that was a very sweet chapter. He is so in love with her. *sigh....* lol

Author's Response: Aw...yeah. Logan being understanding is damn sexy, isn't it? I feel like a lot of stories go the route of Logan convincing Marie that her mutation is not such a big deal. But it really is, and I liked the idea in this one of Logan coming to understand how important it is to her. Thanks for reviewing!

Oh man, that was good. I love how you incorporated the stabbing (and yet not stabbing). I'm soooooo looking forward to reading the next chapter!!! It would be a lovely break from all the silly formatting I have to do to my image list, glossary, and bibliography... ;)

Author's Response: So glad you liked it...is this your thesis you're formatting? If so, good luck! Thanks for reviewing!

Oh hell, thank you so much for this. I love it. I promise to adore it and support it in muse times and in drought...

~Mia

Author's Response: So glad you liked it! Thanks as always for your very sweet reviews!

Oh! Well, I must say, this time you are making it really hard to remind you of studying. Good chapter! (And I see you are beta'ing now. Surely that must mean your exams are over?)

Author's Response: Ha, yes, my exam was more than a week ago, thankfully. Although I was very naughty and started beta-ing beforehand...but in my defense, I hadn't realized Syrin would be posting a chapter every darn day!

You snuck this one in on me and I missed it until today! This one was short but sweet, I am betting Marie has got some talking to do before we get to the smoochin'. Are we up for a POV change? I would love to know what is going through Logan's mind right now.

Author's Response: Ha, didn't mean to be sneaky! And you're right, there's some talking to be done, but then smutty goodness will follow in short order. :-) Interesting point about the POV change...right now we're staying with Marie, but I do need to get back to Logan again. I think even with Marie's POV the next chapter will let you in on Logan's thinking a little bit, though. Thanks for reviewing!

OMG! I hate it when you end a chapter that way. I cant wait to read more. The moment between Logan and Marie, where he holds her and whispers her name...very strong. A favorite Rogan moment. More soon please! 10+

Author's Response: Sorry for the chapter break, but I'm so glad it left you wanting more! And that I was able to provide you with a favorite Rogan moment. Thanks for reviewing!

hi, know i haven't reviewed in ages but wanted to say i'm still really enjoying the story and that i loved this chapter. it was easy to follow straight to the point, not to mention you got my girl kitty in there. kudos, looking forward to the rest. hobbits away, hey!

Author's Response: Hi there! No worries about not reviewing if it means your time has been spent writing! Glad you commented on finding this chapter easy to follow, I was worried that the whole phasing action scene might be a little convoluted. Thanks for the review!

ohh i suspect some wild sex next... Or maybe its just a fervent hope. lol Great chapter.

Author's Response: Well, we may still have a chapter in between, but then there will be smutty goodness in short order, so keep your hopes up! Thanks for the review.

Finally some progress in the right direction! By which I mean, less torture. =P But I realize it is important to the story so I won't reprimand you too severely. I'm very pleased that Marie has come to realizations about her actions and has embraced the truth. She's acknowledging what is important to her and accepting it. Lovely chapter.

Author's Response: :-) Yes, these characters really balked getting to a certain place in their relationship...but I think I'm FINALLY getting them there. And having Marie realize she has to let her guard down and let Logan in is an important part of it. Thanks for reviewing!

Seriously. I'm going to have to start swearing at you. There's really nothing else I can say but "curse you and your damnable story!"

Author's Response: :-) I'll take swears, as long as they're in review form. Thanks for taking the time!

Damn you, woman! I said no more capturing people! Just hope they get out soon. That's enough torture for one story. Not that I'm mad or anything. You're just torturing me with this story. See? I used torture in multiple ways. Aren't I witty?

Author's Response: Ha...got to have just a little more capture...just a little, pretty please? Thanks for the review!

SUCH an action-packed chapter. So many things going on!

I absolutely loved how you described the metal singing to her and the different tone each kind of metal had. I love the title chapter. =)

I really liked Marie's conversation with Owen. Not only is it foreshadowing the danger to come (is it foreshadowing when it's so obvious?), but reveals that despite how hard she tries to convince herself she doesn't care about anyone, she's leaving in order to protect them all. Really wonderful.

Author's Response: So glad you liked it! Owen is pretty creepy, isn't he? Yeah, poor Marie. I think she's being pushed away by both internal and external forces, but a lot of them definitely have to do with protecting Logan and the mansion.

Aw, crap. I hate when Erik does stuff like this. How you torture me, so!

Author's Response: Yeah, Erik is pretty devious, isn't he? :-) What does he have in mind, I wonder? Thanks for reviewing!

Stacy is a very interesting character. I'm with Ororo in expressing distress at her rather cavalier attitude about killing a man but he *did* buy her. With nefarious intentions, no less. Never read about someone quite like her.

Author's Response: Yeah, I didn't know too much about Stacy, but the more I read about her the more interesting she became to me. She is quite the survivor. I really liked the idea of one of the mutants "saving themselves" rather than waiting around to be rescued. Thanks for reviewing!

I could never yell at you! They're just not ready yet. Definitely had to happen this way. Though of course, I'm a bit sad Marie is still so closed off but it's unrealistic to expect her to change long ingrained habits. Their interaction was heart-wrenching and real.

Author's Response: Yeah...now that they have actually gotten there (smutty chapters ahead) it confirmed for me how very not-ready they were back then. Marie is closed-off and prickly, that's the defining characteristic I had in mind when I was envisioning her. I'm glad you liked the interaction. Thanks for reviewing!

A superb exploration of the interplay between the Wolverine and Logan. I absolutely cannot wait for more. (Good thing it's already there =P)

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it...there's always a hard line to hit I think with the duality of this character without making it outright absurdly Jekyll and Hyde. I like the idea of the feral sending him unconscious messages that get a little lost in translation sometimes for the man. Thanks so much for your review!

Absolutely fabulous. All of it. I often struggle with myself about how I would do feral!Marie (if it should arise in a story). I think your take is very interesting.

Author's Response: So glad you liked it! As much as I have Marie absorb Logan every story (I think it's such an integral part of her character to have Logan in her head) I don't think I've ever done a fully Feral!Marie. It was fun! Although it made me miss atmd more!

Oh no! How will Marie deal with this? I'm getting distracted by the intense story to remember to write down the bits I liked.

Erik is ruthless as always. Very glad they were able to take him down. I don't think I could stand them being captured again so soon.

Author's Response: :-D Hope you liked how Marie dealt. Yes, Erik is ruthless, and he is brilliant. He never does anything without a good reason. :-D Thanks for reviewing!

Marie's panic was riveting. I felt everything closing in on her, drowning her, trapping her. Quite intense.

Hope she's not off being foolish. Accept the love, Marie. ACCEPT!

Author's Response: I'm glad you liked it. I had no idea when I started the chapter that she would have a panic attack, but it just seemed to happen. And of course she's off doing something foolish! ;-) Thanks for reviewing!

I'm amused how everyone seems to know what's going on but Logan.

I was a bit worried about Owen but when he perked up at the mention of the jet, I was glad.

Author's Response: The man can be a little dense sometimes, huh? Yeah, Owen was a little shell-shocked I think, but he'll recover. Thanks for reviewing!

I always think of Ororo as elegant in her speech so she's allowed to wax poetic.

I could almost imagine velcro being torn apart as Marie and Logan parted. =P

Oh Marie, always trying to be so brave.

Author's Response: Yeah, I think if anyone is going to introspect about the Rogan relationship, Ororo is a good one to do it. Thanks for reviewing!

I liked how Erik still understands Charles enough to know when to stop mocking -- if only for a moment.

Author's Response: Yes, knowing Kitty and Jubilee are at risk raises the stakes considerably. Enough to sober Lehnsherr, if only for a moment. Thanks for your review!

It wouldn't be a proper Dr. G story without more complications!

The pain she feels when she sees there aren't any scars is poignant. She will forever remember what happened, be able to live it, but his body shows no proof.

Author's Response: Yes, the lack of scars is so unnerving...I think in some ways it lets Logan feel like what happens to him doesn't really matter...that if he can deal with the pain it won't have a lasting impact, but it still does. Thanks for reviewing!

I think Marie's reaction to Xavier's intrusion was perfect. It just makes so much sense that she wouldn't want more voices in her head.

Also, you made Jean beyond mean. She was like, evil!Jean. I loved how Scott admonished her, just like she was a student or something.

Such twists and turns! Don't hold out on me. You better reveal things soon.

Author's Response: Yeah, it makes sense to me that both Logan and Marie would *hate* Xavier's telepathy. Yeah, Mean!Jean was a little over-the-top. My first attempt at a Mean!Jean, I need to calibrate a little better next time. Thanks for reviewing!
