wow, just wow. that was positively poetic. is John Barleycorn a real folk song/character? the parable and it's parallell to Logan is stunningly appropriate.

i really enjoy, well really revel in it, and am currently working my way through all your stories, so pardon me if i comment a lot, esp. on older one, i just can't resist when i read something that strikes a chord with me.

Author's Response: Yes he is honey, have a look on the google about John Barleycorn and who he is and what he represents to the old fashioned world of farming and pagan religion. Scarecrows are for us not the birds.

Sheaves and stooks and sickles, oh my! John Barleycorn must die, indeed. What a humbling thing, to have such a magical story sent to me on Sabbat, and with my name in the announcement. Thank you, Jo! This one almost made me weep, and the Wolf don't cry over fic, trust me...
I love the concept of Logan being the walking incarnation of the God of the Pagans, his eternal regeneration explaining the possible roots of the Harvest King in your fic Universe. It also reminded me of the "Scarecrow" episode of "Supernatural" from the first season (my personal favorite ep). That was a creepy scarecrow. I love to build scarecrows, and I might have to make a Wolverine scarecrow now - you've inspired me.
And by the way: I've got a little golden Brigid's Cross hanging on my lamp right now.
Another thing that grabbed me from this story, and I'd swear you followed me around today: my boyfriend has a clump of bird-sewn wheat ripening outside his front window. In the bed across from it, I've planted Flanders Poppies.

Girl, get outta my head. Who died and made you Telepath?

Thank you for this: I'm leaving a 10 because the rating system won't accept a perfect Pagan 13 for you.

Blessed be.

Wolf

Author's Response: Glad you liked it honey, it just came to me this one. Not like the other Lammas fic I've done, this one was personal and all *yours*. Next holiday is Mabon....wonder what we can come up with for that one? Hugs Jo.
