i just wanted to say i loved this. so many fics use real darkness as a prop and don't explore its consequences but this does. it's not gratuitous though it still manages to be both honest and hopeful. i really enjoyed it.

My God. Next time I read something like this, I'd better make sure that I am alone. You ripped my heart out with this, and yet there was no overdoing the tension, no sick wallowing in the gor details, simply the story of a horrible turmoil, and two people, getting over it with a great, heartbreaking effort. Incredibly well done.

Great writing. Well developed story. Good pace.
Loved the way you worked your way from darkness to light ;)
Very dark and distressing start, sad in the middle, great at the end!
