Ah...I assumed so. The timeline of events is somewhat confusing, but somewhere in my confusion, I decided that this was the only way it could be. Thus the Phoenix's actions are understood. Even Logan's actions with Marie in his bed.
This makes Logan's dilemma about who to kill or love less poignant. But it doesn't detract from Marie's choice. She chose in good faith to 'give up' her body to Jean, and that's still a deeply tragic position. Now perhaps the journey is to see how to get Marie back and kill the Phoenix - persuade Marie that she can be loved for herself. Poor Marie.

Ok, so correct me if I get any of this wrong…
1)Scott’s dead as a message from Phoenix to Xavier
2)Jean’s dead because she couldn’t handle taking in Phoenix
3)Marie took in Phoenix thinking it was Jean
4)Phoenix’s plan is getting all messed up because Logan is actually thinking with the head that’s on his shoulders(!!) and isn’t buying this whole line about Jean not believing in an afterlife and never seeing Scott again, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Is that about it, in a walnut shell that it?? (you can delete this review if I've let too many cats outaa your bag) ^_-
