I think you did great with going from dramatic to smut and straight back with a bang! I am looking forward to watching her put him in his place. Why would he leave her anyway? Won't Shaw know what he did? Won't Emma?
Author's Response: I'm glad you didn't find the drama-smut-drama transition too jarring. ;-) As for your questions, they'll probably get answered in the first paragraph of the next chapter, but I'll give you a little preview. ;-) He can't leave without finding out Jean's location, because he knows he'll never get back in. He would tell Shaw that Rogue just knocked him out with her skin. And Emma can't read his mind.

Oooh. Yay! This chapter was definitely worth the wait. Not only do I finally have some sense of what's going on with Jean, but there was smut--and sorry, interesting plot point, but I'm afraid the smut wins in the 'my favorite part of the chapter' competition ;).
I liked the image of Rogue tracing an 'M' on the window. Very nicely done. And of course, the last few lines were just--unfh. Can't wait to see how that plays out.
Author's Response: So glad you thought it was worth the (overly-long) wait. I'm glad you liked the smut too -- I love reading stories with smut and I always want to throw it in there, but while I'm writing it I'm always like, "This is so hokey, this is such a cliche, people are going to be laughing out loud at this..." :-) I'm glad you liked the "M"...that was one of the "scenes" I first had in mind when I was formulating the story. I'll get to work on the next chapter!

I sense bad things are coming. I think we're about to see a reappeance of strong independent Rogue and none too soon.
Author's Response: Ha, all I can think of is Seinfeld -- "You're killing Independent George!" But you're right, it is a slow progression toward Strong!Rogue but it will continue. So far she's really been battered around by others, but she's going to start making some pretty bold decisions in the next little bit. Thanks so much for reviewing!
