The Wolverine & Rogue Fanfiction Archive
Barely Legal Since 2000
There was SO much here not said, but easy for the reader to know. I love the idea of the two wishes, it really shows that they're coming together, maybe slowly but definitely surely.
I hope there's a follow up in here somewhere/sometime.
I have a feeling those two wishes probably sounded identical, with the possible exception of different pronouns. 'I wish he...'/ 'I wish she...'
This was very well done and self-preservation is a perfectly reasonable explanation for the Phoenix killing Scott. Great job. --Wendie
Lovely!

You know - they didn't end up saying a whole lot in this talk, but this talk was about the things they didn't say. What Rogue wishes for on a falling star. What Logan wanted to stay but didn't to keep her outside. What Rogue really feels about her skin, the cure, and Bobby. And how much Logan is missing Jean, how everyone feels about his killing her.
I thought this was the thesis of the fic:
She gave a small laugh that also brought on tears, “That’s the real reason I came out here. I was hoping that this one time I could make a wish and it would come true. But they seem to never do.”
And I thought your idea that Scott was the good guy and that's why Jean killed him interesting. Because I usually don't think of Logan as someone who second-guesses what he has to do, or as someone who would believe that 'good guys' would use mental blocks. So that's something I hadn't considered. *ponders* Good idea! :)
I wonder if there's a talk after this that addresses everything they're not saying, or whether it's too much for too long to verbalize all they really mean.
Author's Response: Has anyone ever told you that your reviews are execellnt? I love reading reviews that you give on stories and now I have one of my own! YAY!
Anyways back on subject, yeah this was based on the underlying tones of what wasn't said. I really wanted to establish a bond between Logan and Rogue without revealing to much of it.
And I think there maybe a talk in the future (distant). Maybe when they both realize that they *can* really confide in each other. Rogue won't think she's stepping on Logan's toes and he think that he has to keep everything in.
Thank you for the review.
Very nicely done. Seemed to fit their personalities very well.
