Wow, this is powerful writing! And I, for one, welcome the darkness and will continue to follow this amazing story.

The way you wrote Logan’s swift and uncontrollable change to ‘feral’ was brilliantly done, also how you showed the tougher side of Marie, aka Rogue, coming through was portrayed excellently.

Fav line: “Then there were his heartbeats: strong and calm, deep sounds that made Rogue think of an antique war drum.”

I eagerly look forward to your next update...

Author's Response: Thank you!! I got inspired from a few other lab related fics across the net... Hope I did justice to the Masters. (Though the drum-thing is 100% me ^^)

'Intense' is a vast understatement, but I can't think of anything else to say right now. Please tell me that vicious bitch Dr. Mann will die with a huge smile on her face for all the sweet pain Logan will inflict on her. Let it be thus for Dr. Montgomery, too.

So, I'm guessing the syringe was filled with embryos created from Rogue's eggs that had been previously harvested and fertilized, because Mann and Montgomery couldn't take the chance that she wouldn't get pregnant through the 'usual channels'? Or did I miss something?

Anyway, so glad you updated and can't wait for more! --Wendie

Author's Response: You got it right Wendie, at list for scientific part. I am no scientist, so I had to do some research about this, hoping that I had it right...I'm more on the literary side ^^. Glad you liked it!!

p.s. super grossed out by old Dr. Mann's (pun on her name perhaps?) attraction to Wolverine.

like he'd have that sadistic old hag...not even with a machine gun pointed to his head lol

Author's Response: Then you should read next chapter...! Or maybe not........

"the difference between science and sadism"

damn, that is a freaking awesome line there!!!!

and sad it had to happend for Rogue and Wolverine this way, but that's the way the story took it so i totally get it. still sad.

yeh, fuck the X-men and their casual disregard of Logan. they are so careless with him, they seem to think that once he's done their bit for him they can just forget about him. grr.

glad rogue went to find him, even if she got herself into this mess. she's the only one who can save him...and not from this prison, but from himself.

wow, that's soooooo powerful! love this story so far.

i love how you described Wolverine in his most animal form, without words to describe what he sees or feels. it's so very primal and honest.

I love the idea that Logan now remembers everything. And hurrah for Hank, he will find them. I have faith. I hadn't realized Marie had been in captivity that long if she has been gone two years!

Author's Response: In fact she's been gone only a year... She left about a year after Logan's departure. Sorry if I didn't express it well enough, I tend to be confused with dates and numbers in general!

Another great chapter. I love Logan’s POV about the situation, so well written, so true to character.

Fav line: “For one moment, one tiny little moment, he wished he had never met her, but the thought as attractive as it was remained unbearable.”

Also, Xavier’s description of Logan’s and Rogue’s relationship was wonderful and specifically, I loved this line:

“So when I proposed Logan the following day to leave for a few months, he took the opportunity for what it was: a way to preserve the one person who truly mattered to him.”

So this is turning into a story I’m craving for. No pressure from Comic-cake then! :-)

Author's Response: Thank you Comic-cake! I must admit that this chapter was kind of hard to write, especially the way Xavier perceived Logan and Marie's relationship...I wanted to make it sound like a *good* idea to leave, for Logan especially. Well, for Logan, I just let my imagination run freely! I simply have this guy under my skin (BLUSH)!!!

Okay – chapter five - wow!

I loved the opening action, I could hear it happening all around me. Brilliantly done. And the way you describe Logan when he was strapped up and ‘ready to go’ (so to speak) as Rogue approached was perfection. Phew!

Fav line: “Tall and muscular body, ideally symmetric features… all about him spoke about perfection, balance and power.” – oh, so true! Lol!

Loved this chapter, the best yet! x

Author's Response: Thank you!!!!! This particular line was...well...That's how I see Wolverine, especially in Origins: simply breath taking (Giant Blush). I'm so glad looked liked this one, and truth be told, I wasn't all that sure when I posted "Sed non satiata". But reading too much of one particular poem made me do it; I blame it on the French!!

OK, so you took away my Logan/Rogue smut, but I'll trade that for a determined Hank McCoy any day of the week, as long as it helps get them--and their baby--the hell away from that sadist Montgomery and his vicious skank of a girlfriend! I also love that Logan is remembering the hows and whys of getting to where he is now. I wonder, do his keepers know he is remembering? Do they want him to? More, more, more --Wendie

Author's Response: Wendie, Wendie...I can see that you are very far ahead in the story already (it's a compliment)! It's always a pleasure to read your reviews, dear. Hope to make next chapter as captivating for you. And sorry for the smut thing...But I'm just not confident enough to right one in this story; I'm too afraid to make it too flowery, or too rough. Maybe you can suggest a few things (winks) - Free-

Whatever you do, please don't end it there. There have been too many "lab" stories that never got past this part. Please please continue.

Great job so far.

Author's Response: Thanks! (Goofy smile) I know... I'll try and take it furhter, I don't like it either when it stops there!!

Evil, evil cliffie! Mid-coitus? How could you! Please tell me you're going to let them finish FIRST THING in the next chapter. Don't know what that gas was they gave him, or what 'the procedure' is, but if it was to get him hot for Marie, it was like throwing gasoline on a bonfire--unnecessary at the least and serious overkill at worse. Can't wait to see what happens next--after the sex, that is. Sex first, then plot. Right? --Wendie

Another darkly written and grim chapter - and I mean that as a compliment. I love it! And the closing line sent a shiver down my spine. I can’t wait to see how this develops...

“They were curled in each other’s embrace, like a mythic couple.” – great line. x

How sick am I that I get this excited about lab breeding program stories? And was that Xavier rounding up the calvery?

Charles better get his damn act together. What is the use of being the most powerful telepath in the world if you can't locate one young woman. :)

Great chapter.

Good heavens, there for a minute I thought maybe it wasn't going to be Logan's child. As awful as all of this is--the worst thing being that she could carry his baby all that time only to have Them take it away--at least it's his child They want.

'Amicus Humani Generis' doesn't compute in the Latin translators I used to look it up. From my high school Latin class, I figured out 'friend' and 'human' or 'man' and if I had to guess, 'generis' looks like maybe 'create' or 'procreate' or 'beginning', maybe? Guess I slept through class the day they taught that one! LOL!

Anyway, I'm still loving this story. The mystery is like a Rubik's Cube. You just get one part figured out and then there's a whole new scramble on another side to undo.

Love that he knows she's his mate and that he remembered her name. *sigh*

More, more, more! --Wendie

Author's Response: It's good to know that you appreciate this rather complicated story (*I* kinda get lost in the intrigue sometimes! blush). Regarding the latin quote, it means "Friend of the Human Race". I know it sounds like FoH, but...well, it's not. I wanted to put it as a bottom note, but in my frenzy, I completely forgot... (*BLUSH*)

Once again, I love the darkness of this and the way you portray Rogue’s emotions. She seems so alone, yet she’s a fighter, and that's the Rogue I like the most.

Fav line: “At that the young woman felt a wave of pure panic rising in her, the projection so strong that it made the two telepaths present in the room wince in unison.”
