Ahhh! That was great but scary too. I can't wait to read more...thanks!

Author's Response: Ooh, sorry to scare. I definitely wanted it to be realistic though. Thanks so much for the review!

Holy moly. So intense. Poor Marie. I'm just going to say, "Bye bye, Jose." When Logan gets ahold of him, he'll be in a million pieces.

Author's Response: True that. Jose is going down, hard.

AUGH, and know we know what Marie had to lose... D:

Author's Response: I didn't even think about that, but yeah. That was pretty much the *only* thing she had left to lose.

You. Are. Evil. Keeping us waiting?! AAAAH.

I mean, okay, we all know she's going to survive, but shit, woman, that's totally intense.

You know, I really hope that Marie's the one to dish out the comeuppance. As awesome as protective!Logan is, I wanna see kickass!Marie. She deserves it after all this.

Author's Response: She does deserve it. As far as I'm concerned, protective!Logan and kickass!Marie are *not* mutually exclusive entities. No reason we can't have both, right? (P.S. Yep, I am evil. True fact.)

Augh, holy crap, the cliffhanger...! I'm about to keel over from the tension here--fantastic job ratcheting it up. Please tell me those footsteps aren't Jose...

Author's Response: Gotta tell you, I was really *really* tempted to have Logan step in right there and save the day. But in the end, this felt more realistic.

WOOOO GO MARIE!

Even if she has to live with his disgusting self in her head, she's stood up for herself. Girl is riding that awesome train all the way to the end of the line.

Author's Response: Yeah =). That was pretty much the turning point in the story. It's time for her to start embracing some of that awesomeness now. Go girl. Uhh... I mean, after you stop being dead and all....

Gah. Tension liek whoa. He's just as creepy as I feared.

I’ll drain him, she told herself, as she always told herself

Oh, Marie, honey. That sounds just like a battered woman. What a horrible person.

Author's Response: He is a despicable person. I definitely think Marie's got some psychological issues from her time with him :(

Your choice of chapter title is really intriguing--I didn't get it at first and actually had to go look it up (augh, my Spanish skills have diiiied). The cook's just as icky as Jose, isn't he? What a pair of horrible people. I really hate to think about what the two of them have been doing to Marie...

Author's Response: Oh, oops. I didn't even think about posting a translation. There'll be just a few more Spanish words and phrases, and I'll make sure to post a translation in the footnotes or something :). The cook is definitely kind of icky, but he ain't got nothin' on Jose. Trust me. God, poor Marie. I really am gonna write a story where she eats some chocolates and watches a Hallmark movie and eats a romantic dinner with Logan or something. I feel all bad for what I'm about to do to her LOL.

Man, it's not enough to make fun of others; Jean has to go after the girl's pocketbook too? I love how this story is exposing the rifts between the X-Men.

Author's Response: Yeah, Jean, you skank. Gah.

I just realized just how many chapters of this wonderful story I hadn't reviewed. Let's work on that...

Interesting. You've made Jean and Scott very bratty, yes, but it doesn't seem like they're actually evil or hateful, just arrogant and self centered. I liked the detail about Ororo, too. Faultlines showing...

Author's Response: Heh, awesome! It was very cool to log on and see all the reviews. And yes, I almost think I made them too bratty and one-dimensional, but they'll become a little more dynamic towards the end of the story. I see them as the preppy/popular/slightly spoiled Scott and Jean from X-Men Evolution =)

These chapters are amazing I love your attention to detail. Now I'm ready for the next chapter with Marie facing Jose

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I appreciate you taking the time to read and review. I'm anxious to read your story too! =)

You are killing me with these short chapters. Killing me. I need to know more, NOW! Such a rollercoaster -- sorry that they both got to a point where they could talk about their mutations and then ducked away, glad that she agreed to go with him although somehow I don't think it's going to be that straightforward. But most of all, anxious for updates! Pretty please?

Author's Response: Ok! You will know more, in fact, before everyone else. That is, if you have time to look over the next five chapters on Google Docs before I post them. I'd really appreciate a little help =D. Pwease?

oh you evil evil tease!!! Cliff hanger!!! I loved the conversation at breakfast - why did you leave home, why are you here on business?? Ironically the answer is the same for both of them. I am really curious as to what is up with Jose and I would lay money Logan is going to have to kick his ass before the tooo long.

Author's Response: Oh yeah. Jose is a seriously sick dude. The only good thing I can say about it is that I PROMISE I will write a story at some point where Marie like, goes to the spa and buys some new shoes and then has a nice dinner with Logan or something. Because I kinda let her get eaten by a pack of wolves in 'Feral' and well, let's just say the upcoming chapters aren't going to be any nicer to her. Poor girl.

I just want to say that I LOVE how frequently you update, and the quantity, too! :D Very happy person over here.

ahh! Dammit. I hate cliffhangers. I have a feeling Logan is going to kick this guys ass. Either that or Wolverine is going to shishcabob him. heh. ;D

Author's Response: Or perhaps both. Double heh. ;D

Oooh, dominant Logan is back. HOT. ;) I love how he's nervous about her answer even as he exerts his (considerable) charisma and smokin'-hot smexiness (oops, did I say that out loud?) to convince her to stay with him. Also, the rubbing bit? Whimper.

Shut up, Marie's Voices. Y'all suck. I'm curious now how many people she had to put down on her cross-country odyssey that she has that many hateful inmates in her head.

Feeling stronger than she had in ages, Marie cut right through their bullshit, banished every doubt with a single question: What do I have to lose?

Awesomesauce. Living in constant anxiety and fear is so corrosive to the self esteem, but it's amazing how being around people who support you can start helping. I love watching how Marie is gaining back her confidence.

Author's Response: Yes, yes. I definitely agree. Doctorg called this the 'whipped puppy' Marie, and I have to agree with her there. But there is going to be growth throughout the story, and a lot of those wounds are going to start healing. Underneath all the shit that's beat her down over the years, there's still a sassy southern belle in there somewhere!

That’s the best thing I ever felt in my life, darlin’.

::melts::

I say it all the time, but I really do love this story. And I'm sad there's only one more chapter for me to read after this. lol. You've captured it so well. The way they both just *feel* something for the other, but there's still the awkwardness, fear (of rejection, of being hurt, etc), nervousness, and vulnerability because they just don't *know* each other yet. Great, great story.

Author's Response: It's okay, you can say it as many times as you like ;). So glad you're enjoying the story. And I definitely agree with your analysis of Logan and Marie. They may not 'know' each other yet, but they know how they feel, and Logan at least is one to trust those instincts.

You used the phrase abject horror. Correctly. You sure you don't want those chocolates? Seriously, it's such a pleasure to read well-written fiction by writers with a command of grammar and vocabulary.

Love the development of Marie's backstory and the slow deepening of her bond with Logan.

Author's Response: LOL. I'm so glad you appreciated the turn of phrase. I usually try not to let the words get in the way of the story or do anything overly prosey, but that one must've slipped through somehow ;). Yeah, I feel kind of bad for you, honestly. As an editor, it must be downright *painful* to read some fanfiction!

Right now he needed this. She could give him this.

That is so sweet. It's the perfect depiction of Marie's need to belong somewhere, to give back to someone. But you don't bludgeon the reader with it, just set it out there in your understated style and trust that your audience will keep up. Nice setup for the confrontation with her weasel boss, too.

Author's Response: Well, no need to insult your intelligence when I know I have readers who pick up that kind of stuff and appreciate it :). Marie is definitely a 'giver' and I think a big part of her self esteem issues are that she doesn't feel she has anything worthwhile to offer anyone. Poor girl.
