I have to say, my most favourite line in this fic is "You’ve become just another boyf, and will now receive the Jubilee stare of whatever. WHATEVER, dude." I seriously laughed out loud when I read that :D
This fic is really interesting. Of course I love the Rogue/Marie Logan/Wolverine interactions, but the way your other characters are built up is lovely as well. So many fics have developed leads but the rest of the cast is frustratingly two dimensional, and you have anything but two-dimensional supporting cast members in this fic! I would have liked to see a little more loose-end-wrapping in terms of the raids and such, it was a little abrupt to go from Max and Alec and X5s and X6s to camper-buying, but lol that is my ONLY gripe, and I still think this fic is a 10/10!

You know when the author says 'JaqofSpades' that the story is going to be good. I have to admit, that the ending was a little confusing, but I think I got the sum of it. I liked it. Well done. ;)

As a caveat, I'm not the biggest fan of cut and clear differences between the Logan/Wolverine, Marie/Rogue personas, it's never really rang true for me. But the payoff at the end was really nice. And, boy, did this line ever resonate:
“Well, fuck you! Just fuck right off! God forbid you should ever love anyone who had the guts to love you back! Anyone who might be your equal!” Preach it, Rogue. Preach.

She spluttered, and he could tell she didn’t know whether to take it as a compliment or a warning. He was only half-joking, concerned that some idiot would let lust win out over brains and try to take advantage of his absence later on. But he also wanted to let her know just how beautiful she was. The only bright spot in this dingy bar – hell, the only bright spot in his dingy LIFE.
I'm gonna keep quoting your writing back at you to remind you how brilliant you are.

Your Logan is just the right amount of funny, and I adore it.

Wow. I almost feel like I need to think a little more before writing a review, which is really a compliment to the complexity of your story. I think the shift in Marie and ultimately in Logan was a very bold choice. I'm still thinking about it. Still kind of sad for Logan and Marie, but maybe like Wolverine thought I need some time to adjust to fall in love with these two new people who did find their happiness together. Overall, a great story, and I'm so glad to have read it!

i still miss Marie, that sweet innocent girl. but now that Logan has integrated the Wolverine into his persona fully and they are one i understand why Rogue is right for him.
but i still miss Marie. her being gone makes me really sad.
what a beautiful story, even if it made me freaking cry at the end to know Marie was gone for good.

those X-fives or whatever they are are sooooo FREAKY! imaginative and stunning twist to the story.
plus the new Rogue personality. i had a hard time picturing her and hearing her new voice, until i was able to imagine her speaking through the real Marie's voice with just a harder, more mature edge to it.
i'm sorry Marie is gone, but in a world like this i guess she had to leave and let the strong Rogue survive.

Powerful. I think that word sums up this story in one nice neat little package. The last chapter was the most powerful of them all. I love how both Marie/Rogue and Logan/Wolverine came to an understanding and acceptance of their individual natures and alternate personalities, while still staying true to the characters we know and love.
Your talent is apparent in every chapter and I applaud this work. 10 stars! 20 stars! And while I would love to see this story continue, I feel you ended it at a perfect place. Kudos to an awesome story.

Hi,
Fantastic story...loved it. I have to admit though, I thought it was bittersweet too. I think it's the first time in a story where W/R end up together (b/c they want to..not b/c of rebound/other people etc.)yet I'm left feeling sad..all b/c of Marie. I loved your Marie...and understand how and why Rogue came about..but..I wish she could've integrated with Rogue, instead of completely being taken over. Given time..I think she could also have been able to handle Wolverine...and I got the impression Logan might've thought so too.
So anyway, not to be a total downer LOL, it's an awesome story...and as you can probably tell, it got to me :)..and I'm in awe of your talent. Thanks so much for sharing.

It's bittersweet in every sense of the word: it's bitter that Logan and Marie couldn't find each other and just *be*, but also sweet how Wolverine found his Rogue and came to that stunning final conclusion.
Now I'm just waiting for the sequel in which Rogue finds her own true amalgamation of self (somehow, Logan and Marie together was really missing for me at the end, though that was more of a function of Marie's dormancy; I hope she melds), they go back to New York to kick some more ass because no one does it like they do and then go off back to Canada to have cubs.
As a fellow Dark Angel fan, I loved the little cameo! And might I add this one little critique: Laughlin City is in Alberta and too far south of the territorial border to be close to a cabin in the Northwest Territories, to say nothing of being too far east to be close to the Yukon. (Swear, I live there.)
Thank you for the three-dimensional version of that alternate future.

loved the imagery you portrayed in the fight bar from logan and marie's antics amoungst the violence of the fights to picturing bobby's face at the thought that he actually believed he had a chance only to *see* he never did. Also love the direction you took this fic - showing just how much she would do for him. great job well done x

Author's Response: Nicely picked ... I really enjoyed Dark Angel, and thought the concept would fit well into the X-men universe. So they did a little guest spot. But I'm afraid, for me, X-men Logan wins hands down. No contest.

Author's Response: Thank you! I find it interesting how different people read different things as sad. While it got a bit angsty, I thought that the path they were on ... self realisation, in both cases ... was generally positive. Mostly.
