the Muse is back again, and she needs your help. We're both new to the X-men fan fic world, so we'd like your input on how we're doing character-wise. Part of the reason I write poetry is to figure out the characters so hopefully I'll know what I'm doing if I decide to write prose fiction. Tell me what I can improve, please. Be merciless. baby, don't you cry,
when they say we don't belong.
they don't understand wings
but don't you be afraid to fly.
i'll be there,
to hold you when the wind blows cold.
when the lights go out
you and me, we'll run by the stars.
and when they say we'll never make it,
just hold your head high and smile.
when they say we'll both die trying,
don't you listen to their fear.
i'll be there,
to warm you when the life burns low.
when the flowers droop,
sweet child, we'll dream us a rose.
and when they shoot their bows and arrows,
believe they won't pierce your heart.
when they try to tie you down,
don't you tremble, don't you shake.
i'll be there,
to tear the ropes and break the chains.
when they reach for you,
dear angel, they'll have to face me.
and when they whisper doubt inside you,
push the poison from your mind.
when they seek to drag you down,

to remind you that we share a sun.
