I just happened to read other people's comments and I want to say this - I don't think you should feel pressured to adhere to any pairing just because this site is called the Wolverine and Rogue fanfiction archive - they are both in the story, they interact, we see what is going on in both their lives, and regardless of whether they end up together or not should not really matter as long as we see the evolution of a story. Otherwise we would all be pressure to only write happy endings, or only write certain pairings or only .... you get the idea. It's your story and you can do what you like with it. We all accept that. I think that this story has more attraction for me for two reasons - one that you have managed to make this pairing work without making either character to over the top and alternate from canon, and secondly we might see a different dynamic between Marie and Logan with this storyline, they will have to confront a lot more issues, his lack of action (he's the older/mature one), her seeming betrayal(how else will he see it - he's hardly gonna say Good On You Girl), his expectations(What - she was meant to wait around forever until he got up the guts to approach her? She doesn't have a healing factor and thus is not immortal - times a wasting), her independance(which she is finally asserting towards Logan's place in her life instead of reacting semi-passively to his actions), I think that is very brave and adventurous of you to take that approach and I think it makes a great change from the typical tale, fluff or angst, where you know what's going to happen, just not when. This tale keeps you guessing. Go You!!

Oh my oh my!! I am so happy!! I can't believe that you managed to stay true to Victor's character and yet still find a way for him and Marie to be together. I love that she has givern him her name ... in a way almost more intimate than her virginity. And I like that Victor has reached a point where he is thinking about his life, I don't think he has ever wanted to confront it before this. Now normally I admit to being a Wolverine fan but after too much fanficton I am tired of him dragging his backside when it comes to dealing with his feeling for Rogue - thus my love for this story and the Victor/Marie pairing. No-one has ever managed to write a good story with this pairing where we see what Victor could be whilst staying in character. You have done the most magnificent job ... and I look forward to the next installment and any more smut that might come our way will also be appreciated of course. *grin*

normally the idea of Rogue and Victor would annoy me but you really drew me into this story, especially when you draaaaaged out the sex and i was begging you to write it. and it was worth the wait.

If I wanted to read stories about how much Marie and Victor mean to each other, I wouldn't go looking for them on this site. HOWEVER, that having been said, I will follow this story faithfully because I am fascinated to see how you bring this full circle, which you seem to hint that you are going to do. Even if she ends up riding off into the sunset with Victor (God forbid!), there still will have to be some kind of reckoning between her and Logan and THAT I am anxious to see. --Wendie

Oh .. and since I am already almost begging you for a pro-Victor stance, can we see more of the inner Victor, the one that Rogue can see is like Wolverine, that has maybe decided to rejoin humanity and let go of some of the big bad past? I think if ever Victor was to reform it has to be for someone like Rogue who has enough inner strength to deal with him.

Okay ...now you've done it. After 5 long years of lurking and NEVER reviewing I am breaking my own rules for you and you alone. I am proud to say that I LOVE this story, I LOVE you pairing Rogue with a Victor Creed that has more than one dimension to his character and I am (almost ashamedly) proud to admit that I think it (almost) serves Logan right for leaving her to hang for so long. I am actually hoping for more Rogue/Victor action and if I had anything worthwhile to bribe you with I would attempt to sway you to a Rogue/Victor happy ending, cue Wolverine angst here. I am loving this and recommend it to everyone.
Author's Response: I am honored that you like my story so much to break such an important rule. Especially because this is my first lengthy story. I am not going to say what is going to happen. I decided exactly what to do with this story months ago and I am not going to change it. All I can say is that I hope that the ending for this story will be to your liking. Not that this wasn't hot--'cause my chair just burst into flames--but somewhere in all this Victor-the-Great stuff, I've lost the thread of the Wolverine/Rogue story. How, if at all, is Victor giving Rogue 'the little piece of heaven' going to affect Logan and her relationship with him? This seems to have taken on a life of its own and gone from Rogue setting out to get drunk and get laid to her and Victor discovering a 'connection' that almost has this looking like she's meant to be with Victor instead of Logan, which would make me, for one, very sad. --Wendie
Author's Response: I completely understand what you're saying, and I agree. But believe me, with where I wanna take this, there really isn't any other way I could start this story out without such a heavy emphasis on Marie and Victor to have the right effect I want the end to have. It's a work in progress. and this was the first lengthy story I have attempted to write. I am just starting out with this one and I could very well wrap it up in the next 3 chapters but I really don't want to. So I have to draw it out as much as possible. Don't forget the title of the story *wink*.

ooohhh, wouldn't that be a kicker and if she and Vic wound up together. well, since Logan has been a complete asshat in this story, she should be with Victor if he's going to keep being this surprisingly awesome.
