Dark? Definitely. Psychotic? Not on your life. He did what he had to do to protect the people he cared about from the darkest force he'd ever faced. The fact that he enjoyed a violent and, in the end, messy fuck while he was at it is, as you say, 'why we love him.' Great story. --Wendie
