I love, love how you've got this set up. All the sweet possibility of the before and the horrifying uncertainty of the after...ugh. So sad. So great.
And addictive. I don't want to stop reading here! But it's late. Tomorrow, I'll be back for sure.

Damn, another fantastic chapter! I love the little interactions with Jean. And you really communicate Marie's distress without her being all teenage-melodrama-y. Thanks for this...I'm sad to move on because I know it's the last chapter written so far...

I'm an equal-opportunity character lover, so Jean and I get along :-) I'm also glad that Marie isn't coming across as melodrama-y. I want her to be believable, so it's good to hear that.

And dang... the beginning (the before part) seemed so nice, like they were so on their way to "something".

Sigh... I LOVE that line.

I felt kind of bad for the little twist at the end, but it was always supposed to go that way, and I hadn't quite expected the whole before scene to be so darn nice! But I was happy with where it ended up, so I left it alone. And that line is my favorite in the chapter, so I'm glad that you liked as well!! Thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to read and comment!
