Awesome chapter! Logan's distress and anguish over Rogue's collapse and the possibility of losing her were palpable and intense. I loved how the Professor didn't need his telepathic abilities to realize how much Logan cares about her.

You did a great job with the scene between Xavier and Rogue, especially with this gem:

“Is he...is he sad when he’s in there?”

But, man, Logan just breaks my heart:

"He smoothed his hand down her hair again, trying to force himself and the Wolverine into acceptance of the decision he already knew she would make. It’s okay, he told himself. I’ll give anything, as long as she wakes up..."

Good God, woman, you'll be the death of me! ;)

Author's Response: Aw, thanks so much. Your reviews are the greatest. I'm glad Logan's distress over Rogue came through -- now too bad she wasn't around to witness it. :-/ Yeah, poor Logan and his insecurities. Where would my stories be without that little plot point to keep things interesting?

Such a wonderful chapter. You did a beautiful job of showing Rogue's vulnerability and strength, and Logan's strength along with his own vulnerability. A truly touching chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reviewing! I'm so glad you liked it, and that Rogue's strength is finally starting to come through. She has come out much more vulnerable/weepy in this fic than I usually write her, so I'm anxious for her to start demonstrating some of that strength.

This is in no way a mere 'necessary step'...it is a key turning point, especially for Logan who is only now realizing just how much he's willing to give...or to give up...for Rogue's happiness. Beautiful and brilliant -- again. Such a poignant scene with the professor, especially 'Is he...is he sad when he's in there?' >sniff< --Wendie

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad you liked the chapter. I think it makes sense that Rogue's reluctance to "imprison" people in her mind would affect her control of the voices. Thanks so much for your review...they are very encouraging!

I didn't get a chance to review chap 12 but I wanted to tell you I loved the way you put it together - the record, the memory, the voice. Excellent, the tempo was powerful but not unduly heavy.

As for this chapter, you say it lacks action but I disagree - there is a HUGE amount of information in this chapter. Your chaterizations are excellent like always - the Professor is just grand. The moment he realizes he is projecting himself with hair, he anger over Logan's presumption about needing to know about the Phoenix, the way he talks to Marie. He is human and flawed but (he knows it) and he is doing the best that he can.

Wolverine is soo sweet and self critical when his women are in distress. And oh Wolvie you are soo wrong about her leaving you (I hope! I am really glad you believe in happy endings like me.)

Hurrah for two great chapters!

Author's Response: Thanks so much for your review! I'm glad you liked the chapters. It's funny, the point of view in my stories is always Logan, Marie, Logan, Marie, Marie, Logan, and then all of a sudden Professor Xavier pipes in there. ;-) I think he's just such a fascinating character -- not just the authority of his wealth and position and formidable mutation, but the combination of such a cultured calm exterior with what you know is strong emotion underneath. I think Patrick Stewart does an amazing job of portraying that. Yeah, Wolverine and his self-esteem issues. Where would my stories be without them? :-)

"Xavier may hold his own opinions about what those feelings actually represented, but to Logan they were real." Ooh what an intriguing line. I always figured Logan's thing for Jean was largely based on her red hair. Wonder if that's what Xavier sees?

Really great job writing from the Professor's point of view. Felt very in character to me. And LOL at him giving his mental projection a full head of hair.

How very sad, that no one ever followed up on the missing persons report :(. Poor Roguey. Oh, the angst. And Wolverine's state of mind is just so perfectly conveyed. The pacing on this story is lightning-quick, but it still feels like you leave ample room for the emotions and character development.

In all, definitely an exciting chapter. As good as any so far, which is saying something ;). I eagerly await more--and am curious to see what changes are in store when Rogue wakes up!

Author's Response: Ha, I took that line in and out like ten times trying to decide if it was intriguing or distracting. Glad you found it the former. Thanks so much for your review!

Author's Response: Thanks! I also have a thing for Strong!Marie and Tender!Logan so hopefully things will continue to progress in that direction.

Yeah, loved it. Necessary chapter, but also really a good one too. I'm looking forward to seeing how Rogue controls her 'voices' and how that's going to affect her later.

Author's Response: So glad you liked it! Yeah, there is a little more in Rogue's head coming up. The chapter was just getting too long so I had to cut it off. :-)
