Oh, that Wolverine can be SOOOOO naughty... --Wendie
Don't know how this missed being reviewed the first time around, but luckily 'Story of the Moment' has given me another chance to right that wrong. This is very clever. Totally OOC, as I think Wolvie's mutation sort of cancels out the effects of love potions and such, but if he were to be affected, he would be completely over-the-top about it. Great job. --Wendie
OH. MY. Marie's letter made me cry.
I love the name you gave Logan. Very fitting indeed. Valentines Day, huh? Why, of course. --Wendie
This is quite simply gorgeous--beautifully written and so true. --Wendie
Lovely. Truly lovely and beautifully true. --Wendie
As a rule, I prefer prose to poetry, but this is exceptionally well done. Very perceptive and well thought out. And it doesn't rhyme...excellent. Your history teacher may not be happy, but your English teacher should be. --Wendie
I love this! I love this! I love this!
I felt like Logan, searching his memories over years and years, when I dug this song out of my memory bank a few months ago. I had heard it years ago, when it was first released and fell IN LOVE with it! But I never knew who sang it and I wasn't completely sure of the title, (Gosh, don't you hate radio dj's who don't announce the name of the damn song?!?) but I knew I remembered the line, 'If this is Austin, I still love you.' So, I started looking around on itunes and voila! There it was! Bang. Zoom. Downloaded instantly. And now I stumble upon a Rogan songfic based on one of my favorite songs of all time. This day just keeps getting better and better. I also read a story yesterday based on Bruce Springsteen's 'Thunder Road', which was fantastic. I think it was written by 'Kim' (not sure though and 'Thunder Road' was not in the title of the story.)
Oh, geez, I'm running off at the mouth.
Thank you from the bottom of my shipper heart for posting this.
Peace,
Wendie
Author's Response: Awwwwww *blushes furiously* thank you so much for the gushing review Wendie! This was one of those darn plot bunnies with Dracula teeth that just latch on and don\'t let go until you hit \"Submit\", and even then, your tush is so sore from the bite you can\'t sit down for 3 days!! I enjoyed writing this one and are tickled to my toenails that you enjoyed it too!

Excellent twist. Love this. And my imagination is going totally wild trying to conjure your inspiration. Something tells me it all started with the line 'Took you long enough.' Perhaps there was also a shower involved? Oh, geez, did I write that out loud? Oops. --Wendie
Like all stories involving more than one pair of puppy-dog eyes, this was adorable. Logan is such a sucker for a turned-on Marie... --Wendie
I can't decide whether I'm happy or mad about having at least one brain cell dedicated forevermore to the mental picture of Logan shoving Marie's flaming head into a toilet and then her stomping away with as much dignity as her dripping wet self could muster while he stared at her ass. Next time I need a little mood lifter, I'll haul that brain cell front and center and laugh my ass off. OK, I guess I'm not mad. --Wendie
As a long-time Jean basher, I really enjoyed this view from her side of the fence. Given the circumstances, I can't blame her for being royally pissed either. Or for thinking Charles should just mind his own business and stop obsessively profiling everyone.
One of my top ten favorite Logan descriptions: 'Sex poured into too-tight jeans.' Ain't it the truth! --Wendie
Oh, yeah, leave it to Logan to make even the mundane chore of grocery shopping a highly erotic experience. --Wendie
Aw, Jean's pissy, poor her. Not. I love that all the hotness is mostly implied, rather than shown, in this one. --Wendie
A few bananas I'm willing to sacrifice, but all that Ben & Jerry's? Logan, shame on you! --Wendie
You know what they say, Jubes, ya snooze, ya lose! This was delicious. --Wendie
Bobby is a lot more perceptive than I gave him credit for. But Logan ain't no fool, either.
Great line: 'No woman ever lets go of her first love, until he breaks her heart.' I never thought about it that way, but you're probably right. And even then, she never forgets, which is a kind of hanging on.
The 'low maintenance' speech is interesting, and distressing at the same time. I would hate to think that there was more truth than poetry in those words. Isn't Logan a better man than that? --Wendie
'Bet your arms feel like home.' If that's a typo --should it have been 'But'? -- don't fix it. This is so much better, like she's still anticipating their first embrace. Maybe Freud had something with the 'slip' of his? --Wendie
You gotta love man who speaks his mind. "We're more than fine, if your original intention was getting laid tonight." Which could only be topped by..."Oh, it's gonna melt, baby, 'cause this night's gonna be hotter than hell." Finally! --Wendie
Freedom!...and love at the journey's end. Yeehaw! --Wendie
Some conversations that we think we should are avoid are the very ones that we need to have. Excellent. --Wendie
I love this. It's both straightforward and funny. And Marie nailed it -- that's exactly why we all love Logan so much...
But the most dangerous line in the whole story is Logan's revelation that Scott wouldn't 'freak' if he found Rogue in his room. I wonder if the fact that Scott trusts him will make it easier to cross a certain line with Rogue...or harder. --Wendie
Talk about breaking the fourth wall! Very, very clever. --Wendie
I always get all goosebumpy when Marie goes to great lengths to defend her man to the geeks who just don't get him at all.
'the girl with the ancient soul'...what a wonderful description of Marie. And one of the best arguments for her being perfect for Logan that I could ever imagine. I love how you tapped into all the parts of him that make him the most lovable deadly thing on the planet. --Wendie
For a first effort, this is exceptionally well-written. So full of emotion. I love that he acknowledges the hold she has over him and chooses to live with it in spite of all its limitations. Or does he really have a choice at all? See, it's your ability to generate questions like that that make this such a good story. I know it's been five years, but I'd love to see you come back and write some more. --Wendie
