The opening confused me - was she waiting at the motel? Was she with him? Did I miss something? And there were one or two misplaced words, like 'they're' in place of 'their', but otherwise this was great, and the ending really, really sewed it up for me! Marie is all grown up and taking no shit - and he 'fesses up to her. Loved that!
