It starts with two weeks and an open road.

But then there are the bathroom breaks. Followed by the snack breaks, the Kodak-moment breaks, the no-good-reason-to-break breaks. He's surprised if they clock even 50 miles a day.

And she won't shut up about anything, oohing this and lookit that all the damn time. Or else asking a lot of nosy questions, or nagging about his seatbelt. It only stops when she's asleep, curled up against the window.

When they finally get back, his head's pounding like a jackhammer.

And the worst part is, he can't wait to do it again.
