she\'s the one messing around on Remy, and until she gets her head straight, one way or another, no one\'s going to be happy. But Logan\'s scared that she doesn\'t associate him with anything soft etc, and for him to see that she can, she does - that\'s a ray of hope :D
I loved this! Very poignant and sweet. Great job. Now make it the first chapter of a veeeery long story, lol.
Ha, at first I thought it was written from Marie's POV and I was *hating* it...such a die-hard Rogan fan I am! Loved it in the end, of course. There's nothing like a Mean!Jean and a super-sweet Rogan who think she's just crazypants.
Author's Response: funny thing is, I\'ve always loved the song and thought it was very Rogan, but when I sat down to write it, I thought ... it\'s stalkery! And to me, Jean is the ultimate stalker, what with the mental abilities. And I did want that slow reveal to mask the fact it was Jean (and not Rogue, the obvious assumption) at first, so I\'m glad it worked!
Aw, this was great! I had never thought of the pairing of Loki and Jubes, but it is perfect...perfect and terrifying!
Author's Response: Hey hun, glad you liked it. As for Loki and Jubes, yeah I think they\'re perfect for each other but also scary. Had a lot of fun working out what their courtship looked like though. It gave poor Logan his first grey hairs, just to witness it, lol.
