"What? A dame like me?" Marie slapped him, hard. "I think I should be going, Mr. Logan."

"I know you, dollface. You've got me in your blood. Princess like you can't keep away from gutter trash like me. Every bruise from me is a little dig at daddy."

She wavered, biting her scarlet lips. "Daddy... If I had his money, I'd-- he doesn't do a thing with it! If only we--"

"Shut up, baby. Are you going to get me a whiskey, or not?"
