Okay, funny story. My husband was watching I am Legend while I was reading this - I had my eyes on this story because, well - I hate scary movies. That's not the point though - the point is, when I got to this chapter, it was the 'epic battle' portion of the movie playing in the background with the inspirational swelling soundtrack music. It was crazy - I was reading (and re-reading) parts of this chapter, and I could *see* it happening in my head, and it was all slomo and kick ass - I have never read a fic quite like this one. Your use of language is gorgous. It really made me feel, and feel like I was there - and even at the end, I sort of expected Logan and Marie to make it out, or for Logan to jump up and kick ass. I love that he didn't though, and you chose to tie it all up in an epilogue. It just felt very noir - and I really, really, REALLY loved it. And I felt like I should take the time to tell you that. Fantastic.
