Just beautiful. Okay, maybe parts of it were intensely creepy and gory, but I wouldn't be a Logan fan if I didn't go for that sort of thing. This was one of the most original things I've ever read, fanfiction or no. It was scary and subtle and violent and masterful and so damn well crafted that I want to weep for having come to the end. You have a wonderful imagination. I hope you always foster this talent and maybe harness it into writing something truly unique in the ocean of published literture.

~Mia

Author's Response: You are too kind and I deeply appreciate your words of encouragement. I wrote one more L/M fic after this one that was about the same size in length. It was an AU, with Logan and Marie in medieval times. It is because of that fic that I stopped writing fanfic for the most part, simply because it was so AU it became original. I still write, but it is all original now. I'm not sure I could ever write fanfic again, but this universe, Logan and Marie, will always be my favorite.

Like haniccol, I can't believe I missed this! Not at all what I expected, but executed so, so well. You pulled in a lot of comic references without distracting or confusing those of us who aren't too familiar with that 'verse. I know the comicverse X-Men have had multiple dealings w/ aliens, but I could never imagine working that into a fic - until I read this. You did it and managed to make it still feel real. That part of the plot could have easily taken the reader out of the story in a "wtf?" moment, but it doesn't. I wanted to just keep gobbling up more. Well. Friggin'. Done! :D

I don't know how I missed this story in all the years I've been devouring the fiction on this site, but I'm glad that I stumbled across it now. I loved every bit of it. I liked the ideas behind it and I liked the feelings that went into every sentence. (it reminded me slightly of Little Shop of Horrors, but in a good way). Basically, I just wanted to say I loved this story.

This is the saddest, sweetest portrait of Logan I have ever seen. The way you chronicled his recovery was almost as breathtaking as the things he said to Scott in that hangar.

I always hate to reach this point in your series (I've read them all probably 3 times in the last five years, I can't resist coming back to it every so often 'cuz it's so well done and so moving). It's hard to say good-bye to a great character at the end of a story, and it ended with a "whimper" rather than a bang, I suppose, at the start of a whole new chapter in their lives that always leaves me hungry for more, and my imagination swirling for weeks! I'm so glad you shared these stories with your internet audience! :)

Author's Response: LOL Ah, I see I am not the only one to think this universe ended on a whimper. I never wrote the story that followed: the wedding. My apologies, but I will probably never write it now. Suffice to say it was along the lines of Winter Tails and was Dutch's point of view of the aftermath at the mansion.rnThank you for all your kind words, not just here, but on other stories. These tales are rather old and dusty now. Nice to know they can still entertain.

I can't believe you have no reviews for this! It's incredible! Where on Earth did you get the idea from?! And your writing style is amazing - so descriptive and the characters are pegged perfectly!
The story actually began to remind me of The Thing near the end, but this is in no way a complaint - I loved it!
And now I'm off to read the rest of your stuff!
