Again, his feral side is so evident in those last few lines. I love that he sees her that way, even though he doesn't really know why yet.

As for the so-called X-Men, what a disappointment. Thing is, I can't see Logan or Rogue ever saying such things about any one of them. Hell, I bet Logan wouldn't even talk like that about Scooter.

Loving this. Looking forward to more. --Wendie

I love this, it’s growing ever-more intriguing, and I have my suspicions about what they want from our Rogue, but I’ll keep them to myself for now...

Dark, mysterious and intense, I can’t wait for more! x

Judging by how low They have already sunk--'morally bankrupt' would be a vast understatement--I am fascinated to see what it is the good doctor will find so hard to live with. Actually, I'm scared to find out. To read the next chapter, I'll have to peek out from behind my trembling fingers, but read it I surely will! --Wendie

There is so much mystery in this opening, I can’t wait to read what will come next. More excitingly is the intense darkness of it, and I love it.

Fav line: “He saw that it took a lot from her, but she leaned in, her eyes never leaving his, and for just a few moments, all the shadows in them seamed to vanish.”

I'll be following...

The 'half-fist' is what got me. The bastards have damaged him so badly he's regressed to basic primate behaviors. He even thinks like an animal--'the pain bringer', 'the boots', 'the feet', 'the scent'. But They have screwed themselves royally now. I wonder if they know they've brought him his mate, his reason to take back all They took from him--and he ain't gonna be nice about it, now is he?

Excellent beginning. Count me in. --Wendie
