Author's Chapter Notes:
You should read my other Creature Fics or else this will make absolutely no sense whatsoever. This is also a slight crossover with the computer game Myst. It all comes together eventually.
An angry roar rose over the din of the raging river.

Cougar was awake to find Marie missing.

Oh goody. Pissed off mutants. Stupid girl.

Cougar immediately jumped into the river after Rogue. He was intent upon capturing soon. She was still his. Nothing could change that.

Right.

And Mind-Wolverine just wants to ask Cougar to fuck his little Marie to his pleasure.

Impossible.

Marie was shivering from the cold.

Mind-Wolverine was still asking for control. She kept refusing until she heard the angry roar that pierced the night air.

She gave in to Wolverine in a moment of panic.

That's when everything went to hell.

Logan was waiting for the verdict.

Kids that walked by him shot him glares that could have killed him. Damn this healing factor. And the fact that the bouncy little Jubilee was lying on a cold metal table in the infirmary.

He was tired, he was hurt, and all he wanted to do was find Marie and hold onto her so tight and so long, he wouldn't be able to tell where she started and he did. But at that point, he didn't even care.

All he wanted was to be was safe.

And then a pain so fierce it almost knocked him to the floor gripped Logan. And everything turned black.

Jubilee was slowly starting to slip away. There was nothing that Jean could do now. It was all up to the Maker.

Storm was up in her room, surrounded by her plants and praying to her Maker. The sky outside was black and stormy, reminiscent of her mood.

Jean was searching through the computer, looking for anything that could save Jubes. There was nothing to find, so the search was pointless. Scott was looking over shoulder, also knowing that the search was pointless. He still refused to let the fearless leader façade drop and admit that he would lose one of his students. Never. He was the leader; everything was going to be fine. It had to be.

The Watcher looked in the Book. Everything was going to plan. He was supposed to offer Logan his deal, then Marie. It was a vicious cycle of time that could never be broken.

It was all so simple, yet so hard.

The truth was, or so he had been told, that Logan and Marie could never be together. They had to be separated, and fast. Or else they find out about everything; Logan's past, the experiment that was done on Marie, her past, D'ni, everything.

And everything was too good to lose.

So he Linked.

There was no going back now.

The sudden barrage of memories that rained down upon her overwhelmed Marie. It seemed that Mind-Wolverine had unleashed something in her mind that let her remember.

There was pain, and lights. Marie knew true pain, as the people put some sort of implant into her arm. What was it? Marie looked harder. Diamond.

They put diamond implants in her!!!!

She was about to unleash her claws make of the costly substance, but there was a flash, and a person.

An angry man. With a book. The book had a panel on it, a panel that glowed. He placed his hand upon it and disappeared. She moved to do the same.

It was too much and she backed out of her memories. A dead animal was thrown before her on the shore, next to where she had washed up. No, not an animal, Cougar!!!

There was the same man from her memories!!! He was coming close to her, grabbing her.

"I'm sorry. It was never meant to be this way. You were never supposed to remember."

It was a whisper, but it range in her ears. Remember?! She was never supposed to remember? She was never supposed to know? Why not?!

She never got a chance to ask her question, because he was moving her toward the river. He was a hell of a lot stronger than her, that much she knew.

But that was all she had time to figure out, because he was holding her underwater. She couldn't breathe.

'Please let me out, I need to breathe! I'll forget everything, I promise! Just don't make me drowned. I need to tell Logan I love him, I need to say goodbye!! I never wanted this to happen. Logan, I love you, I really do...'

And that was everything.

Rogue, Marie, was dead.

Jubilee was dead.

The damage to her lungs had been too great. They had not been able to save her in time.

Jean was blaming herself. She was the doctor. She should have been able to save her. This was all her fault.

Scott was blaming himself. This was all his fault. If only he had been there to protect her from Logan. Speaking of which, where was the fucking bastard?

Logan was still in the hallway. There was an assault of memories upon him as well.

There was a forest, with Marie. She was another one of the test subjects. She sort of reminded him of an old girlfriend. She was so young. Or she at least looked it.

She had blades like his. Only his were shiny metal and hers was glittering diamond. And hers came out of her wrists and ankles. His only came out from between the knuckles.

There was a man with dark hair. He was holding a Book open. With a glowing panel. He put a needle into Marie and Logan growled. Marie's eyes got blank for a moment, then they got confused, then they got calm. She placed her small hand on the panel and disappeared. Logan howled.

The same needle was injected into him and he forgot everything. Then he was confused for a moment. Where was he? Then he remembered the Book, D'ni, and placed his hand on the Book's Panel. He disappeared as well.

The pain was too large so Logan pulled out of his memories.

Standing before him was the same man that was in his memories. He was holding a slim Linking Book in one hand. There was a dagger in his other hand.

Logan growled and started to get up. The man simply threw the dagger at him. It hit his heart, and there was a poison, flowing through his system, too strong and fast for his healing factor to stop it.

The man came up and said in a whisper, "I'm sorry. You were never meant to remember. Just as the now dead Marie was never meant to remember. You must not have control. You have to die now." With that, the strange man covered Logan's nose and mouth.

I can't die now! Jubilation was enough, but Marie too? I don't think that she ever knew that I loved her. I loved her so much. I'll see her soon. But everyone else, how will they cope? I don't really care right now, but I love you Marie...

Then the Wolverine, Logan, slipped into the next life.

The Watcher, Atruis, carefully laid the Book down. He would have to communicate with his past self eventually.

Atruis stared down at the fire red cover of the Book that Linked to the Age of Heavens and Hells. They had loved each other so much; maybe he should have let them live...

No. Then all would have been lost. So Atruis sighed and placed the book with the others. So many different universes, so many different Rogues and Logans. And they all loved each other as much as they could.

He shook his head sadly. Then he went to the Age of Donna's Adaptations. Now here was an interesting case. But, he still knew that Marie would die at some point and Logan would live forever.

Such a vicious cycle, a never-ending circle of Pain and Pleasure. Never ending...
