"So long sweet summer,
I stumbled upon you and gratefully basked in your rays.
So long sweet summer,
I fell into you now you're gracefully falling away."
----------------------------------------------------------
Rolling around in the grass
Like a five year old
Stopping only long enough to see the sun pass through the sky
As if the task only takes a second
Loosing track of time
Throwing caution to the wind
And not having it fly back at your face
I was happier than I'd ever been
Since Mississippi and lemonade and tire swings
All the cliches you see in movies
You looked happy too
Well... relaxed
For the first time since I'd met you
No tenseness in your muscles
No lines marking your features
You were... at home
And I was... in love
But, I could only keep that secret for the two glorious months when time stood still
It had to...
It couldn't keep up with us
On the last day you came looking for me
'I know you're here' you said
'I tracked your scent'
I gave up hiding;
Coming down from the tree I'd climbed
I slipped up,
Lost my footing
And you caught me
Chuckling and wiping the sweat soaked hair from my face
I smiled up at you and caught myself looking into your eyes
I didn't like what I saw
Love
But not the kind I wanted
