I can understand how hard it must be to write Logan in love as you mentioned (even though I don't write myself, but that just goes to show..). Anyway I think you did a great job! I always figured he'd be gruffer and try harder to fit the Wolverine image once he finds out how he feels since he's not familiar with warm fuzzy feelings.
I rally liked seeing his struggle here & the ending was a nice balance of new-to-these-feelings-awkward Logan & melty-lock-the-door-&-just-you-wait goodness :)

I love how it doesn't even occur to Logan at first to wonder about how out-of-his-ordinary his reactions to Marie are. Your characterisation of him just enjoying things about her and wondering about those odd reactions later is perfect; he has no memory of love, so it's natural he wouldn't recognise it at first.
The touching scene and Marie's break-up and the switch was just perfect and I loved seeing it from his perspective. All hail Logan in love!
I also quite enjoyed your literary references :-)

Holy flipiddyistypickle! (that's my attempt at Nonsense - I can barely master English as it is). I loved this! There were some excellent lines throughout this, but my fave part was Marie being sick & Logan, of course, not really having any concept of what normal recovery time is.
What was even better than that was his realization of how he feels. It wasn't a punch in the face of wordy exposition- this felt natural, like he was kind of blindsided by it after being preoccupied with his lusty wrong feelings for Jean.
My favorite chapter so far :D

I am truly enjoying your story, I'm always happy to see an update. Unlike many other stories I'm trying to keep up with, this one almost feels like each chapter is a stand-alone fic, while still being tied to the others.

First, nothing in the world wrong with this chapter. Loved it. Especially the 'inner Logan' during the 'good guy' bit.
Best line: 'Oh. My. God. If only the image in my head didn't include a naked Summers.'
Oh, and I also loved that Logan figured out that it was really HIM Xavier wanted and keeping Rogue meant keeping him, too.

Nicely done! A few lines are stand-outs:
'(**we're still working on that-the way he grabbed her arm-we're still working on that**)' -- like it's on a loop, playing over and over in his head with his little editorial comment added. Very cool.
"A scent reaches my nose that I can not and would not describe to anyone, ever- some things are private, you know? -one that would make a lesser man shiver." -- Gave me goosebumps!
and, of course,
"I think you're perfect, Kid." -- *sigh*

This chapter had some serious laugh out loud moments. I love when writers can get a handle on Logan's sense of humor. Not that anyone should admit that he has one to his face. Oh no, bad idea.
Author's Response: I would love to say that the particular line you quoted was mine, but I have to give credit where it is due. A wonderful person put that up for adoption on Nanowrimo, and it inspired that scene. (Everything else is, of course, my own.) Thank you for reviewing!
